It was rare for Alhaitham and Kaveh to have free time, especially at the same time and with their oftentimes hectic schedules, it was nice to be able to just sit in the House of Daena without worrying about deadlines and whatnot. Alhaitham takes a look around him, watching as other students are frantically chasing their own deadlines before turning back to Kaveh who's currently sitting next to him, laying his head on the table, using his coat as a makeshift pillow, looking up at him and Alhaitham feels his heart skip a beat with how adorable Kaveh looked. Still, he remains composed as he continues reading, but he just couldn't help himself from sneaking a glance at his senior every now and then.
"Hey, Alhaitham? Can I ask you a question?" Kaveh suddenly asks with a bright smile and Alhaitham thinks his heart might just about burst, he loved seeing Kaveh smile. His smile shone as brightly as the Sun, nothing could ever compare to its beauty, Alhaitham thinks.
"What is it, senior?" Alhaitham replied coolly, putting down his book.
"Do you like anyone? As in, romantically I mean." Kaveh sits up as he says that, smile growing wider and Alhaitham loses his calm composure, attempting to cover his face as a blush creeps onto his cheeks. He lets out a cough, turning away from his senior and Kaveh starts laughing and it's the most beautiful thing Alhaitham has ever heard and it hits Alhaitham, just how much he loved Kaveh, not that he could never admit it though.
"Why do you ask that?" Alhaitham attempts to regain his composure but fails miserably.
Kaveh tilts his head, still smiling, "I was just curious, but based on your reaction I think the answer is quite clear!" Kaveh giggles as he says that and Alhaitham feels his breath hitch. "So, who is it?" Kaveh asks with a smirk. You, Alhaitham wants to reply, but the fear of rejection was far too great for him to admit it to Kaveh's face. After all, Kaveh had no shortage of admirers, being the light of Kshahrewar and the light of Alhaitham’s life, it only made sense and Alhaitham had no doubt in his mind that Kaveh would one day surpass all of Sumeru's greatest geniuses, so how could he even begin to hope that Kaveh could ever feel the same way about him?
"No one, you're mistaken, I was simply caught off guard is all." Alhaitham replies instead, Kaveh pouts and Alhaitham might just die right there and then with how cute Kaveh was being.
"Tch, come on Haitham, don't be like that." Kaveh whines, wrapping his arms around Alhaitham, still pouting and Alhaitham could reply Kaveh continued, starting to smile "Fine, if you really want to keep it a secret I won't pry…but just so you know, I like you too."
"Oh." He felt his heart flutter as Kaveh leans in to kiss him. Alhaitham was probably in shock, just a little bit. He gets over it quickly though, deepening the kiss. He feels Kaveh smile and pull away and this time it was Alhaitham’s turn to pout. Kaveh laughs at that, cute, he thinks.
"Careful there, people might actually start to think you have a heart!" Kaveh teases, it's lighthearted and Alhaitham just smiles, kissing him again.
"Of course I have a heart, it's just always been with you."
