    And then there had been moments. Eye contact that lasted a few minutes too long. The way Hotch walked closer to Derek than he needed to when they walked to the showers or to the cafeteria, some of it was fear and earned trust, but some of it was more than that. It was heated looks and cautious questions, moments broken and burning...but it was finally the gym that sealed the deal, not too many days after the bar. Hotch was sore and the first time had been clumsy and a little desperate, like he was seeking refuge in Derek's arms, but it took on a life of its own over time.

     

     

    The gym provided the perfect backdrop, with guards down and adrenaline rushing.
