Work Text:
Jisung sighs as he rips the paper off of the box, throwing it into the large plastic bag that sits beside him, full of all his previous failed attempts at wrapping gifts. The bag sits there, taunting Jisung as it slowly falls, before hitting the ground, contents flying everywhere.
“Fuck off.” Jisung grits out, collecting up the scattered rubbish and putting it back inside the plastic bag. Once he’s gotten it to stand without falling and angering him further, he sighs once more.
Sitting back in front of the heap of presents he still has yet to wrap, Jisung pouts. Just why was he so bad at this? He picks his phone up from where he’d abandoned it on the floor and opens YouTube. Maybe watching a tutorial would help?
Jisung clicks on the first video he finds and is greeted by a kind sounding middle-aged lady. He watches the video through without doing anything at first, just trying to watch and learn that way, before restarting the video and trying again, following along this time. Once the five minutes are up, Jisung looks at his present with a grin.
A grin that quickly falls.
It’s a mess. It’s nothing like the lady’s present at the end of the video and Jisung thinks he is totally fucked. He wonders if maybe it’d be socially acceptable to just hand the present over without it being wrapped.
“No, that wouldn’t be okay.” Jisung mutters. He pulls up the video again, deciding to try one last final time. He tries, and fails, again.
“Fuck.” Jisung groans out before picking up his scissors and launching them across the room with an aggravated yell. Even in his anger, he appreciates that the handle of the scissors are what end up colliding with the wall, and not the blades. The sound that follows is a loud thud that echoes throughout his shared flat and he’s pretty sure in a couple of seconds, Felix, his adorable angel of a flatmate, will poke his cute head round the door and ask if Jisung is okay.
“Ji? You okay?” Speak of the devil. Well, angel, but still.
“Yeah, I’m fine Felix. Just frustrated.” Jisung says, eyes still fixated on the pile of presents in front of him. He’s pouting now, he knows he is, but he can’t bring himself to care at all. His holiday season wasn’t going well at all, and it had barely even started.
“What’s up?” Felix had walked into the room and was now sitting beside Jisung, placing one of his hands on his shoulder to offer some comfort.
“I can’t wrap presents. No matter how hard I try, it turns out horribly.” Jisung turns to look at the black-haired boy, the pout still on his lips. Felix has the audacity to awe at him and Jisung pushes him lightly.
“I’m sorry Jisung, you just look so adorable. But here, why don’t I wrap them for you? I’m pretty good at wrapping gifts!” Felix responds, eyes still taking in the cute pink hue on Jisung’s cheeks. Jisung sputters at his offer, eyes frantic and wild.
“No! Felix, no, that’s not fair to you, at all.” Jisung says, taking both of Felix’s hands in his own, rubbing at the soft skin with his thumbs. If literally any of their friends were around to see this act of affection, one of them would have a snarky comment to make or a whispered confession to hide away behind a cough. Jisung supposes that maybe he wasn’t that good at hiding his crush on the cute Australian boy, but he didn’t care. It's not as if his friends were any better!
“I don’t mind! Really, I don’t.” Felix says, and he’s still smiling sweetly at Jisung. He always does, pearly white teeth and sparkly eyes on display, and it never fails to make Jisung fall harder and harder for the sweet black-haired boy.
“Seriously? But, but I’ll feel bad. At least allow me to do something to make it up to you.” Jisung responds, eyes focused on Felix’s face as he pouts once more. The taller boy is so beautiful, it makes Jisung’s soul ache. He takes in the constellation of freckles across Felix’s cheeks and absentmindedly brings a finger up to poke at his right one. Jisung still has Felix’s left hand in his right one that’s pressed against his cheek, but the shocked noise that leaves the younger boy’s mouth at the contact makes Jisung giggle and pull away, hands still linked with Felix’s. Jisung falls backwards, a muffled thump sounding in the room as his back collides with the carpet and his laughter only seems to increase, hands finally disconnecting from Felix’s. Felix watches the sight with awe, before giggling too, and moving onto to his hands and knees, hovering above Jisung.
Jisung flushes at that, laughter quickly trailing off into an ‘eep!’ sound before he laughs again, this time the sound awkward. Felix’s own face is red, but he doesn’t care, not when Jisung is so damn adorable like this, cheeks crimson and bottom lip nervously trapped between his cute teeth.
“Fine, I have two things I want from you.” Felix finally responds and Jisung tilts his head in confusion, hair being messed up by the carpet below him, before realisation settles across his face. He shuffles up slightly and Felix decides to move from above him, allowing the squirrel-like boy to comfortably sit up. Jisung smiles appreciatively at him before speaking.
“What do you want?” He says, eyes wide and curious as he patiently waits for Felix to respond. Felix mentally wills his heart to not combust at how cute Jisung’s big, bright eyes look.
“I’ll tell you the other thing later but, whilst I wrap the presents for you, will you get dinner for us? I’m hungry.” Felix is pouting at Jisung now and Jisung knows the younger is hamming up his act to get Jisung to agree, but Jisung would’ve agreed anyways. He would do anything if it was Felix who asked.
“Sure, whaddya want?” Jisung says, pulling out his phone to keep his hands busy. The sight of Felix pouting makes every single part of Jisung’s brain scream ‘kiss him!’ and he’d not like to ruin a friendship tonight, thank you. Felix giggles and claps his hand, glad that Jisung had agreed without any questions or protests.
“Hmm, sushi?” Felix muses and Jisung nods, pulling up the page for a local sushi restaurant they know that serves the best food the pair have ever tasted. They go there so often the staff have started to refer to them by name, only member even creating a silly little ship name for them. He can only imagine what image the two of them create, always laughing together and clinging to each other.
Jisung shakes his head. He just has to focus on ordering food and maybe helping Felix out with the presents whilst waiting for the food to arrive. He places the order, not even asking Felix what he wants as he knows the younger’s order by heart.
“All ordered. Should be here soon. Thank you again, Felix, it means a lot.” Jisung says, looking up from his phone to smile at Felix, his typical gummy smile. The black-haired boy is already hard at work wrapping the first present and he looks up briefly to flash him a smile.
“Thank you Sungie. Now come here, you can still help me out.” He responds. Jisung shuffles closer and feels his face flush as his knee brushes against Felix’s. The littlest touch and Jisung is blushing? He hates it but also he knows it’s an effect only Felix has on him.
Tonight is gonna last forever, Jisung can already tell.

Felix manages to get through fourteen of Jisung’s presents by the time the food arrives and he happily welcomes the break. Feeling Jisung’s leg pressed up against his own was driving him crazy. The two sprawl out with their food on the living room floor, away from the presents, as they talk and eat. It’s a peaceful atmosphere – soft Christmas music plays in the background and Jisung is rambling on about his and Felix’s shared friends.
“Like seriously, it’s so obvious Hyunjin likes Seungmin, but Seungmin keeps insisting that Hyunjin likes Chan. As if Chan isn’t so obviously in love with Changbin. And then, and then, you have Hyunjin trying to hook up Seungmin and Jeongin and it’s painful as it is but it’s even worse when he tries it when Minho is around. I think Hyunjin is the only one who hasn’t figured out that Minho and Jeongin are dating yet.” Jisung is rambling in between bites of food and Felix watches him in adoration, providing affirmative noises here and there. However, it’s Jisung’s final sentence that catches Felix off guard.
“Minho and Jeongin are together? Since when?!” Felix proclaims. Jisung stares at him then, his mouth wide open and Felix blushes. He feels embarrassed for having not noticed, but he can’t really blame himself. Every time he’s around Minho and Jeongin at the same, it’s when Jisung is there as well, and he always finds himself whisked away to fantasyland with images of him and Jisung filling his head. It’s not a good time because his friends will always call him out for ‘running away with the faeries.’
“Okay, so maybe it’s not just Hyunjin.” Jisung mutters and Felix lets out a garbled noise of protest, smiling when Jisung laughs. The older coughs a few times, though, and Felix feels himself immediately fill with concern.
“Ah, are you okay, Jisung?” Felix asks, patting at Jisung’s back to help him. Jisung shoots him a thumbs up and once he’s sure that Jisung is okay, Felix settles back in his previous spot.
“Thank you, Lix. I’m okay.” Jisung smiles at him reassuringly before taking another bite of food and Felix smiles sweetly as he goes back to his own food. Jisung is so cute, especially when he’s eating, and his cheeks puff out all adorable and squirrel-like. It makes Felix’s heart race even more when Jisung does his little happy dance. It takes all of Felix’s willpower to not coo at the slightly older boy and kiss him completely and utterly numb.
“But seriously, I never would’ve gathered Minho and Jeongin would get together.” Felix says, lightly pouting, and Jisung looks up, mouth full of rice, Felix quickly bursting into giggles at the sight. Jisung swallows down his food, laughing lightly and wiping at his mouth before speaking.
“Yeah, they’ve been together since July.” Jisung laughs and Felix makes a startled noise, covering his mouth in embarrassment.
“Oh my god. How did I never realise?” Felix whines and Jisung laughs again, his eyes bright and joyous, and Felix feels his self control slip dangerously low. He focuses back on his food, trying to regain some sense of calmness so he doesn’t jump forward and kiss Jisung.
“You’re always in fairyland, that’s why.” Jisung teases and Felix pouts at him. Jisung’s eyes flick to his lips before looking back up again and Felix feels a shiver rattle down his spine at the simple action. Jisung goes back to eating, not having anything else to say, so Felix follows suit.
Once the two have finished up their food, they quickly clean up before returning to the presents.
“Come on, the quicker we get this done, the quicker I can get the second thing I want from you, and the quicker we can go to bed.” Felix says when Jisung whines at the prospect of helping with the presents again.
“Ugh, fine, let’s just get this over with.” Jisung says as he slumps to the floor, legs flaring off in awkward and uncomfortable-looking angles.
Felix is so nervous. He’s worried his second desire will make Jisung turn and run. He can only hope he hasn’t been reading the signs that Jisung likes him wrong. That’d just be mortifying.
If Jisung rejects him, Felix may just have to drop out and run all the way back to Australia. He wishes he was even half joking about it.

Jisung sighs as he helps Felix. They’re on the sixth present since they restarted after dinner and his brain is bubbling up with curiosity. He mentally decides to throw caution to the wind and let go of the present he’s holding. Felix looks at him, a confused look on his face. Jisung smiles at him, a cheeky tilt of his lips, before asking his question.
“What’s the second thing you want? I wanna know.” Jisung says, pouting to get Felix to cave in, just like the younger had done to him earlier. He can see Felix’s anticipation and anxiety build up and Jisung goes to speak up again when Felix responds.
“You promise you won’t hate me?” His voice is quiet and small and Jisung is worried. What could Felix possibly want that would make him this nervous to ask Jisung? That would make Jisung hate him?
“I, I promise, Lix.” Jisung says, reaching his hand out to take up Felix’s again. The younger allows him but when he looks up, he has tears in his eyes and Jisung panics. “What’s wrong?”
“Will you,” Felix swallows, ignoring Jisung’s question as he tries to build up the courage to speak again. “The second thing I want is for you to kiss me.” It’s whispered and so quiet that Jisung nearly misses it, but he hears the younger’s request and gasps. Felix tenses and goes to pull away but, for once, Jisung’s instincts are on his side, and he pulls the black-haired boy back to him.
Jisung cups Felix’s face in his hands, heart shattering at the tears steadily making their way down Felix’s beautiful face. Jisung pouts, gently stroking the apples of Felix’s cheeks, before leaning closer, pressing their noses together.
“Pretty angels like you shouldn’t be crying.” Jisung whispers in the space between them before leaning forward and kissing Felix, heart leaping in his chest when Felix’s small hands come up to grab at his arms as he kisses Jisung back.
It feels like all of heaven is shining down on them at this moment. They kiss and kiss, only parting to catch their breath before immediately being wrapped up in each other again. Jisung feels addicted to the taste of Felix, addicted to the feeling of Felix’s lips against his own, completely and utterly addicted to the way Felix’s hands tighten around his arms when Jisung pushes his tongue into Felix’s mouth, the younger happily letting him do so. At one point, Jisung can feel himself falling backward and he pulls away from the kiss with a laugh when he inevitably collides with the floor. Felix, who’s eyes are still glassy with unshed tears, giggles at him before hovering over him again, just like they had done before. The energy zipping between them is different this time, and Jisung feels like his heart is gonna burst.
“Come here.” Jisung says, lightly tugging at Felix’s necklace to get the younger to come down so he can kiss him again. His right hand goes up to Felix’s hair, hands quickly getting entangled in the strands as he lightly pulls and the soft noises Felix makes in response fog up Jisung’s brain, making him unable to think of anything other than Felix. The two find themselves so caught up in each other that they fail to hear the door opening and their six friends entering their apartment until a cough pulls them apart.
What a sight we must make, Jisung thinks. He’s sprawled out on the floor, left hand still buried in Felix’s black hair from where he'd been tugging at it only moments before, the fingers on his left hand entwined with the necklace around Felix’s neck, and the younger boy is straddling him, face flushed red from being caught, lips red and slick with spit from Jisung’s messy kisses. They both stare at the newcomers in shock.
In the doorway stands their friends, all looking at the pair with a smirk.
“So, you guys finally figured this shit out then?” Minho says, and Jisung just stares at Felix with a fond look in his eyes as the younger collapses on his chest in a fit of giggles.
“Oh god, they’re still deep in the lovesick phase. Gross, get me out of here.” Changbin says, fake gagging and playfully turning to leave. He doesn’t get very far as Chan wraps his left arm around his waist and tugs him back. Everyone laughs as Changbin flusters but doesn’t put up a fight, allowing Chan to back hug him.
“Yeah, and you say we’re bad.” Jisung snarks, shuffling to sit up, this time keeping Felix in his lap. His hands wrap protectively around Felix, and when he makes the realisation that Felix’s waist fits perfectly in his hands, Jisung feels adoration and joy bubble up in his brain.
“No you two are 100% the w-worst.” Changbin responds. The bite in his words is completely negated by the stutter that leaves his lips when Chan buries his face in Changbin’s neck, both their cheeks bright red. Hyunjin and Seungmin both look at the pair jealously and Minho and Jeongin are just laughing at the situation.
“Oh whatever. Now we just gotta get Jinnie and Minnie together.” Jisung says and laughs when both boys fluster at the mention of the two of them together.
“Felix, politely move so I can kill your boyfriend.” Seungmin says, shooting daggers at Jisung as he squeaks and hides behind Felix’s form. Felix can only laugh at that, Jisung peaking his head out from hiding to stare at the boy as he laughs. Changbin makes a noise of protest that has Minho laughing before he speaks up.
“You’re whipped, Han Jisung!”
