Work Text:
I've wanted to tell you for a long time
The figure stepped out of their closet, holding a ribbon, light pink.
About the night that I lost it
The figure.
Amia.
Akiyama Mizuki.
It's not a sad story, and I'm gonna miss you
They sighed, staring at it, running their hand through it. Soft, silky. Today they had their favourite outfit on, complete with their favourite ribbon. The one their sister gave them.
It's okay
Mizuki smiled bittersweetly, the ribbon in their hands was long, they could’ve used it for dress.
“Because actually, K, Enanan, Amia… You all want to disappear more than anyone else.”
Words said oh so long ago, yet they still held the utmost truth to them. Maybe not for the other two but for Amia who still hadn’t gotten past their problems, for Amia who’d hide something from the person who’d wait forever, just so they could be with her forever.
On days when I can't sleep with the lights turned off
I try to escape into a cup of coffee that's gone cold
Mizuki let out a pitiful chuckle, finally standing up, bringing their chair to the center of their room, climbing on top of it…
Tying the ribbon. A pretty bow, fitted ever so perfectly around their neck. A swift motion, moving the chair from underneath them. This would be the end.
I drop the needle on a record I've been borrowing
I can start dancing with those pathetic steps
Consciousness flickering, they heard footsteps. That was strange, no one else was home. Mind growing hazy, those footsteps finally reached their destination.
I've been waiting for this for a long, long time
The dawn of a new day and this day that won't go away
Another figure. Brown eyes filled with determination, fear and worry. Beautiful brown hair, rushing towards them. Who was it? Everything was all a hazy blur.
Tonight, today, on this night
Even if it sinks
“You're joking, right? There's nothing else to it. I'm gonna wait for as long as I need to until you're ready to talk to me about this... I'll just have to wait patiently by your side until then. Oh, FYI, I'm not letting you run away from this or me, okay?”
And then, the ribbon was untied. They felt themself fall. Into the arms of that figure.
Surely the lights that illuminate the shadows of the city
Name once lost to time. Enanan. Ena. Shinonome Ena.
“You fucking idiot, never do that again.” She was crying, of course she was.
“How did you…?” She just hugged them tighter, never letting go, never leaving their side as the two sank to the floor.
They looked softer than yesterday
A smile. Bittersweet. As the two shared tears, neither of them uttering a word, just holding each other.
I'll close my eyes and fall asleep
The ribbon was tied, then untied.
Give me your night
