The first born has a disease, an abnormality with his blood. He needs blood transfusion every month to continue living a normal life. But his blood type is so rare they had searched the whole country, even other countries for donors. One doctor suggested that if he has siblings he may not need to get blood transfusion from others. His parents were reluctant to try and conceive again thinking the new baby may have the same abnormality but for the sake of their first born, they tried again.
The second born was still a boy and he was a healthy baby. Unfortunately he did not have the blood his older brother needed. The doctors said that their first born may only have 5 to 10 years to live if he can't get the right blood. So the couple tried again and conceived.
