Kissing was disgusting. The amount of germs in a human mouth was obscene, so who would want to double that? Wednesday had never understood people's insistence that it 'felt good', it looked gross, sounded gross, and probably was gross too.
Damn if she didn't hate being wrong. She was stood on the balcony with Enid at her side, the other girl was rambling about the summer break and how her scars had healed a little more, and Wednesday wanted to listen, but she was just distracted.
Ever since she walked into their room and saw Enid sat on her black bed, smile splitting her face, uncaring about the silver scars down the side and under her shirt, the girl was as happy as ever to see Wednesday. What made her pause and think, was the ache in her chest as the girl stood to hug her. She hadn't hesitated, not even a flinch, and had just hugged Enid back.
That was an hour ago, and now they watched the sun set into the trees over the hill. Wednesday examined her actions, and came to the unfortunately expected conclusion that she… liked her roommate.
Gross.
"Enid?"
The werewolf smiled and turned her head.
"Yeah?"
"I may be able to ask you an unusual question, a favor perhaps. If a… line is crossed, feel free to tell me so."
Enid frowned a little but nodded again.
"Okay… what's the favor?"
One last shaky breath, and then she'd reveal more about herself than ever before.
"Could I kiss you?"
Anyone else would blush bright red at the request, even possibly due from embarrassment. But not Enid, not Wednesday. The wolf turned to face her, lips quaking in a small smile.
"You… why?"
Wednesday fought off the urge to look down at her lips.
"Because, despite the training I have over my body, I was unable to resist hugging you. I've deduced that this is for one of two reasons. One, you have cast a spell on me. Two, I have feelings for you. Kissing would clarify this for me, if you understand?"
Enid looked nervous, in an excited way, and she nodded, raising her hands slowly.
"Can I touch you? Nothing weird, just… feels wrong not to, while kissing, you know?"
Wednesday hated how eager she felt to abide by that.
"Of course."
Like she was in a slow motion haze, Enid lifted a hand to Wednesday's cheek, leaning in while the other rested on her shoulder. Wednesday had her arms by her side, ramrod straight, her eyes staying open as Enid's closed.
It was gentle, quick, maybe too quick. There were no butterflies or eruptions, but Wednesday couldn't deny that the warmth in her chest increased in size. Enid pulled back, hands shaking slightly on her face.
"Was… did you-?"
"Try again, longer… please."
She Enid did as told. She kissed Wednesday softly, stepping closer as, to her utter shock and joy, Wednesday's arms bent up and held her waist, holding her closer. They stumble to the side, leaning against the balcony side with Wednesday between her and the stone. She pulled back for air, when Wednesday shocked them both, following her, a hand reaching into golden hair and pulling her back. Enid opened her eyes in shock, to find Wednesday's contently closed.
They pass the time, kissing, never moving at a dangerous pace. Her heart raced as Wednesday's slowly increased, lips burning with each second passing, Enid's cheeks flushing when she decided wow I really like this.
Finally, they pull apart. Wednesday sat on the ledge with Enid's hands on either side. They stayed in each other's personal space, breathing heavily as the ramifications of what they had done set in, how there was no going back to ignoring unknowingly shared feelings and thoughts. Neither spoke, Enid to not break the spell, and Wednesday as she couldn't get her head to focus on anything other than Enid's touch.
"Do you know how many germs we just exchanged? The thought alone is dastardly."
Enid glanced away from the shorter girl.
"Oh, I… no, I don't."
Wednesday shook her head with a small scoff.
"Well, we're certainly infested now. So disgusting…"
Enid stepped back and scratched her arm, an ache holding her heart in its grip.
"I… I'm sorry, do you… do you not want to do it again?"
Wednesday snapped her eyes up and locked her in place with her stare. She shook her head and wrapped her arms around Enid's waist, hesitating before leaning her forehead against the blonde's.
"It's disgusting… let's do it again."
Wednesday rolled her eyes at Enid's smirk, standing tall on her tiptoes and kissing her again, with no plan on stopping any time soon.
