With Viggo now gone and their base destroyed, the dragon riders take refuge in Berk. Now they are in the air flying in silence but there is one thing all the dragon riders have in mind.
“So,” Tuffnut starts “Are you gonna tell your dad Hiccup? Or does he already know?”
“Tuff if my dad knew about me and Astrid then the whole village would know,” Hiccup answers.
“But you're going to tell him right? Cause I don’t think I’ll be able to keep this a secret” Tuffnut said.
“Yeah, I mean this is big news.” Ruffnut says, agreeing with her brother.
“I think you should tell your dad Hiccup, he would be so excited” Fishlegs says.
“Uh why- why would he be so excited?” Astrid asks, arching an eyebrow
“Because it’s you two! We’ve been waiting for you guys to get together since we were fifteen” Snotlout says, butting into the conversation.
Hiccup and Astrid look at each other and blush. In truth they have been a bit slow getting together but they are now and that's all that matters.
“Okay so what if we took a while, we’re together now” Hiccup says smiling at Astrid
“Yeah but if you guys were together then instead of now we wouldn’t be having this conversation. It would have saved you from all the questions I’m going to ask you. A Lot of questions may I add” Tuffnut say, matter of factory.
“Nah, I prefer seeing all this awkwardness from them. It's so funny seeing Astrid blush” Ruffnut said.
“Would it be funny if I punched you in the face so hard you fell off your dragon?” Astrid threatens.
“Anyway” Fishlegs butts in.
“Yeah whatever, I only have one question to ask you guys” Snotlout says. Hiccup and Astrid share a look; this was not going to end well.
“How did you guys confess?” Snotlout asks.
“Oh uh- well” Hiccup stutters, not expecting this question.
“We got together after Gothi fixed my eyes” Astrid answers bluntly, already done with this conversation.
“SINCE THEN?!” They screeched.
“It wasn’t that long ago” Hiccup insists, “It was like what 2-3 months ago?” He asks Astrid who nods before answering.
“It was 3 months ago, so not that long ago”
“Are you kidding me? You two have been keeping this a secret for that long?” Snotlout asks in disbelief
“How did Hiccup lie to us for that long and we didn’t notice he was lying” Tuffnut asks
“Hey!”
“I know right, he is the worst liar in the entire Archipelago” Ruff says, nodding at her brother's question. Hiccup glares at the two. Astrid laughs and Hiccup shoots her a look.
“What? It’s true babe”
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Fishlegs asks, a sad look on his face. “Did you guys not trust us to keep this a secret?”
Everyone looks at the two in question, wanting an answer.
“We didn’t want to tell you guys because we just wanted to share it with each other.” Astrid says
“Yeah I mean, this is very new to us and I guess we just didn’t want to mess up this new relationship” Hiccup says, agreeing with his girlfriend
“That’s fair, ” Fishlegs says. “I mean it is your relationship, not ours”
“What it is totally our relationship” Tuffnut says.
“Uh no, it’s Hiccup and Astrids” Fishlegs says, giving the boy twin a questioning look.
“It’s totally our relationship, if there's a couple in a group we’re ALL a couple” Ruffnut says.
The twins just received weird looks as answers.
“Berk’s in sight,” Hiccup says, ignoring that entire bit of the conversation.
“Wanna race?” Astrid asks her friends.
“Your on!” “Yeah let’s do it!”
The dragon riders race to Berk, awaiting the welcoming of their families and awkward conversations to come.
