“What do you mean ‘a baby’?”
“What do you think I mean!?” Chris snapped, a little harsher than he’d intended to. Carefully he balanced the baby in his arms, the phone pinned between his shoulder and his ear, and tried to cover up the slightly hysterical note in his voice. “A baby! A little person! A tiny human!” He couldn’t stop staring at the baby, the tiny little hands that looked too small to even be real, the scrunched up little face that was admittedly kind of adorable.
