Figured I'd get this out before we cry/laugh/celebrate tomorrow. I am forever and eternally thankful for the character of Amanda Rollins becoming such an impactful part of my life, and it is genuinely incredible to see her get her happy ending after it all.

Enjoy <3

Work Text:

Dominick Carisi, Jr. Look how far we’ve come.

I think I’ve loved you longer than I liked you.

I remember the day we met: me, with the indifference of someone who thought they knew it all,

And you, with unbridled enthusiasm… and that godawful mustache.

In all honesty, I thought you’d be out of there a few days later. You’d get shortlisted for some vague office job at 1PP, and you’d never look back.

But you did the exact opposite.

You made yourself at home.

You made yourself my home.

And coming from someone whose home was anything but a home, for a while, that’s saying something.

You got into my space.

Into my head.

And despite my best efforts, you refused to leave.

Dominick Carisi Jr., I am here today to thank you for that.

You became my best friend.

My confidant.

You knew what was going on in my head before I even did.

You supported me without taking control, which is something my past relationships all lacked.

You guided me without pushing.

You held me when I needed you, without ever asking for anything in return.

And Dominick Carisi Jr., I am here today to announce before the court and all our friends that I take you as my husband.

And I hope that one day, I can make it up to you.

Not because you asked for it, or demanded it.

But because you deserve every happiness the world can offer.

And I hope I can become a small part of it.

Amanda Rollins.

I remember telling you a while ago that a partnership is a lot like a marriage.

I’m here today to tell you that I was wrong.

It is so much more.

A partner is someone who will make spaghetti with you after a tough case.

Someone who will fight you in the middle of a busy office, not because they’re mad, but because they care too much.

A partner is someone who will trust you wholeheartedly, even if you don’t think you deserve it.

I know that after tonight, you’ll be so much more than my wife.

You’ll be my partner.

And I will not follow you through hell and back, because I’ll be standing right there beside you.

I vow to be your sword and shield, your biggest cheerleader, and the arms that you come home to every night and wake up in every morning.

I vow to love your daughters—our daughters—as much as I have since the days they were born.

Amanda Rollins, I have loved you for years.

And for a while, I was okay with just being your friend.

But God, does it feel good to love you, and to be loved by you.

And I vow to find new ways to show you how much I love you every single day.

I am so proud of everything you’ve done, and everything that you’re going to do, because you’re an incredible person.

I have a feeling that you can handle anything life throws at you with grace and resilience.

But I’m the luckiest man alive to be able to be right there next to you as you take on the world.

Amanda Rollins, do you take Dominick Carisi, Jr. to be your lawfully-wedded husband, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?

I do.

And Dominick Carisi, Jr., do you take Amanda Rollins to be your lawfully-wedded wife, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?

I do.

Then by the power vested in me by the State of New York, I pronounce you husband and wife.

You may kiss your bride.
