Meguru's Fool Proof Guide To Getting The Guy

Summary:

Bachira saw him first. Through a large window, the blue boy was like a painting as he danced. The mirror behind him danced in time with him like a shadow of the blue boy. Against the pale wood of the walls and dark wood, the window framed him making him the perfect picture. Never before did he wish he was a photographer more than today.

Chapter 1: Crushing

Chapter Text

Street dancing is Bachira’s life. He lived for the impromptu shows he and Chigiri would put on. Making his own dance moves and making new dances with footwork only he could do. Gathering everyone’s attention and being the star of the show for as long as the song played. Chigiri had been a dance partner for as long as he’s known the boy. His fast movements and skill meant he could keep up with Bachira easily.

And if you asked Bachira before today he would’ve said that Hyouma Chigiri was the only person he’d enjoy dancing with. He loved his team but they were closer to background dancers with a solo rather than someone able to keep up with him. It was after the show Bachira saw him.

Walking back from the plaza, Bachira, and his closest friends Chigiri and Gin Gagamaru, had broken off from the rest of the team. They did this often, choosing to explore the city a bit more before heading back to the apartment they shared. Every day they’d find a new path home, seeing more sights and creating more moves for later shows. There was something so relaxing about it that had he not heard the music from the studio, Bachira would’ve walked right past the place without care and never seen the blueberry boy.

He was dressed in a tight white shirt, pulled taunt against the lean muscles he had, if he had to guess, they were from swimming or another sport that put focus on the legs. Leggings that acted like a second skin and were almost as dark as his hair. Hardwood floors that made noise every time he landed after a graceful jump, with walls made of what looked like pale, maybe bleached wood. The window frame had details etched into every part, creating an ornate frame Bachira felt better suited to a mirror or picture frame.

The blueberry boy moved around the studio with practiced and precise movements, every step having meaning, having a purpose. When he stopped, Bachira couldn’t help but think that he belonged in a painting. Never before did Meguru Bachira think of owning a camera but today? Today, he wished more than anything that he had one to get this scene saved forever in perfect clarity.

The blueberry boy held the pose for a few seconds, panting heavily as he did. Bachira stared for what felt like forever and truly he wished it was forever, because the second the blueberry boy broke from the pose, his eyes, his beautiful sapphire eyes looked up and landed on Bachira. He didn’t get the chance to be embarrassed due to Gagamaru picking him up and carrying him away.

Neither of them spoke, they didn't even get to continue this new path home. Instead, they cut onto the shortcut and before he knew it he was sitting on the couch being stared down by Chigiri and Gagamaru.

“What was that? Did you not hear me calling you?” Chigiri asked looking at Bachira like he gained a second head. His voice twinged with a familiar annoyance that came up when his time was being wasted or Bachira wasn’t cooperating.

“I heard the music from that studio and from there I kinda just spaced out. Sorry.”

“You didn’t look spaced out.” Gagamaru chimed in. He was on his back flat against the floor, in some strange stretch that Bachira couldn’t comprehend. When did he even get on the floor? “You were staring really hard at that dancer and your eyes tracked him the entire time.”

“How are you doing that?” Bachira asked as he witnessed Gagamaru’s body contort more and more. “Doesn’t that hurt??”

“Hurts as much as a pinch does. I was gonna be a contortionist if dancing didn’t work out ya know?”

“Surprised that wasn’t your first option…”

“Many people are.”

“Enough with Gin’s second career option. Let’s talk about your little crush.” Chigiri said. He sat across from Bachira, legs crosses neatly as he gave the shorter a knowing look. They sat in silence for a few beats before Bachira caved and let out a heavy sigh.

“Okay yeah, it might be a crush but listen-”

“How do you get on a person whose name you don’t even know?”

“He was so pretty Hyouma! Big blue eyes and short dark hair that only ramed his face but also shined blue when the sun hit it. Not to mention everything he wore was so tight, I don’t even think I own clothes that form-fitting…” Bachira’s ramble slowed as he looked at Chigiri and Gagamaru, whose faces were wide-eyed and stunned. They looked at each other before looking back at Bachira who tilted his head in confusion.

Gagamaru stood from his position on the floor and walked to the kitchen, pulling his long dyed hair up and into a ponytail. He made a clicking sound and with that left Bachira alone with Chigiri.

“Oh my, this is so much worse than I thought.” He mumbled. “How are you even planning on talking to him at the very least.”

Bachira smiled wide at his friend, jumping up with a glee he knew made the redhead worry. “Lucky for you I have a plan. I call it, ‘Meguru’s Fool Proof Guide To Getting The Guy!”
