Work Text:
Bo had never been a huge fan of doctors. Even before she had been in Death Watch, going to the doctor caused her anxiety, but it got much worse when she was there. There she always knew that Pre was their main priority, and they would have no problem making her suffer if that was what he wanted.
And so when Pre dragged her there after he found out she was late, her stomach was twisting and she honestly thought that she might be sick. It was worse because Pre was with her. Maybe if he hadn’t, she would have gotten a doctor who wouldn’t have put his demands first.
Probably not but maybe.
Bo sighed and touched her stomach as she sat in the medical wing as the Death Watch headquarters. Pre was next to her and was happy, which was rare for him, but it also didn’t surprise her given everything.
He grinned and touched her stomach, pushing down on it. “Aren’t you glad that I gave you such a gift, Bo-Katan?”
Bo stared up at him. This wasn’t something that she wanted. This was something that she had no interest in. At least not with him.
Not with anyone for a long time too.
Still here she was… most likely pregnant.
“Yeah, it’s great, Pre,” Bo said sarcastically. She was on birth control, not that Pre knew that. Pre was…well, he wouldn’t like that at all.
“A Life Day gift,” Pre said. And they had fucked on that day, but that didn’t mean for sure that was when they had conceived their baby. If she was even pregnant. Bo and Pre… well… sometimes she cared for him, but she also detested him at times. They still had sex more than she would have liked.
“Yes, how wonderful,” Bo said, swinging her legs back and forth as she sat on the medical table. What would it even mean to have Pre’s child? She would have just gotten an abortion, but he had found out she was late and now if she was pregnant, he would know.
Plus, to get an abortion, she wouldn’t be able to have it done at Death Watch’s camp. Maybe normal doctors wouldn’t tell their patients’ secrets, but here they would tell Pre.
Pre leaned close to her and then laughed. “You know after you have the baby, we should have something done to you.”
Bo narrowed her eyes. She didn’t know what he was talking about. “What do you mean?”
“We’ll make sure they do something to make you tighter for me,” Pre said and then he grinned. “The tighter the better.”
Bo wanted to hit him. She doubted that could be good for her. Not that Pre gave a kriffing shit about that. He only cared about himself.
Yes, in a way he did care about Mandalorians, but sometimes it seemed like he thought of her as a New Mandalorian still. He thought she was a good warrior, but still couldn’t move on from her being Satine’s sister.
“Tighter? You mean—”
“Yes, in bed. We’ll have the doctor make it so you’re tight and it’ll…” But he didn’t finish because that was when the doctor came in. Then it got so much worse. “After Bo has my son, I want her to be tighter so it’s better for me.”
Why did Pre even think that they were having a son? If she was pregnant, it was only about five or so weeks.
“We could have done that but—” the doctor tried to say.
“But what?” Pre asked, not letting him finish, even though he probably had been about to give the answer that he wanted.
“Bo-Katan isn’t pregnant,” he said.
And just like that it felt like a weight had been lifted from her. She wasn’t pregnant. Stars. It was a miracle. Now this was a true gift. She didn’t want to have a baby. Not anytime soon and not with Pre Vizsla.
Though she couldn’t imagine being with anyone else. Even if Pre broke up with her, she doubted that he would want her to date anyone else.
But at least she wasn’t pregnant.
“But she…” Pre said, looking at Bo and then at the doctor. “She—”
“Sorry, Pre,” Bo said, trying to look like she really was sorry about this turn of events. Really, she was grateful. At least her luck hadn’t gone completely to shit. She must have been late because of stress or some other issue. She had been eating less recently and even lost some weight. Maybe it had to do with that.
After Pre and the doctor spoke more. He said things obviously meant to be encouraging to Pre like how Bo was young, and she would probably get pregnant soon. Bo was just grateful that neither found out she was on birth control. This doctor must be an idiot or didn’t test for that. She didn’t believe at all that he had found out and just decided not to mention it.
No, no one in Death Watch, except Bo’s Nite Owls and Ursa, would pick her over. Pre Vizsla. That would just never happen.

Years went by and things changed. The whole Galaxy changed. Soon decades went by and yet Bo was still fighting for Mandalore, but in a different way than before. Bo’s time in Death Watch… she wasn’t proud of that, but she also knew that she couldn’t change the past. She couldn’t erase what had happened and what she had done.
She was a better person now. She wasn’t the teenager, barely more than a child, that she had been before. Now she was a grown woman.
Despite that though she never completely overcome her anxiety.
And when she got pregnant in her forties, it got worse. This whole pregnancy… she hadn’t planned it. She and Din weren’t even together. They had just a one night stand with each other. Really it had almost been more than that if Axe and Koska didn’t always show up when they were trying to have fun.
Despite not planning it, she decided to go through with the pregnancy. She and Din did end up getting together too. They broke up a bit before the twins were born and then got back together when they reunited right after.
Bo had almost died. She and Grogu had just barely managed to escape the Empire and she would have died if he hadn’t healed her after having the girls. She would always be grateful to that kid. He was certainly special.
Now they had been back on the ship for an hour and five of them were together. Bo was holding little Snow. She couldn’t believe how perfect she was. Both Satie and Snow were perfect and so sweet.
“We should take them to the doctor,” Din said as he rocked little Satie. She was the bigger of the two twins but they were both small. Just over six pounds. “We should make sure that they’re okay.”
Bo nodded, even though she was sure that Grogu would have reacted differently if they weren’t.
Especially since it was clear that he already loved the twins. He couldn’t stop looking at them and Din had let him hold them earlier. Din had been right next to Grogu and had helped him during that of course. Bo imagined Grogu would have used the Force if he was in danger of dropping the twins but still.
When they got to the doctor, the five of them also went. Grogu could have stayed with Axe or Koska but he insisted on coming. He didn’t know many words, but he had a way of getting his point across.
The twins were looked at first and they were perfect. The doctors even said that they were fairly large for twins. Bo was happy about that. When she first had Snow, she hadn’t cried at first. She had been terrified that she would die.
Like so many other people she had known.
Hearing that the twins were healthy, it was wonderful. The best gift.
Then it was her time to be examined. Bo’s stomach twisted. She really didn’t see the point to this. She was fine. Grogu had healed her. And the Force was strong with that kid. Probably stronger with him than it even was with Ahsoka.
“It’ll be okay, cyar’ika,” Din said as he sat next to her. He leaned close and kissed her cheek. “You know I’ll be here the whole time too.”
“I’m really fine,” Bo said.
“Bo good,” Grogu said as if he was a wise old man. He was technically older than both of them despite that he was a toddler.
“See, Grogu says that I’m okay,” Bo said. “So obviously I am.”
“We should just make sure,” Din said as he touched a strand of her red hair.
The doctor came in and he smiled at the two of them. Even that caused her stomach to twist. She really was fine anyway so this was just a waste. She understood why Din worried, but he didn’t need to be.
And at first when they talked, everything seemed fine though. Bo gave short answers. Maybe she should have been more detailed, but she hated doctors. Almost every memory of them was bad. But she was starting to think this might not be that bad.
But then he smiled at Din and just the way that he did, Bo knew that this wouldn’t be good.
“Depending on how she healed, there is something that we might be able to do to make it more pleasurable for you when the two of you have intercourse. If you would like, Mr. Djarin.”
Bo’s blood ran cold, and she knew exactly what he was speaking of. Pre had wanted the same thing one of the times he thought she had been knocked up. And she was going to tell this doctor exactly her opinions. Bo didn’t understand exactly what it would mean for her when she was a teenager. She did now, and how dare the doctor even suggest something like this. Obviously, he didn’t know who she really was, but she didn’t care. It was messed up no matter what.
Of course, he didn’t even say this to Bo, but instead to Din since apparently it was the man’s opinions that mattered and not the woman whose damn body it was.
Well, this doctor was going to pay for it. He’d be lucky if she didn’t shoot him.
But before she could do anything, Din reacted.
“What? I just want my girlfriend to be healthy,” Din said, glaring at him. The whole room was tense. “I don’t want anything done to her that might hurt her.”
“But—”
“I don’t care how “pleasurable” it would be for me. You saying that… Is that even legal? If you hurt Bo then I’ll—”
“It was just a joke,” the doctor said, letting out a nervous laugh. Bo doubted it was. He probably would have wanted to have the husband stitch done to her or some other updated version of it. It never would have happened regardless of what Din said though. She would have killed anyone who tried to do that on her.
Frankly if Din had said yes on that, she would have made him regret it too.
But the fact he didn’t… the fact that he thought about her and not himself… she loved him.
**
“Going to that doctor was a mistake,” Din ranted when the doctor left. He was furious about what happened. Really furious, which was something since he didn’t get angry much. “We should have stayed in the Mandalore sector. We should have stayed on Krownest.”
Bo looked at him.
“How kriffing dare he say something like that,” Din said.
Bo nodded and then actually smiled. “Thank you for standing up for me.”
He squeezed her hands. “Obviously I would.”
She really loved him.
**
They left soon after that. Bo and the twins were all healthy. Din was still angry about what happened though. Probably angrier than Bo really. Maybe Bo wasn’t as mad because she was used to this sort of thing. She had been one of Pre Vizsla’s “women” in Death Watch after all.
Din, Axe, and Koska were going to watch the twins for awhile now and Bo was finally going to be able to get some rest. She had barely laid on the bed when she fell asleep. It felt like she had been awake for years.
When she finally did wake up, she smelled something amazing. She stood up and touched her stomach, wondering what it could be.
And as if on command, Din walked in. He was carrying a plate with cupcakes. He smiled at her. “You’re awake.”
She nodded and touched her stomach. It was so strange that her little girls weren’t in there anymore. It would be nice being able to actually move like a normal person again though. Hopefully it wouldn’t take long for her to become the fighter that she normally was again.,
She missed combat.
“I brought you something,” Din said as he sat on their bed. “Cupcakes. I made them especially for you. Look, they’re even blue.”
She nodded and picked one up. She took a bite out of it. Din wasn’t some master baker so it wasn’t perfect, but it was sweet and good. And he had made it. So she liked it.
No, she loved it.
She touched his face. “I love you, Din Djarin.”
He leaned closer to her. “I love you too.”
And then they kissed.
And despite everything the Galaxy had thrown at her for decades, she felt bliss. She was so lucky to have Din and their little family.
Luckier than she ever thought she would get.
Having a family with Din Djarin truly was the best gift.
