Fun While Waiting for Paint to Dry

Summary:

After painting their twins' room, Bo-Katan and Din Djarin decide to have some fun. The fun might not exactly be PG.

I put this in my Snowy Day series, but I think it's stand alone.

Notes:

I wrote this for the supportive writing reddit group. The prompt was Watching Paint Dry. I put this in my Snowy Day series, but I think it's stand alone. All you need to know is Bo-Katan and Din are together now and have twin daughters. Also they are going to rule Mandalore together, which I hope happens in canon.

Work Text:

The palace had been rebuilt. It wasn’t exactly like it had been when Bo had been a child, but it was going to be her family’s home, and she couldn’t wait. Bo, Din, Grogu, and the twins had all been living in their ship which had been fine, but she was ready for a real home.

Yes, she had hers on Kalevala, which she loved, but now she and her family would be back on Sundari, since she and Din were going to be ruling together.

Today she and Din would be painting the girls’ room. Korkie was going to be babysitting Grogu and the twins so it was just Bo and Din. It was nice to have some time alone with Din, even if they would be painting.

Bo had never done any painting before except on her armor and when she had been a child. She had never painted a room.

But she found it fun to do with Din. They had decided on a yellow for their girls’ room. Painting was more fun than she thought it would be.

After they finished, she grabbed his hands and pulled him close. She loved how he smelled and how it felt with him close to her, even when they had their armor on.

Though she loved how it felt even more when they didn’t have their clothes on.

“The girls will like the room,” Din said as he held her close. He put his hands on her lower back.

She looked into his brown eyes. She was glad that he now wasn’t always wearing his helmet. Until recently, he had still worn it most of the time. She thought that it would be hard for him not to feel uncomfortable without it.

After all, he had spent so many years being told that he had to wear it. That he couldn’t show his face to others if he wanted to remain a Mandalorian.

She was glad he knew that was okay now. That he wasn’t brainwashed like he used to be. Now he knew he could decide what was right for him.

“You think so?” Bo asked, even though right now she didn’t want to think too much about the room. No, there were other things that she wanted to do right now.

“I know so,” Din said.

Bo nodded and looked up into his eyes. She liked their height difference. She was tall, but he was still taller than her. He wasn’t too much taller than her, but still a bit. The perfect amount. Really, she liked most things about Din.

Not that he couldn’t be aggravating, but sometimes she even liked that part of him because it was what made him Din.

“You know now we need to wait for the paint to dry,” Bo said. They were planning to put some other items on the wall. Things that would make the girls happy. They loved animals even now. Snow especially did.

Din nodded.

“That could take awhile,” Bo said, trying to pull him even closer to him. She nuzzled his neck and then kissed it.

Din lowered his hands. “And do you have any plans over what we should do?”

Bo smirked and nodded. She didn’t even bother answering and kissed him passionately. He returned it and soon they were doing things other than just kissing. They did leave the girls’ room and she was sure that they would have gone to their room.

“Let’s just do it in here,” Bo said as she pushed him onto the couch in the living room. “Maybe I want us to have sex in every room in the palace.”

That sounded like something that people who were in young and in love would do, but Bo was in love. Madly and deeply in love. She might not be too young, but being with Din… it made her feel young. It didn’t make her feel like she was in her forties.

No, she felt like she was in her twenties.

Except she hadn’t done anything like this when she had been in her twenties. When she had been in her twenties, she had been too busy fighting the Empire.

Now she could make up for lost time.

She had every plan to do that.

When they were finished making love, Bo smiled and kissed him on the lips. Sleeping with him felt right. She didn’t know how she had gotten so lucky after everything that had happened.

“I love you,” Bo said as she looked into his eyes. She loved his eyes.

“I love you too,” Din said, which was something that she would never get tired of hearing.

She grinned and kissed him again. What they had done was a lot more fun than watching paint dry would have been. And it wasn’t like they had to go check on the paint right now. The paint would be fine for awhile.

“You know we still have some time before the girls and Grogu will be back,” Bo said with a mischievous grin.

Yes, they might have already had sex, but that didn’t mean that they couldn’t have some more fun. But really doing almost anything with Din was fun.

But there were somethings that were a lot harder to do with the children around, and Bo was hoping that they could do more of those.

After all, sometimes the two of them did deserve adult time, especially after all that they had gone through.

“Good,” Din said.

Bo grinned and kissed him again. She loved him so much.

And to think that if things had gone different then she might not have even met him. She would never stop being grateful that the two of them met.

And that not only were they together, but they had a family together. A family that was everything to Bo.
