The campers were eating breakfast together, everyone was in such a good mood, especially after the previous night. Lake was shifting uncomfortably in her seat and Aiden took notice of this.
“Hey you okay?” Aiden asked, taking a seat beside her. Lake jumped at the sudden voice.
“Oh my, you scared me!” she chuckled.
“Sorry,” He rubbed the back of his head awakardly “you just seemed down and since we’re friends i wanted to check up on you” A smile formed it’s way onto his face.
“well actually there is something on my mind,” her usual bubbly face disappeared. “I have something to tell you, I trust you.” Aiden realized now how serious this really was.
“Let’s go somewhere quieter, yeah?” A nod was all he needed from her to start pulling her down the stairs, out from the dining area and pull her towards their cabin.
“okay so look, we’ve been friends for a while…” Her voice trailed off worrying Adien,, he hoped this wasn’t what he thought it was. She looked around anxiously to make sure nobody was listening and started again “And i feel like you need to know” Her voice became shaky.
‘Was this a confession’ Aiden asked himself, hoping he was wrong and it wasn’t that.
“I’m lesbian.” Aidens eyes widened in surprise, did she say what he thought she just did?! “omg you look disappointed i-i’m sorry,” she stuttered. “you probably hate me now and think of me less and-“ She rambled on but was cut short.
“i accept you don’t worry,” A sign of relief was heard from the German girl “In fact…” he started, turning away with a painful expression on his face, which perked the girls curiosity. “I’m gay,” he began again, only to be met with a girl mouth-opened.
“sorry me making that face was disrespectful wasn’t it? I hope it didn’t come off the wrong way i promise i accept you! i mean it would be wrong if i didn’t you know?”
“I’m not finished,” The girl looked at him again, this time with confusion mixed with curiosity. “I’m trans as well.” Too scared to see her expression he looked away quickly before looking back and seeing her with a pitiful expression.
“I’m glad you could trust me with that.” Her smile shined at him and he thought he was gonna go blind. “I’m really thankful to have you as my friend and be there for me when I need it, and I’m glad we can relate on certain levels.” A smile creeping it’s way onto Aiden's face as she talked. They shared a hug and went back inside, only to have half of them staring at them.
“Where did you guys go?” Hunter asked, everyone else perked up, hoping for answers too. Lake visibly stiffened.
“Nothing!” Aiden replied, voice laced with happiness. When everyone turned their attention away from them Lake let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding.
“Thanks.” she told Aiden, he simply smiled back to show he heard and they continued to eat the breakfast which was mostly cold by now. Both of them were at ease to know they had someone to go to now at the camp.
