“Gazelle.” Deuce decides.
“Gazelle?” He echoes, confusion mixing with amusement. Deuce nods back rapidly.
“Your horns remind me of gazelle horns. So I’ll call you Gazelle.”

Deuce always goes to the beach to cool off when he’s mad. One day, someone else is there when he visits. Who could've guessed the friend he made was a prince?

An offering to cut down extra wood for his unfinished house. A consistently reliable companion at his side whenever he explores. A weapon or armor or even the odd tome to "better protect himself" at his doorstep. Quiet gifts and even quieter accompaniment. A figure always haunting the edges of his vision, like a ghost that's forgotten why it continues to linger at all; solemn and weary. Weeping and wilting and very nearly grieving. For who Abolish can hardly say, his gut rolling with discomfort at the sudden, inexplicable shift in his behavior. It's not that it's unwelcome or that he wasn't as proactive before, no, but it's —
"Abolish, are you in need of anything?"
That.
The way it's always about Abolish. About him. Like Owen is somehow grieving him.
