Work Text:
“How much longer until we’re at the hotel, Sam?” Castiel asked from the backseat of the Impala.
“20 minutes max, how’s he doing?” Sam quickly looked in the rearview mirror at the two in the backseat.
“Still sleep but I know he can’t be comfortable. I would like to get him in a bed as quickly as possible.” Cas ran his fingers through Dean’s hair, where Dean’s head was resting on his lap.
“We’ll be there soon Cas and once we are we’ll get him ready for bed, promise.” Sam smiled at Cas through the mirror and focused on driving.
It wasn’t long until they were at the hotel. Cas pulled Dean out of the car and into his arms and carried him into the room. Sam grabbed the bags from the back and followed his boyfriend inside the room. Castiel somehow opened the door while still having Dean wrapped around his front. Castiel gently laid Dean down on one of the beds in the motel room. Sam sat the bags down and moved to stand beside Cas, and wrapped his arm around Cas’ waist. Dean started to stir on the bed, slowly waking up.
“Bubby? Dada?” Dean said, eyes slowly opening.
“Hey bud, how was your little nap?” Sam asked sitting on the bed by Dean’s head.
“Sleepy bubby.” Dean whined turning his head into Sam’s hip.
“I know you are, let’s get you ready for bed.” Sam said running his hand through Dean’s hair. Castiel started getting Dean undressed, folding his dirty clothes and setting them aside. Cas grabbed all the supplies he needed, pyjamas and a clean diaper.
“Don’t need that dada.” Dean tried to roll away from Cas after seeing the diaper.
“Yes, you do hun. We all know you need it, including you. We all know you’ll be more upset if you wake up in the morning to a wet bed.” Cas said grabbing Dean’s legs so he couldn’t roll away.
“Don’t need it.” Dean continued trying to roll away but not getting very far between Cas and Sam both holding him.
“Dean let dada put the diaper on you. Then we’ll all have snuggles with your bottle and blankie. Does that sound good?” Sam rolled Dean back onto his back.
“Fine.” Dean threw one of his arms over his face, covering his eyes so he couldn’t see what Cas was doing.
Cas quickly pulled off Dean’s underwear and put the diaper on. After the diaper was closed up Cas got Dean’s pyjamas on him, a polka dot-covered onesie and a pair of black shorts. Sam got Dean comfortable on the bed before getting changed into his pyjamas while Cas got Dean’s bottle. Sam and Cas lay down on either side of Dean, cuddling him between the two.
“Who do you want to give you your bottle tonight De?” Cas asked.
“Bubby,” Dean asked, leaning against Sam’s chest. Sam grabbed the bottle from Cas and brought it to Dean’s mouth. Cas gave Dean his blankie and Dean quickly pulled the cloth to his chest. Dean slowly drifted off to sleep after drinking the whole bottle. He was slowly blinking, fighting to keep his eyes open.
“Sleep hun. We love you.” Cas said, pressing a kiss to Dean’s forehead. Once they were sure Dean was asleep they both quietly slip out of the bed, making sure Dean was comfortable and his blankie was still in his arms.
Sam and Castiel slipped into the other bed after Cas changed into some sweats and one of Sam’s shirts. Sam fell asleep quickly, knowing that Cas was there to keep watch over him and Dean.

“Dean Winchester came back here right now, we need to get going?” Sam said. It was barely 9 am and Sam was already to crawl back in bed. Dean’s been up for an hour and has been on a holy tear ever since.
“No, thank you bubby.” Dean called.
The motel room wasn’t big but Dean has managed to destroy just about everything. The sheets and blankets from both beds were all over the floor, the only one that wasn’t was Dean’s blankie, which was wrapped around his neck like a cape. The few toys he had were scattered all over the floor. Sam hadn’t even been able to change Dean yet; he woke up rearing and ready to go. Cas had left before Dean woke up to grab breakfast and some other things they would need before getting back to the bunker. Better to get them now without Dean than later with Dean. Taking little Dean into a store was a nightmare waiting to happen, they’ve only done it once but that was more than enough.
“Yes, Dean. When Dada comes back we’re going to have breakfast and leave to go back home so everything needs to be cleaned up and you need to be changed.” Sam stood on the other side of the room with his hands on his hips. Dean had ditched his shorts sometime in the night leaving him in just his onesie which was sagging some from the very wet diaper and Sam knew he need to get Dean changed before a rash started if it hadn’t already.
“K.” Dean mumbled walking over to Sam. Sam picked his brother up and carried him into the bathroom. Sam got the bathtub filling while he got Dean undressed. He was right and there was a bit of a rash developing on Dean’s bottom.
“This is why bubby wanted to change you earlier. We’re going to have to keep an eye on this.” Sam lifted Dean into the tub.
“Sam, De everything okay?” Cas called. He had just gotten back and the state of the room made Cas nervous that something had happened.
“Bathroom Cas.” Sam called back starting to wash Dean’s hair. Cas stood in the doorway for a few minutes watching his two boys.
“Dada! Hi!” Dean called waving at Cas, water flying everywhere.
“Hi buddy. Did a tornado fly through here while I was gone?”
“Yeah, tornado Dean.” Sam said.
“After your bath, we’ll have to clean up before breakfast. Alright, Deany?” Cas pressed a kiss to both Sam and Dean’s forehead before leaving the bathroom. Sam finished giving Dean his bath and lifted him out of the tub and dried him off with the towel. Sam wrapped Dean in the towel and carried him out of the bathroom where Cas was waiting with a diaper and clean clothes.
“Let’s get you dressed De then we can start picking up your mess.” Cas said taking Dean from Sam’s arms and lying him on the bed. There was significantly less fighting this time than there was last night, Dean was willingly letting Cas diaper him and get him dressed.
“Let's clean up Dean, then we’ll have breakfast, and then we’ll head back home.” Sam said helping Cas get Dean dressed.
Between the three of them, they got the room cleaned in on time, getting everything back into their bags, and all the blankets back onto the beds. Dean ate his pancakes and bacon fairly quickly, while Sam ate his omelette and fruit. Cas carried all their bags out of the car while the brothers finished eating.
“Done bubby.” Dean pushed his empty plate toward Sam.
“Good job buddy. Let’s clean you up then we’ll start heading home.” Sam lead Dean into the bathroom to wipe his face and hands off before leading him outside to where Cas was waiting by the car.
“Where would you like to sit buddy?” Sam asked getting into the driver's seat.
“Back with dada.” Dean asked, looking hopeful at Cas.
“Of course buddy, let’s get home.”

“Are you hungry yet Dean?” Sam asked, they were approaching a town and figured that Dean was getting hungry and definitely needed a change.
“So hungry bubby.” Dean whined dramatically flopping against Cas,
“Alright, we’ll stop for food and a change.” Dean whined again at Sam’s words.
“You can get upset but it’s going to happen. You already have a bit of a rash and we don’t need it getting worse.” Sam pulled first into an empty parking lot so they could change Dean before getting food.
Cas got out of the car and laid Dean across the backseat of the Impala. Cas got Dean changed as quickly as possible while Dean pouted and crossed his arms. Big Dean was big and intimidating, but little Dean was the exact opposite. He was sweet, loved his blankie, his bubby, his dada, and loved cuddles. He also hated his diapers, but Sam and Cas both knew that if he didn’t have one on he would have an accident, which would be much worse, with much more tears. Been there, done that, never doing it again.
“Uh oh, did we bring a grumpy De with us?” Cas asked, ticking Dean’s tummy.
“Yea dada.” Dean emphasized his statement with a huff. Sam chucked from the front seat.
“Well I was going to go to McDonald’s and get De a happy meal but if he’s grumpy I guess we’ll have to go somewhere else.” Sam said. Dean gasped and tried to sit up, but Cas put his hand on Dean’s tummy not having yet got the clean diaper on.
“No bubby! Happy De! See!” Dean smiled up at his bubby. Sam didn’t let them get McDonald’s often and Dean wasn’t about to mess this up.
“Alright, buddy. Now lay back and let dada change you then I promise we’ll get food.” Sam smiled at Dean and turned around. Dean didn’t put up a fuss after that, letting Cas put the new diaper on him before getting him redressed and buckled in again. Cas quickly threw the used diaper into a nearby garbage can before getting back into the car.
“Alright, you two stay in the car. I’ll be back. Cas would you like anything?” Sam parked in the back of the parking lot. Dean was very self-conscience about people seeing little Dean so normally Sam when into stores and restaurants while Cas and Dean waited in the car.
“Milkshake please.”
“I’ll be right back.” Sam quickly went in and ordered their food. He was ready to get back to the bunker and was hoping to get there by early in the morning. If Cas drove for a while they should be able to get back without stopping for the night. Depending on how cranky Dean got.
“Alright, two cheeseburger happy meals with two chocolate milks. And one vanilla milkshake.” Sam handed the food out, pressing a kiss to both of his boy’s foreheads.
“Thanks, bubby.” Dean was quick to open his meals. Dean loved the happy meals but they were never enough so they always got two, always two cheeseburgers and chocolate milks. Sam always got one with a toy and the other with a book, no matter how much dean whined, he didn’t need two of the same toys and a book wouldn’t kill him.
“Thank you very much, Sam.” Cas didn’t need to eat but found much joy in milkshakes. Normally he and Sam shared them but it was harder to do that in the car.
They made it home just after 2 am. Sam and Cas switched seats just after 11 so Sam could sleep. When Cas parked in the garage he spent a few minutes looking at his boys. Sam was sitting on one side of the car, his head leaning against the window fast asleep. Dean was sitting in the middle seat, legs curled onto the seat beside him, blankie thrown over him, and his head snuggled into Sam’s neck. Cas decided to start with Dean. He pulled Dean gently across the backseat and pulled him up into his arms, Dean quickly wrapping around the familiar warmth. He carried him through the bunker into his room. He quickly changed his diaper and took off his jeans leaving him in just his onesie and diaper. He tucked him and blankie into bed, pressing a kiss to his forehead before going back to the impala for his big boy. Sam was still very much asleep against the window. Cas crawled into the backseat and tried waking Sam; Sam just grumbled his eyes barely opening.
“Sleepy.” Sam’s speech was slurred and he couldn’t find it in him to move.
“I already got the baby into bed, your turn.”
“Carry me.” Cas snorted but nonetheless hauled Sam across the backseat and onto his back. Carrying Sam was much harder than carrying Dean especially because Sam has already fallen back to sleep.
“You’re lucky I love you.” Cas all but dropped Sam onto their bed, tugging his jeans off before getting undressed and crawling into bed. He figured their bags could wait until morning.
The next morning Sam woke up to someone poking him in the face. He turned to see Dean lying beside him staring into his eyes, their noses almost touching. Sam jumped back not expecting Dean to be that close to his face.
“Jeepers De.”
“Morning bubby. Want food?”
“Where’s dada?” Sam said getting out of bed and pulling on a pair of sweatpants.
“Kitchen.” Dean held his hands waiting for Sam to pick him up.
“Did dada change you already?” Sam asked, checking to make sure the diaper was dry.
“Yes, bubby.” Sam carried Dean into the kitchen where Cas was indeed making breakfast. Nothing fancy just some toast and eggs.
“Morning honey.” Cas called seeing the two enter the kitchen.
“Morning. Did you send Dean to wake me up?” Sam got Dean sitting in his chair, seeing that Cas had breakfast almost ready.
“Of course. Now sit down, I’ll bring you your plates.”
Cas sat a plate of scrambled eggs and strips of toast with peanut butter down in front of Dean along with a sippy cup of orange juice. He sat a plate down in front of Sam was well, Sam’s two eggs were on top of his toast and covered in hot sauce. A cup of coffee was also sat down in front of Sam. Cas pressed a lingering kiss to Sam’s lips before sitting down with his cup of coffee.
“Ewie!” Dean scrunched his nose up.
“I’m sorry do you not like it when dada kisses bubby?” Sam asked, tickling Dean’s side.
“No.” Dean giggled trying to get away from Sam.
“You like when dada gives you kisses.”
“My dada, not bubby’s.”
“That’s right, he’s your dada but he’s my boyfriend so sometimes we kiss De.”
“Don’t worry dada will save all his kisses for his baby De.” Cas leaned across the table and pressed a wet kiss against both of dean’s cheeks. Dean giggled pulling away from Cas.
“Silly dada.”
Sam watched with amusement in his eyes. He loved his brother and his angel. He love watching the two together, knowing that looking after Dean was the closest he and Cas were going to get to having a child but he didn’t mind. Little Dean was more than enough and he savoured his little days. He knew that in a few days big Dean would be back so he held onto these days.
