Day 11: Bottle-Fed by a Caregiver

Summary:

Eileen takes care of her little one.

Work Text:

Sam and Eileen were on a hunt in Washington, well not really. As far as Dean and Castiel knew they were on a ghost hunt, which they were but they finished it within a day and now they're taking some time for themselves. Mostly just because the other members of the bunker didn’t know about Sam’s little space. It was something that he kept a secret for years until he met Eileen and finally found someone he trusted to tell about it.

“Sammy baby it’s bedtime.” Eileen said running her fingers through Sam’s hair.

“Not tired mama.” Sam tried rolling away from Eileen, almost falling off the bed in the process.

“Careful baby. And yes baby it’s bedtime, if you stay up much longer you’re going to be a cranky baby in the morning.” Eileen stood from the bed and grabbed Sam’s bag to get his night items.

Eileen started getting Sam out of his day clothes and pull-up. She got Sam into his night diaper and pyjamas before getting herself ready for bed. She climbed into bed with Sam and got him his paci and puppy stuffie. Eileen pulled Sam so he was lying with his head on her chest. Eileen hummed a steady tune, even though she couldn’t hear, just feel the vibrations, Sam loved listening to her no matter the tune. It didn’t take long before Sam was asleep. Eileen grabbed her phone from the table and saw that Dean texted her asking how the hunt was going and if they wanted him and Cas to come up and help. Eileen messaged back saying that they had finished up but were staying in town a couple of extra days just to make sure everything was alright and they’d be heading back by the end of the week. All she got back was a winky face.

Eileen looked down at the sleeping little on her chest and wished they could stay like this forever. But she knew Sam was nervous about Dean and Cas finding out. He spent so long doing this by himself that he loved having a caregiver in Eileen but still wasn’t comfortable telling the other two. So just about any alone time they had, Sam spent in his headspace. Dean can think whatever he wants about what Eileen and Sam do alone. Eileen soon put her phone down and before long was asleep, Sam still wrapped around her.

Eileen woke up to movement from Sam. Eileen opened her eyes to see Sam in distress. Sam was now lying on his back on the other side of the bed; his arms and legs were restless, moving around the bed everywhere. His back was arching off the bed and though she couldn’t hear him she could tell from the movement of his mouth that he was crying. Eileen was quick to comfort the little, bringing him back into her chest and making sure he had his paci and puppy.

“Sammy baby you need to wake up. Mama’s here, mama’s got you.” Eileen gently shook Sam to wake him. Sam woke with a gasp and shot up. He cried out and reached for Eileen. She brought him into her chest and allowed the little to cry into her neck.

It took several minutes for Sam to finally calm down, but Eileen didn’t rush him. She just allowed Sam to cling to her and cry. She hummed a steady melody into his hair while rubbing his back. When he had finally calmed down he slowly pulled his face out of Eileen’s neck to look at her. His face was red and blotchy, tears and snot smeared all over his face and Eileen’s neck.

“Aww, baby boy.” Eileen grabbed a wipe off the bedside table and wiped his face off as best as she could. Sam sniffles and wipes his nose on his arm. He brought one hand up to sign milk.

“Alright, baby I’ll get you a bottle and a cloth to clean you up baby. Can you lay here with puppy until mama’s ready for you?”Sam nodded and laid back down, bringing his puppy up to his face to rub against his nose.

Eileen quickly put milk into a bottle and put it into the microwave to warm while she got a warm cloth to clean Sam’s face with. She grabbed the bottle on her way back and screwed the cover on before climbing back onto the bed. Sam was quick to lay against his mama and open his mouth for the bottle.

“Face first baby.” Eileen quickly wipes all the snot and tears from Sam’s face. He whined and tried to twist away from the cloth.

He calmed down when Eileen slipped the bottle into his mouth. He fully relaxed against her and quickly drank the bottle. He felt his eyes start to slip clothes and force them open, instead looking up at Eileen who was smiling down at him. Eileen used the hand not holding the bottle to gently run through Sam’s hair. Sam hummed contently and snuggled into Eileen’s chest. When Sam finally emptied the bottle Eileen pulled it away from his mouth, Eileen quickly replace the bottle with his paci.

“Let’s get you changed and we’ll go back to sleep.” Eileen was quick to change Sam’s diaper.

“Ni-night mama.” Sam snuggled into Eileen once he was changed and they were both back in bed.

“Ni-night baby. I love you.”

“Love mama.” Sam brought his puppy back up to rub on his face, between that and his mam’s gentle touch he was back asleep before long.

Eileen stayed awake for a bit longer, just looking down at her baby. She figured that tomorrow would probably be their last day before they had to head back to the bunker. She wished that this could be their life all the time. Just the two of them, Sam being able to be in his headspace whenever he needed. But for now, she was content to look down at the sleeping little, pressing one final kiss to his head before going back to sleep herself. Hoping that the rest of the night went smoothly, it broke her heart whenever Sam had a nightmare, but little Sam having a nightmare shattered her heart.
