Work Text:
Morning light invaded the hotel room through the window as you woke up. The sunlight felt warm and soft against your face, and you slowly blinked your eyes open, gazing at the beautiful sky outside. You stretched and reached to tilt the alarm clock towards you, seeing it was already almost eight at the morning and you groaned, feeling like you wanted to stay in the bed but you also knew that you’d quickly just fall back asleep.
You made a move to sit up, but then felt a slight tug around your waist and looked down to see an arm wrapped around you. Your eyes widened in shock for just a moment before you remembered that you actually didn’t have your own room - your long-time friend who you had recently told about your feelings, had told you that it would cost less if you shared a room, and you hadn’t hesitated for a moment. You knew you had nothing to be afraid of with him, so even sleeping in the same bed didn’t feel weird.
And oddly, even finding his arm around you didn’t feel weird either, you rather liked the feeling. You stared at Benny sleeping for a moment longer, before you slowly laid back down again, hoping not to wake him.
Apparently, you weren’t careful enough though as he took in a deep breath as he started to stir awake, letting out a little noise of protest before falling silent again when you cuddled closer.
“Morning,” He murmured sleepily into your ear, making you chuckle softly.
“Good morning.” You replied quietly, still slightly sleepy yourself despite having slept pretty well last night.
“You looked cold,” Benny said, referring to having his arm over you. “I hope you didn’t get too spooked?”
You snorted, shaking your head, “Nah it was fine, besides how could I complain about being held like this by my favourite person? Nope, can’t complain!”
Benny chuckled and you felt his breath tickling against your neck as he did so. His voice sounded soft as he spoke again, “It’s nice isn’t it?”
“Yeah,” you hummed happily in agreement, running your fingers along his arm wrapped around you, enjoying the contact.
“Would you want to have more mornings like this?” he asked and you stopped with a frown on your face, and then flipped around to face him.
“More of what?” You asked, curious now as he tilted his head looking at you curiously.
“This, us waking up together in the morning.” He explained, smiling slightly. “You coming over and not sleeping on the mattress anymore, and you wouldn’t be just my friend anymore.”
Your heart skipped a beat or two, feeling your face growing hot quickly. He really wanted to be more than friends?
“Okay,” you squeaked out, hating how your voice sounded but feeling the butterflies emerge into your stomach when Benny smiled a little wider. “I would love that.”
His smile turned to a grin before he lifted his hand against your cheek, looking at your lips as if asking permission and you gave a slight nod, closing your eyes as his kiss landed gently upon yours. You still felt your heart thumping inside of your chest as he pulled away from kissing you for several seconds, and then pulling you closer again as you laid on the bed.
You tried to tell yourself that it was likely just a dream, no way that would actually happen - but longer you tried to convince yourself of that, more real it felt…
