"You've got to be kidding me!" Eddie says, standing in front of his car, or what's left of it since fallen three crushed it. He sacks to the ground his hands shaking, he feels like he is about to cry. Chris is the only kid still at school. How did Eddie ever think he could do this?
"That looks bad." Eddie looks up to see buck's car, the window down. "Get in I'll give you a ride."
"Are you sure? Today was exhausting, I'm sure you wanna get home."
"Yes," buck answers "today was exhausting, and I'm sure Christopher really wants to go home now."
Eddie gets in the car. "Thanks."
"Daddy!!!" Chris screams as he runs towards his father hugging him tightly. "Did you save the people in the building?" Chris's eyes are shining with hope.
"He sure did, you're dad was a real hero today, you must be proud." Eddie looks up to see Buck standing behind him.
"Chris, this is Buck, he's a friend from work."
Buck kneels in front of the boy, extending a hand. "It's nice to meet you, buddy, you're dad told me a lot about you."
"Buck, It's pizza night, do you wanna stay?" Chris asks as Buck drops him and Eddie off before his house.
Buck opens his mouth to protest, sure that Eddie will want some time alone with Christopher after the day he had.
"Of course, he will, buck drove us all the way home, can't let him leave on an empty stomach."
They end up watching a Disney movie while eating pizza on the couch. an exhausted Chris is fast asleep halfway through the movie.
"I'm gonna put him to bed, I'll be right back." Eddie tells Buck.
"want a beer?" Eddie asks once Chris is safely in bed.
"Sure."
Chris wakes up a couple of hours later to get a class of water and finds his dad lying on Buck's chest, fast asleep.
