Work Text:
“You were very brave back there,” you whispered as you pressed an ice bag on Sly’s leg. “Bentley owes you his life.”
Sly groaned and closed his eyes. “He has saved me so many times that it was time to pay some of it back.”
You offered Sly a sad smile while you started to tie the ice bag on his leg. It was a miracle that Doctor M’s mutant hadn’t completely wrecked Sly into pieces - his leg had strained quite badly and he had numerous bruises all over his body, but no bones had broken. Sly had already learned that Carmelita had come to arrest him and she had saved Sly from the mutant - and after the gang had found him, they brought him to the cabin and you had tended him there since then, refusing to leave his side.
“You don’t have to worry about me this much. I can rest on my own,” he muttered, and you took his hand on your own, looking straight into his eyes.
“We’re a team, remember?” you said and squeezed Sly’s hand gently. “And teams work together.”
