Bee stumbled through the door, snow caked on her boots as she struggled with taking off the snow clothes.
June poked her head out from the kitchen to see what was Bee was doing before walking towards her. "Would you like any help?" June asked standing infront of Bee. "Yes please!" Bee requested putting her arms out.
Bee had managed to get her boots off but the zipper of her coat was jammed. June slipped the hat and gloves off Bee before crouching down, fixing the zipper problem.
The kettle whistled as June quickly walked back to the kitchen, "One moment" she said before turning the stove off.
Mantis walked behind Bee before picking her up to hug her. "How was it outside?" Mantis questioned, touching Bees cold face, "It was fun! How's the baby?" Bee said attempting to escape Mantis' grasp to see the cradle. Mantis put her down before walking over to the cradle, gently picking up the bundle of blankets and moving to the couch, sitting down.
"I wanna see!" Bee pouted attempting to look into her fathers arms, which hid her baby brother. June picked Bee up and plopped her down on the couch, right next to her father.
"Ooo, he's so tiny! Can I hold him?" Bee looked up at Mantis with wide, hopeful eyes.
Mantis took his gaze off the small child to see Bee properly.
Mantis looked at June who nodded slightly. Mantis peered back a Bee before instructing her to hold her arms out, "Be very careful with him Bee. He's very small." Mantis's hands slipped out from under the baby's body and held his hands just a little below Bee's, just to be safe.
Bee looked at the baby in pure awe. She quietly whispered that she'd never let anything harm her baby brother before she excited looked up at her parents and announcing, "When he gets big we can have a snow ball fight! Or sledding! Or- "shh, don't yell dear, he's sleeping." June interrupted.
All three watched as the small stick squirmed in Bee's grasp before Mantis gently took hold of the baby.
June set a cup of tea down next to Mantis, he gave her a tired smile. June smiled back before she sighed hearing her son being to stir.
He mindlessly babbled and spitted a bit as Mantis bounced him in his arms, all the while Bee had wandered to the kitchen to make hot chocolate.
Bee came wandering out of the kitchen with a mug of hot chocolate cautiously watching her step as she placed the mug down on a table and looked st her parents.
Mantis sat with his head held in one hand while the other wrapped around June's side, who was leaning against Mantis as she held him.
Her brother had been placed back into his crib.
Bee climbed up onto the couch and nudged her head against June, attempting to get comfortable as she watched the wind swirl around outside.
She could get used to this.
