Ada's vision was blurry but she could make out vague figures and shapes, much to Ada's confusion.
She couldn't feel her limbs, everything ached. Eev stood in front of her, shouting something while aiming an arrow at her.
Tears were streaming down his face.
What was going on? Where were Mom and Dad? Why couldn't she move?
She couldn't think and in panic, screamed. It was the only thing she could do.
The last thing she saw was an arrow, inches away from her face.
Ada gasped as she sat up on the bed, her heart raced as she held herself. She crawled out of bed and slowly made her way out of her room.
She stood outside Eev's room, clutching her blanket tightly around her shaking body.
Maybe she was too old to be getting scared over her nightmares, maybe she should just go back to her room- "Ada?" She whipped around, eyes wide, "What are you doing up this late?"
Eev stood in the doorway of the kitchen holding a bottle of water and rubbing his half-open eyes.
"Eev! I was just getting a glass of water!" Eev looked over at the clock on the wall and back at his sister, "It's not even three in the morning, you should be asleep."
Ada groaned and slouched her shoulders slightly.
"I had a nightmare. Could I sleep with you? Pretty please?" Ada mustered up her best puppy eyes to try and convince him.
Eev walked up to his room and opened the door, staring into the darkness for a second before sighing and holding the door open.
"Alright, go climb in. But don't take my spot, alright." Ada gleefully scrambled on the bed, nestling against the wall and burying herself under his blanket.
Eev set the bottle down on his nightstand before flopping into the bed, shutting his eyes, and getting comfortable.
Eev shifted around slightly before Ada tapped his arm, "Eeevv, I can't sleep. Could you tell me a bedtime story?" He rubbed his eyes as he sat up, "Fiiinne, what story?" Ada thought for a moment before she excitedly held Eevs arm, "Hmm, oh! What about the story with the princess and the sea!"
Eev leaned against the headboard as he thought, "Alright, once upon a time…"
Eev told the story as Ada laid against him, her eyes slowly closing as she listened.
