Work Text:
Crowley sat in his favorite chair, looking at the screen of his phone. As he was focused on an article that caught his eye, a sweet scent filled the room. And his nostrils. It was the smell of freshly baked sugar biscuits. Crowley moved his head up as he heard Aziraphale’s voice coming from the kitchen. Feeling suddenly curious, the demon got up from his chair and quietly went to see what was going on inside.
Inside of the kitchen, Aziraphale and Leah were standing in front of the oven/stove, while Aziraphale was looking down at their daughter.
“Now, we let the biscuits cool off before we decorate them.” Aziraphale told her. Leah looked up at her mama.
“Should we get the things out to decorate them with? Or should we wait?” Leah asked.
“I think we can wait until the biscuits are cooled off.” Aziraphale replied. Leah nodded in agreement. Aziraphale felt that someone was watching them and turned his head in the direction where Crowley was hiding behind one of the walls that connects the arch between the living room and kitchen.
“Crowley, dear. I know it is you.” Aziraphale spoke, trying to get his attention. Crowley knew that he was caught. He moved away from where he was positioned, Now, both partner and daughter could see him clearly.
“How did you know it was me?” Crowley asked. Aziraphae chuckled.
“It is because I am an angel. I can sense even the smallest of things without having to even think about it.” Aziraphale answered. A smirk appeared on the demon’s face.
“An angel you are indeed, my love. But..you are certainly not innocent like one. That is for sure.” Crowley spoke back. Aziraphale’s face suddenly became red.
“Cro-Crowley!” Aziraphale exclaimed, feeling flustered and even a little embarrassed all at once. Crowley chuckled.
“I am just teasing you. But..I am also telling the truth at the same time.” Crowley told him. Aziraphale could not get a word out of his mouth. There was no way that he could say that Crowley was not speaking the truth at all. For as long as the two of them have known each other, Crowley and Aziraphale can truly read each other. Like a really, well-read book.
Aziraphale let out a sigh of defeat and decided to just let it go right then and there.
“You got me there, hun.” Trying to not admit it. Especially in front of their daughter, he really did not want to admit to anything.
“I think Daddy just wants a biscuit.” Leah piped up. Aziraphale looked down at their daughter again. Deep down, Crowley did want to have one of the biscuits that he noticed on the tray when walking in.
“Well, Papa is going to have to wait until they finish cooling off and we finish decorating them.” Aziraphale spoke. Leah does not know or may not have really noticed that her Papa actually does not eat much. Well, at least when he is just with Aziraphale, Crowley really does not eat really much of anything. Just mostly drink alcohol. It is more out of habit before they had Leah for why Crowley does not eat around Aziraphale.
And only tends to eat more when they are around their daughter/as a family. Yet..it always made the angel think why Crowley only eats when they are around their daughter or as a family but never pressed on the issue. Nor does it really bother him for the most part. Just makes him curious more than anything. Still, it did not make Crowley want a biscuit any less.
“Are they still hot to the touch?” Crowley asked.
“Yes. We just took them out of the oven a few minutes ago.” Aziraphale replied. Crowley took a look at them for a few seconds before looking back at the angel.
“...Can I have just one biscuit? Please?” Crowley asked, trying not to beg.
“You eat biscuits hot, Papa?” Leah asked her Papa. This did not surprise Azirahle in the slightest. Crowley does love spicy and hot food.
“Sometimes, I do.” Crowley answered her. Still, Leah wanted to wait until all the biscuits were decorated.
“After they are decorated, you can have one.” Leah replied, still standing her ground when it comes to the biscuits.
“I agree with Leah on this one. Just have to have patience, dear.” Aziraphale added. Crowley gave his daughter and partner a pout.
“..It does not have to be decorated for me to eat it.” Crowley spoke, trying to get a biscuit from them. But Leah nor Aziraphale were going to give into Crowley’s plea.
“It is just that I want to make sure there are not an uneven amount of biscuits before then. Plus, I am going to wait until they are all done being decorated, too.” Leah told him. Leah is a very easy going person but when it comes to her sweets, she will try to stab you with a fork (and it can even be a knife at times) if you try to grab even a tiny bit of a morsel from anything she has been making and/or eating, she will hurt you without any hesitation.
Crowley was the one who felt defeated this time. It seems that he was not going to get a biscuit for now.
“Okay. I’ll wait.” Crowley softly spoke, feeling sad. Crowley and/or Aziraphale could use their power to just automatically cool off and decorate the biscuits but..they also wanted Leah to have fun being creative when it comes to baking. This is more for Leah than just themselves.
“Or try to.” Crowley thought. Aziraphale got an idea, hoping that it will get Crowley’s mind off of what was going on.
“Let’s all of us go to the living room while we wait. I’ll check on the biscuits in a bit. Should not be too much longer, though.” Aziraphale suggested. It is not that he did not trust Leah. Leah tends to be great with patience. It was more of Crowley that he did not trust to stay away from the biscuits. Leah agreed. Crowley gave a nod. The three of them left the kitchen and went to spend some time in the living room, leaving the biscuits alone on the tray while they began to cool.
Crowley followed them into the living room as he let out a sigh. At the moment, he was a sad demon.
“I really do want one, though.” Crowley muttered quietly to himself. Aziraphale started a chapter of his book while Leah was sitting on the floor, reading a book as well. Crowley, on the other hand, seriously could not get his mind off of the biscuits while sitting next to Aziraphale. And it was because they were made by his family. Crowley loves anything that Aziraphale and their daughter make.
There was just something about them that was just slightly driving him mad. Maybe it was because they are homemade by his partner and daughter. Anything they usually make always turns out delicious. Whether it is a tray of biscuits or a meal. He was trying to think of a plan to get even a taste of one.
“If only I could have a small bite of one of the biscuits and replace the bite, maybe they won’t notice.” Crowley thought to himself. Before Crowley could even get off of the couch, Azirpahale quickly reached his hand out and pulled Crowley back down onto the couch.
“Do NOT even think about it, dear. I may have my eyes glued to a book right now but I have all of my eyes on you.” Aziraphale instructed. It seems that his plan was not going to work. Especially not on Aziraphale’s watch. Crowley felt a little scared…and even a little turned on, too. Rarely does Aziraphale show dominance. But when he needs to get his point across, he is not afraid to show it. Even with his own partner.
Which you would NEVER want to get on the angel’s bad side. And neither does Crowley. He would not want to risk it at all. Crowley silently gulped. He knew that Aziraphale was being serious, too.
“Ye-yes, love. Understood.” Crowley spoke back and got comfortable on the couch again.
“Good.” Aziraphale spoke and went back to reading his book. Leah noticed what was going on but still kept her nose in her book. Unless it feels fun to her to do so, she never tends to get into anyone else's business. Regardless of who it is. Also, Leah felt bad for her Papa. Yet, seeing it from the corner of her eye was making her think about all of this, too.
“He really wants a biscuit that badly, huh. I have never seen Papa like this before. I feel so bad for him.” Leah thought. She looked away from her book and at her Mama.
“Do you think the biscuits have cooled off yet?” Leah asked. Aziraphale looked back at her.
“I am not sure but I can check.” Aziraphale told her. Leah placed her favorite bookmark into her book and closed before getting off of the ground.
“I will go with you.” Leah offered. Aziraphale got off of the couch and Leah followed her Mama back into the kitchen. And leaving Crowley alone once again. Crowley moved enough to see what was going on from the couch. He could not hear exactly what they were saying but..they were truly checking on the biscuits. Leah suddenly quickly walked away from her Mama and into the kitchen behind them.
Crowley turned his head so he did not get caught snooping again. By either of them. Leah stopped and looked into the living room at her Papa.
“Papa.” Leah piped up to get his attention. Crowley slowly turned his head to look at his daughter. The two of them made eye contact with one another.
“Want to help Mama and I decorate the biscuits?” Leah suddenly offered. Crowley was not expecting her to ask for this.
“Are you sure that you want me to help you?” Crowley asked, just to make sure that is what she really wanted. Leah nodded.
“I am not really good at it.” Crowley told her.
“You do not need to be good at doing it. I am not good at it either but I like doing it. I just want to do it with both you and Mama. ..Please, Papa?” Leah pleaded. Crowley smiled at her.
“Well, if you insist that you really want my help then I would love to.” Crowley told her. Leah quickly went back into the kitchen to let Mama know that Papa was going to be helping them with the biscuits as he got off of the couch. Crowley walked into the kitchen as Aziraphale finished getting everything out to decorate.
“Glad you are joining us! Plus, it will go faster if there are three of us going at this together.” Aziraphale greeted him with a smile. Crowely nodded in agreement then walked over to the counter. He stood in front of Aziraphale.
“I will try my best. And I am sorry about earlier. I was not trying to cause trouble for you and Leah. But a huge part of me just really wanted a biscuit. They look so good.” Crowley apologized. Aziraphale understood.
“It is okay, hun. I know how you feel but remember, having patience can yield you great rewards in the end.” Aziraphale spoke back. Crowley smiled.
“Not going to disagree with that.” Crowley agreed.
“Are we ready to decorate?” Leah asked, feeling curious. Aizraphale looked at her.
“Yes, dear.” Aziraphale replied. He looked back at Crowley.
“Are you ready?” Aziraphale asked him.
“I am very ready.” Crowley replied. Crowley, Aziraphale and Leah turned to look at the counter and began to open everything to decorate the biscuits. As they began to decorate, Leah got an idea of her own.
“Do you think that we could make gingerbread people next? Like on another day?” Leah suggested.
“Sure, we can! I do not think that is a bad idea. We could do that.” Aziraphale answered her suggestion.
“Yay!” Leah exclaimed excitedly. Aziraphale and Crowley love seeing their daughter excited. And happy. Crowley was no longer sad. He was having a lot of fun with his family. It was getting a bit messy but nonetheless, it was a lot of fun for the three of them.
“Maybe Papa can help us with the gingerbread as well.” Leah also suggested.
“I would not mind helping make those with you.” Crowley agreed.
“I would not mind it either.” Aziraphale seconded.
“I guess it is settled then?” Leah asked.
“It is settled..right, love?” Crowley asked his love.
“Yes, it is.” Aziraphale answered. When the final biscuit was decorated, the three of them took a few steps back and looked at them.
“I think we did a good job.” Crowley piped up. The biscuits were not decorated like a professional but..they did not look bad at all.
“I agree. They look lovely.” Aziraphale agreed as well.
“And delicious.” Leah added. Before any of them said a word, Azirphale took two biscuits and one to his husband and one to his daughter. The third one he took for himself. On the count of three, they each took a bite of their biscuit. Crowley was finally glad to be able to get a bite of the biscuit that he has been wanting since the start of all of this.
“You are right. Very delicious.” Crowley said to his daughter after swallowing the bite in his mouth.
“Indeed.” Aziraphale also complimented the biscuits. Leah did not say anything. Her mouth was too stuffed with biscuit to be able to get a word out for a minute. After she swallowed the bite on her mouth, she looked up both of her parents.
“We all really did a good job with these.” She spoke.
“We truly did.” Aziraphale spoke back. When all three of the cookies were finished, they decided to wait a while to have another one. As they left the kitchen, Aziraphale turned his head to look at him.
“Feel better now?” Aziraphale whispered.
“Yes.” Crowley answered.
“I am glad. Sorry if I seemed like an arse but..I just wanted to wait so Leah can decorate them.” Aziraphale told him.
“I get that. I should not have been so childish about it. That was my fault.” Crowley said back.
“It is okay. We all can be that way sometimes.” Azirpahale explained then gave Crowley a kiss on the cheek.
“And it does not make me love you any less, dear. I love you so much.” Aziraphale whispered into the demon’s ear. Crowley was the one who blushed this time.
“I-I love you so much, too, babe.” Crowley whispered back. Aziraphale chuckled.
“He is quite cute for a demon. And I am so glad that he is mine. ALL mine.” Aziraphale thought to himself. And is what truly happens when a demon wants a biscuit.
The End
