I love them so much, so I write this. Hope you love them as much as I do as well.

I can't write mandarin, so... all of this is going to be in English. Apologies for the inconvenience ^^

Chapter 1: As the Day I Lost You

Chapter Text

Multi-Millionaire Company CEO Waymond Wang didn’t mean to come to this red-carpet event.

While he always used to seek every little joy in his life, doing everything that he could rope himself into doing, this luxury felt undeserved. T’was no different than a fancy party: hosted by rich people for rich people. Perhaps he’d appreciate it more if he could, but he found himself despising it instead, for one reason and another.

Being a CEO of a wealthy company, he’s always received an invitation to such events out of formality. It was always an option for him to attend or not. Though, as he mentioned before, he didn’t mean to come to this party. However, on the road, when he saw a billboard with her face and name on it... before he noticed it, the past has already come back to him.

He recalled the time in the past when they were young – of the time when he had asked her to come with him, to run away with him. Just he and her against the world—wouldn’t that be lovely? He had thought so in the past.

Still, he didn’t agree to go with him, and since then, they’ve gone on their separate ways. She was successful and famous now, and... he was richer than he was in the past. He wondered to himself. Maybe, after all of this time, she still loved him? That was just his wishful thinking talking. Perhaps she doesn’t remember him—that too was possible.

Before he know it, he found himself inside the fancier-than-life hallway – on the castle where the red carpet event was being hosted. He attended with the slight hope to be able to see her again, one more time. He didn’t even wish to strike up a conversation with her, he just wanted to see her, in person. The woman he longed for and used to think was his entire world.

He stood atop the balcony, overlooking the hall as guests of numerous renowned origins entered the castle. He waited for her to appear until eventually, he saw her. The woman he waited for arrived, wearing a golden dress, looking drastically different than she was in the past. She wasn’t messy like she used to be, and yet she was still the same person.

The woman in the golden dress was Evelyn Quan, the woman he used to love.

Or still does? He wasn’t sure.

He didn’t expect her to remember him, but then, their eyes crossed each other. From behind the sea of people, their eyes met one another.

Evelyn.

Inadvertently, he smiled at the sight of her – ear to ear, miserably happy. She looked appalled when she saw him, and, to his surprise, immediately after they noticed one another’s presence, she walked up to him. Climbing up the stairs, closing the distance between the two.

Naturally, he helped her up the stairs, and there she was, standing in front of him. Evelyn Quan. And him, Waymond Wang, as he looked deeply into her eyes.

Ah, she was just as beautiful as the day he lost her.
