Work Text:
Two queens in a king-sized bed
Like angels in the snow
Chan shuts the door behind him, immediately sighing in relief as the warmth of the apartment he shares with his college friends starts seeping into his skin.
It’s late. As Chan checks his phone, the clock read reads 00:54am, and he winces. He locks his phone again, placing it on the stairs, before shrugging off his coat and shoes by the door. He takes up his bag and phone again before slowly making his way upstairs. The hallway is dark apart from the occasional flicker of light from underneath Jisung and Jeongin’s doorway.
Chan ignores it, pushing the door to his room open and stops when he notices a figure in his bed. The sky outside is pitch black but he can still just about make out the figure curled up in his sheets. He sighs, and quickly discards his bag, before going over to check who it is.
Chan taps his bedside table on, the dim light illuminating the face of the person in his bed. It’s Felix. Chan’s heart clenches.
Felix is the person Chan has been crushing on for ages now. Like, since-they-first-met, kind of ages, and his feelings have only gotten stronger over time. The sight of the younger in his bed has Chan’s heart pounding. He smiles, brushing a few strands of hair away from Felix’s eyes and goes to turn to leave when Felix awakens, eyes slowly blinking open. Chan stares at him with a soft smile.
“Chan?” Felix asks, his voice deep and heavy with sleep, and Chan swallows down the urge to coo at him.
“Hey sunshine.” Chan says, loving the small smile it pulls out of Felix. “What are you doing in my bed?” Chan keeps his tone soft so as to not upset the younger. Felix huffs, snuggling deeper into Chan’s pillow before mumbling something that gets completely muffled by the pillow. Felix seems to realise this as he lifts his head, the blue strands of his hair sticking out at all angles.
“Couldn’t sleep. Tried to pass the time here and fell asleep I guess.” Felix says. He goes to sit up, but Chan stops him.
“You can stay, don’t worry.” Chan reassures him and Felix can sense where his thoughts are going, because he speaks before Chan can continue.
“You’re not sleeping on the couch. We can just share the bed, can’t we?” Felix asks and Chan flushes lightly but nods.
“Sure. Let me just get dressed. You go back to sleep, okay?” Chan says and Felix nods, yawning as he does, before slumping his head onto the pillow below him, smacking his lips a couple of times as he snuggles into the sheets. Chan smiles at him before standing up and quickly changing out of his jeans and t-shirt. He puts on a simple black t-shirt and some black shirts before making his way over to the bed again.
Chan taps the light off before climbing over Felix to get to the other side of the bed. Felix giggles lightly, the sound deeper than usual due to the sleepiness still thick in his voice. Chan smiles at him, even though Felix can’t see him, and wishes Felix a good night.
“Good night Channie.” Felix responds, and Chan smiles, closing his eyes to finally sleep. It stays that way for about ten seconds before Felix is shuffling closer, slinging his arm over Chan’s waist as he presses his face into Chan’s jaw. He mumbles something about it being too cold and needing Chan’s body heat and Chan just smiles once more, before wrapping Felix up in his arms properly. The younger hums in satisfaction and rubs his head across Chan’s chest (rather like a cat, Chan thinks), before finally mumbling another good night. Chan mutters it back before closing his eyes and trying to sleep.
As he slowly drifts off, Chan imagines he hears Felix saying ‘I love you’ to him.

Felix sobs into his hands as he sits forlornly on the couch. He’d failed his test and he was so disappointed in himself. He doesn’t even register Chan’s presence until the older boy sits beside him. He looks up startled and whimpers when he sees Chan.
“Chan!” Felix sobs. “I failed my test.” He continues. He probably looks like a mess, tears running down his face, and his blue hair all messed up from where Felix had angrily tugged at it earlier, but Chan still looks at him so softly and sweetly. It makes Felix’s heart rush.
“It’s okay sunshine. I promise. It was just one time.” Chan says and normally Felix would protest at that, make a fit and exclaim how it’s not just one time and how he’s a failure who should just give up now, but there’s something about Chan and his presence and his way of speaking that makes Felix trust him.
“You p-promise?” Felix stutters. Chan nods, reaching a hand up to tuck some of Felix’s neon-blue strands behind his ear and Felix unintentionally leans into the touch.
“You wanna watch a movie or something to calm down?” Chan asks, hand still resting against Felix’s cheek.
“Yes please. Can we, can we cuddle too?” Felix asks, his voice quiet and Chan smiles.
“Of course we can.” Chan responds and Felix smiles, clapping his small hands in excitement, before snatching the remote off the table and loading up Netflix. He selects Rise of the Guardians, a film he’s seen a million times, but he’s never gotten tired of, before turning to face Chan.
Chan moves so he’s lying on his back on the couch and Felix happily lays atop him, pressing play on the movie before allowing himself to appreciate Chan’s warmth. Chan’s hands soon find their way into Felix’s blue hair and Felix’s hums, practically purring, at the feeling. He’s always been a sucker for having people play with his hair, and the large crush he has on Chan definitely doesn’t help here.
Felix turns his attention back to the movie and before long, he feels his eyes slip close. The warmth of Chan and the gentle fingers still playing with his hair lull him to sleep and he welcomes it, welcomes the opportunity to rest and recharge, especially when he gets to rest with Chan.
Felix imagines he hears Chan call him beautiful.
--
It’s Minho who finds them asleep together on the couch, Felix sprawled across Chan’s body, and Chan’s hands stuck in between strands of Felix’s hair. Minho smiles at the sight and takes a few pictures before turning the TV off and leaving. Minho decides they probably need the rest and goes off to find Seungmin, his boyfriend. The younger is in their room they share with Felix, watching a movie, and Minho immediately shows Seungmin the pictures. Seungmin coos before they both get distracted by something occurring in the film.
Minho secretly sends the pictures to Felix and Chan separately five minutes later.

Chan comes back late from university again, the snow falling thick and fast outside. His hair is absolutely mottled from the melted flakes and some strands are even starting to drip, catching on his scarf as they run down.
A noise from the kitchen startles Chan. His phone screen tells him it’s 23:47pm, so why is anyone awake? He takes off his shoes, scarf and coat, laying them across the radiator as best as he can before slowly making his way into the kitchen, his bag abandoned by the doorway.
It’s Felix. He’s swaying along to some soft music whilst mixing something and Chan leans against the doorframe to just take in the sight. It feels almost domestic, but Chan knows that Felix doesn’t see him that way, so he’ll allow himself the moments of illusion. He stares at Felix under the younger turns to him, gasping.
“Chan! How long have you been there?” Felix asks, placing the bowl on the table. He walks over to Chan and ruffles the elder’s hair. “You’ll get sick if you stay like that. Go take a warm shower and my brownies should be in the oven by then, so you won’t have to wait long to have one.” Felix continues and Chan melts.
“Sure. Back in a minute.” Chan says before rushing off. He takes the quickest shower of his life, eager to get back to Felix and his tender touches and his sparkly eyes and his soft appearance. He shrugs on a plain black t-shirt and some sweatpants before leaving his room, his hair drying and settling into his usual curls atop his head.
When Chan gets downstairs, Felix is still in the kitchen. He’s at the sink cleaning up the dishes and quietly singing along to the music still playing. Chan smiles and slowly pads his way into the room, back-hugging Felix and taking the younger by surprise. Felix tenses up for a seconds before immediately settling back into Chan’s arms.
“That was fast.” Felix teases him and Chan just laughs, before opening his mouth and saying the worst sentence possible.
“What can I say? I like being around my crush.” Chan says before stilling, the words he said registering in his brain. He quickly unlaces his arms from around Felix’s waist and steps back. “Sorry, I, I didn’t mean to say that.” Chan says, voice quiet. Felix remains wordless as he steps away from the sink and dries his hands. He still remains quiet even when he steps into Chan’s personal bubble.
“You have a crush on me?” Felix finally whispers, voice deep and absolutely addictive to Chan. Chan can only nod, all words trapped in his throat. Felix nods his head once before kissing Chan, the older letting out a startled noise before immediately kissing back. He wraps an arm around Felix’s waist, pulling the younger closer, his arm going up to lace his hand through Felix’s hair. Felix’s small hands settle on Chan’s arms and the two enmesh themselves in the kiss. It isn’t until a cough breaks the two apart that Chan and Felix finally untangle themselves from each other.
Changbin stands in the doorway, Hyunjin holding onto his hand behind him, and the two are staring at Chan and Felix with wide eyes. Until Changbin smirks, that is.
“Finally sorted it out, then?” Changbin says, waltzing into the kitchen, Hyunjin is still half-asleep as he trails after him.
“Uh, yeah, something like that.” Felix says, before collapsing into Chan’s chest with a fit of giggles. Chan smiles staring at him, before the sound of the oven timer going off has Felix pulling away with an ‘eep!’. He turns the oven off and pulls out the brownies, clapping his hands in success. Chan just stares at him with heart eyes, unable to look away from how pretty his boy (his boy) is.
Chan watches as Felix cuts up the brownies before giving one to Changbin and one to Hyunjin, the former excitedly munching away whilst the latter sleepily nibbles on his. Felix turns to Chan with one and Chan happily accepts it and bites into it, immediately savouring the sweet taste of Felix’s baking. Once everyone had finished theirs, Felix packs the rest up in a tub and places them on the side before wishing Changbin and Hyunjin good night.
Felix grabs Chan hands and pulls him upstairs, to Chan’s room, before letting go and launching himself onto Chan’s bed with a giggle. Chan smiles, quickly changing into some clothes to sleep in (he remains very aware of Felix’s eyes tracing his every move), before making his way over to his bed.
Chan settles in beside Felix, laughing softly when the younger immediately sprawls across him, cuddling into Chan’s warmth. The younger must’ve been tired, as when Chan looks down a few minutes later, Felix is fast asleep. Chan smiles, running a gentle hand through Felix’s hair, the younger nuzzling into his chest like a cat.
It’s only when Felix tightens his grip on Chan in his sleep unconsciously, does Chan realise what they are now. They’re a couple now, and Chan thinks if he sleeps now, he’ll wake up from this dream and be single once more. Chan shakes the thoughts from his head, focusing on the blue-haired boy still in his bed, still snuggling into him, still with him in all his raw beauty.
Felix’s freckles are a cluster of constellations sprawling across his cheeks and even though only his left one is visible to Chan, Chan still reaches a hand out to trace the marks, fingers brushing against the smooth skin of Felix’s cheeks. Felix shuffles slightly at the movement and Chan’s fingers pause in their dance across the starry path before him, but the younger settles once more and Chan’s fingers continue their gentle steps. Chan stays stuck in this moment, utterly entranced by the smooth landscape of Felix’s skin, until Felix shuffles, hitching a leg over Chan’s left one, and pressing closer, forcing Chan to pull his hand away. Chan stifles a laugh at that.
“Okay, okay, I got your message.” Chan mutters softly, a smile fixed on his lips as he laces his arms around Felix, before closing his eyes to try and sleep.
Chan imagines he hears Felix mutter his name in his sleep.
--
When Felix wakes up, he immediately feels awash in warmth and safety. He goes to move but arms around him restrict his movement and then everything from the previous night comes rushing back to him. Felix smiles and snuggles into Chan once more. Chan shuffles in his sleep, arms loosening around Felix and Felix takes this as his opportunity to move, laying on his side, legs still interlinked with Chan’s, to stare at the pretty boy before him. Chan is fast asleep, his black curls messy where they rest upon his pillow and his face looks peaceful in his slumber.
The angle Felix is staring at Chan at allows him to take in Chan’s side profile and Felix swears it’s a sight he’ll never get over. Chan has always been stunning to Felix, there’s no doubting that, but there’s something about seeing Chan with his guard down, with his trust placed within Felix, that makes Felix’s head go fizzy with love and adoration. He continues to stare, admiring the way Chan’s chest rises and falls with each breath he takes, the way his face remains so serene and calm, and Felix wants to stay in this moment forever.
It isn’t long until Chan wakes up, blinking slightly before registering Felix’s presence, and Felix’s smile blossoms, big and wide, when Chan sleepily mumbles a good morning.
“Hello.” Felix responds with, his voice croaky and deep with sleep. Chan turns to lay on his side, his brown eyes still misty, fresh from waking up, and Felix finds himself lost in their never-ending layers of gorgeousness. Chan presses closer after a while, his nose brushing against Felix’s and Felix giggles, before the pair settle back in silence again, Chan’s eyes closed once more whilst Felix’s eyes trails paths across Chan’s face.
“Did last night really happen?” Chan eventually mutters and Felix smiles.
“Yep.” He says and Chan smiles then, peeking one eye open before opening the other eye.
“Good.” Is all Chan responds with before closing both his eyes and draping an arm over Felix’s hips. Felix giggles softly, pulling back to place a gentle kiss on the tip of Chan’s nose before burrowing into Chan’s neck, sighing in content at the warmth Chan gives off. It just feels right, being here in Chan’s arms and, before long, Felix feels his eyes slip close and sleep overtake him once more.
Felix imagines he hears Chan call him his ‘beautiful prince’.

Felix shivers as he steps into his flat. His final class of the semester had gone wonderfully, if a tad too long, until everyone began to leave and came to realise that the snow had fallen thick and fast in the three hours they’d be couped up in the lecture hall, listening to Dr. Kim drone on about food safety and the proper food handling techniques. It was a required module every year and Felix hated it.
Felix was taking his coat and scarf off when Chan came downstairs, smiling at the sight of one very snow-covered Felix.
“Here, give me those, I’ll hang them in the shower, so they don’t create a puddle anywhere else.” Chan says and Felix hands the older his coat and scarf with a smile, appreciative that his boyfriend (his boyfriend) had offered help. Felix slips off his shoes before trailing upstairs after Chan, his tote bag still slung across his shoulder. Chan leaves the shower room, a towel in hand, and Felix smiles tiredly at the older boy, following after him into Chan’s room (which may as well be Felix’s room too now with how often he sleeps in there). He dumps his bag alongside Chan’s black backpack, before padding his way over to his pyjamas, quickly changing into them.
Felix tiredly stumbles his way over to Chan’s bed and sits on it, parting his legs to allow Chan to stand between them. Chan rubs the towel through Felix’s hair and Felix sighs in content. The towel is warm and Felix smiles when he registers it. It makes Felix’s heart beat faster because Chan remembers his habits and is helping him out, instead of leaving Felix to do it all.
Felix nearly falls asleep as Chan towels his hair dry for him and it’s take Chan chuckling and calling his name for the younger to open his eyes again.
“You sleepy, sunshine?” Chan asks, crouching down to peer into Felix’s drooping eyes.
“Mhm. Cuddle me, please?” Felix asks, his voice soft despite the sleepiness thickening his tone. Chan just laughs, before gesturing for Felix to move so he can climb into the bed. Felix reluctantly stands up, allowing Chan to get in the bed first, before immediately clambering on top of him, resting his full body on top of Chan. “Is this okay?” He sleepily mumbles and Chan mutters a small ‘of course’ back, to which Felix snuggles more into Chan’s warmth, sleepy noises of content leaving his lips.
“Thank you Channie.” Felix mumbles into the skin of Chan’s collarbones and Chan shivers at the hot breath that tickles his skin.
“Of course, angel.” Chan responds and Felix smiles, quickly falling asleep.
“I love you.” Chan whispers but Felix is long gone, sleep overtaking his mind, and he thinks it’s all just a part of his dream.

It doesn’t take long for Christmas Eve to settle upon the flat and all seven of Chan’s friends had spent the day bouncing around in excitement. They had agreed to spend Christmas together and Chan couldn’t deny that he was really excited to get to spend Christmas all cooped up with Felix in his arms.
Evening rolls around and the eight boys all find themselves settled up in the living room, watching shitty Hallmark romance movies. Changbin throws out the occasional snarky comment which has Hyunjin giggling at him, and everyone else groaning at their affection and lovesickness. Changbin speaks again, Hyunjin giggling once more and Chan doesn’t even have time to react before Minho is throwing his pillow at the pair, Seungmin laughing at his boyfriend’s actions.
“Minho!” Chan chastises and Minho turns to him with a glare.
“What? He was being annoying!” Minho says and Felix giggles at that, distracting Chan from his chastising. “Oh my fucking god, you’re so whipped.” Minho groans and everyone breaks into laughter at that. Jisung nearly falls off the couch from laughing so hard but luckily his boyfriend, Jeongin, catches him, but the near-fall sends everyone into another fit of laughter.
“We’re all terrible.” Changbin says and every agrees to that, laughter still calming down.
--
Chan’s clock reads 11:44pm as he finally enters his bedroom. Felix is in the bathroom, so Chan quickly gets changed before clambering into bed to wait for the younger there. Felix comes into the room not long after, his blue snowflake-adorned Christmas pyjamas sitting cutely against his body, and he happily runs over to jump onto Chan’s bed.
“It’s almost Christmas!” Felix squeals and Chan smiles at the younger and how utterly adorable he is. Felix falls against Chan, squealing when the older boy flips them over, Chan hovering above Felix. Chan smirks before tickling Felix, the blue-haired boy immediately bursting into giggles and laughter and shrieks, his cheeks tinted a vivid shade of red. Chan relents after a while, falling back against the pillows by the wall and Felix stays beside him, panting after the torture.
“Now that,” Felix pants. “That was mean.” He concludes and Chan giggles, the sound catching Felix’s attention. Felix sits up and hovers over Chan before leaning down to kiss him. The pair kiss for ages, occasionally taking breaks to catch their breath, or in Chan’s case, pulling away to trail kisses over Felix’s cheeks and jawline and down his neck, the pretty sounds Felix makes making the wires in his brain twist pleasurably.
Felix pulls away fully after a while. His lips are red and swollen from Chan’s insistent kisses and biting, and his blue strands are flying every which way from Chan’s roaming hands. His eyes are glassy and Chan smirks at the effect he has on the younger. Felix turns to face the clock and gasps at the time. 11:57pm.
“It’s almost midnight.” He whispers, voice slightly hoarse from the kissing. Chan smirks, shifting to lie down properly.
“Come here, angel. Let’s welcome Christmas in properly, yeah?” Chan asks, voice soft and oh-so-loving, and Felix turns to him with wide, glossy eyes.
“I’d love to.” Felix whispers once more and lays atop Chan, like he’d done on his final day of the semester. The two remain cuddled, the dim light of Chan’s bedside lamp providing them just the right amount of light to make the atmosphere feel electric and alive. Chan keeps checking the time and when at last it reads 00:00, Chan taps his fingers along Felix’s spine. The younger makes a noise of protest, half-thick with sleep, and Chan laughs.
“Merry Christmas, baby.” Chan says and Felix adjusts then, looking up at Chan before sitting up properly, leaning in to kiss Chan, softer and softer as time goes by, the passion and love Felix feels for Chan shining through the kiss clearly.
“Merry Christmas.” Felix whispers when he pulls away, his forehead still pressed against Chan’s. Chan smiles, tucking a few strands of Felix’s hair behind his ear, before placing another gentle kiss against Felix’s lips.
“Come on, baby. Let’s get some sleep, yeah?” Chan says and Felix pulls away, biting his bottom lip and looking away, nervous energy radiating off of his body in waves.
“I have something I need to say first.” Felix says and Chan nods, rubbing soothing circles into Felix’s hips. “I love you.” Felix whispers, so quiet that if they weren’t as close as they were, Chan definitely would’ve missed it.
“Oh angel, were you getting worked up over that?” Chan says, smiling sweetly at Felix when the younger turns to look at him with glassy eyes, nodding his head. “I love you too, Felix. I think I always have.” Chan says and Felix gasps, before tears start spilling down his cheeks. He buries his head into Chan’s neck, mumbling thank yous over and over. Chan just rubs his back, soothing him. Eventually Felix calms down and pulls his face out of Chan’s neck.
“Come on, angel, we don’t need tears on Christmas Day, yeah?” Chan says, wiping at the tears that still linger on Felix’s lashes and cheeks. The younger nods sniffling a few more times, before settling against Chan, cuddling into the older boy’s warmth.
“Good night Channie. I love you.” Felix whispers again and Chan smiles, returning the sentiments, before Felix speaks up together. “I hope we can spend next year together. And then every year after that.” Felix mumbles, his voice so sleep heavy that Chan knows the younger will be asleep before he could even finished replying, so Chan doesn’t say anything. His heart is racing within his chest and when Felix is fast asleep, Chan sighs.
“Whichever God blessed me with this angel, I appreciate you.” Chan murmurs before finally letting sleep claim him, ready to spend the day with his friends and the love of his life when he wakes up.
I don't have a lot to give
But I would give you everything
All my time is yours to spend
Let me wrap you in with my skin
