Chapter Text
Christmas morning, oh what a wonderful day. Not to a certain Wednesday Addams although. She thought Christmas was a pointless season, a season for exchanging gifts? How stupid. She would have gone her whole life with this mindset, that was until her first Christmas at Nevermore.
To her surprise she received a plethera of gifts, from the likes of her "friends" so to speak. Enid, Ajax, Bianca, the twins.. and Xavier. The gifts from the first few were normal, well deemed as normal to most people. Enid got her a very sentimental pair of boots, blacked out like she wanted.. of course she got herself a matching pair so that she could twin with her roomie. Ajax bought her a coat, his excuse was "it's cold, and it was black so I bought you that.. sorry" she appreciated the sentiment atleast. Bianca bought her a sabre for fencing of course, seemingly an expensive one, the hilt looked to be encrusted in something shiny but.. Bianca didn't tell. The twins bought her a book each, simple but she needed all the books she could get. Finally it came to Xavier.. but before you find out what she got from him, let's run it back a few days..
Wednesday POV:
I didn't give Christmas much thought, as it was a childish event that only those who wanted or needed something partook in. I myself needed nothing in particular.. although a few more knives wouldn't hurt. Enid told me that I should buy stuff for my friends, I didn't have friends so what's the point in wasting money on anything like that. Although I did accompany her on a "shopping spree" where something caught my eye. A bracelet, simplistic but elegant. Darkened gems encrusted in the center of each minascule piece of metal.. It was nice, very nice. Something my style.
Xavier's POV:
Whilst shopping with Ajax, Bianca and the twins I caught Wednesday staring into a shop window. It looked like she was looking for a bracelet? Although I glanced her direction again, and she was walking away.. hm maybe it was too expensive? Or she just didn't like it that much, either way I wanted to have a look. I moved away from the artsy shop that I was stood at, and walked towards where she once stood. Luckily she didn't notice me walking that direction. I glanced through the shop window, now that was what he was looking at for certain.. a black bracelet? That would suit her a lot.. ah, that's why she didn't buy it.. $1600. Well then..
Wednesday POV:
I bumped into Bianca on my so called "shopping spree" I don't know why I asked her this, it had to be something to do with her once dating him but.. still, it confused me to why I even mentioned it. I asked what I should perhaps buy Xavier for Christmas.. she looked puzzled at first but figured it was just a nice gesture seeing as he bought me a phone not too long ago. She told me the last thing she saw him near was an art shop, he bought me a $500 phone, i can't just get him a canvas and say we're equal.. so I thought of something.. sentimental so to speak. I made my way over to the art shop, purchased a canvas and some paints, because well.. I was going to paint something for him.. yes you heard that right. I know, I've gone soft. Stop.
Christmas came around fast. Everything went just how you'd expect it to go, I received a few gifts, gave a few gifts.. I know, I felt.. festive enough to give things away, don't question it. The day was looking like it was about to come to an end, after we all ate food, Enid brought up Xavier's name which reminded me, I almost forgot to wrap a certain someones gift..
I made my way to his shed, I figured he'd be hiding out here, seeing as he didn't enjoy Christmas in the slightest, he told me so himself. Over text, of course. Something about family made him not enjoy the season, it makes sense, i always hated the season too.
Anyways, among arriving to his shed, I was seconds away from knocking when he opened the door ever so suddenly, almost knocking me over, making his gift fly out of my hands..
"Oh, Wednesday.. sorry about that." he muttered. "It's starting to snow, come inside, i was about to come looking for you" he said with a smile, holding open the door for me.
"Thanks Xavier" I mumbled avoiding his gaze, walking into the art gallery of a shed.
"So, why were you going to look for me?" I said, placing the gift clearly not meant for him on the desk next to me..
"I could ask you the same thing, Im guessing it has something to do with that slighly large square you've got wrapped up there" he said smirking, staring at me with those.. gorgeous eyes..
"Don't let it get to your head, Xavier. I was feeling festive, you're not special." I lied to him "anyways, you haven't answered my question Xavier." I said glancing at him once again.
"Oh yea, I was feeling a little festive too.." he mumbled, pulling out a neatly wrapped black box from his back pocket.. he slowly walked towards me before holding his hand out with the box in his palm. I reached out and took it, i sure was intrigued.
"It's nothing much, it caught my eye and reminded me of you, that's all." He spoke, smirking as I opened the box.. The bracelet? The one I was looking at.. a small smile plastered my face as I looked up at him and blinked a multitude of times.
"I-I was looking at this the other day but.. it cost so much.." I stuttered, fumbling my words at the kind gesture.
Xavier's POV:
I could see the slight smile on her face as she looked up at me, i didn't want to admit that I saw her looking at it and instantly bought it for her.. Although I wanted to, I couldn't do that. Immediately after smiling her tiny head off, she spun on her heels and picked up the neatly wrapped square by her side..
"Look.. I-I made an attempt. Not because you inspired me so don't let that get to your stupid brain.. but because- because.. I don't know" she stuttered, mumbled over her words handing me the gift avoiding my gaze..
I took the gift and slowly unwrapped it, similarly to the painting i once made of her playing the cello.. she tried, emphasis on tried to paint me, painting the raven in the quad of Nevermore. Honestly I was speechless.. I didn't know what to say to her, I would have said something but she interrupted me..
"I-I know it's bad but.. I thought I'd give it a-" I cut her off, "I love it, Wednesday I love it" I muttered, glancing down at her big brown eyes.. for a moment I could see a smile grace her face once more.. before her eyes averted my gaze once again.
Wednesday POV:
For some reason, my intrusive thoughts kicked in, for no other reason whatsoever, instead of replying with a simple thank you. Or a quick smile, something else came over me.. I pushed aside the painting that I made for him, placing it on the table once more.. I walked closer to him, before pulling him down by his collar.. my breath became shakey, but I did it.. I firmly but softly planted my lips on his, giving him my thanks in the only way I saw fit at that time. Rising to my tiptoes I kept going, as he didn't pull away he only leaned in further.. I felt his hands grace my hips before he slowly pulled away.. my lips felt sore, puffy at that, my breath was shakey and i was definitely a shade of red.. I smiled at him genuinely, staring into his gorgeous eyes once more.. he smiled back before pulling me into a tight embrace..
"Thank you.. Thank you Xavier." I mumbled between breaths, stuffing my face into his shirt.. whilst my arms draped over his shoulders. His arms firmly wrapped around my waste once more.. he uttered his final words before we stood there holding one another for a long while
"It's safe to say.. this is the best Christmas I've ever had" he spoke between breaths.. for the first time, I couldn't agree more.
