"I'm bored!" Your cry for help bounced off the silent war room's walls.
Apparently evil creatures also had their holidays, there were no signs of any cattle mutilations, no reports of mysterious disappearances or weird deaths. You were glad of course but you never really knew what to do during your free time. Sam was reading some obscure dusty grimoire encompassing the evolution of Astral magic from the 10th to the 18th century. Dean was just as focused on his weapons, making sure they were all very clean and that they all worked perfectly. You didn't want to disturb them more, as seeing them so peaceful and relaxed was such a rare sight. It brought joy to your heart.
So you got up and went to the kitchen. You wandered around aimlessly for a while, munching on some beef jerky and looking for a way to pass the time. Then it hit you. What better way to pass the time than to prepare something delicious for the ones you love? You had already bought all the ingredients for Christmas cookies and eggnog earlier that week in preparation for the holidays. It was a bit early to do so but who cared, really?
You started baking while sipping on the halved whisky bottle every now and again.
"What are you doing?" Cas asked behind you, making you jump.
"Cookies and eggnog. I just put the eggnog in the fridge to cool but there is still some whisky left, wanna help me finish it?" you smirked knowing he never really indulged on these kind of things. Well, mainly because food and drink taste like molecules to him, you understood the lack of appeal in that.
"Alright." He set the bottle on the table and sat down staring up at you, waiting.
"Oh?" you let out, surprised, "oh ok! Let's do this!" You laughed and brought two glasses to the table. Inside, you could barely contain your happiness in finally having some alone time with your secret crush.
"Let's do what?"
"Let's drink and see who will get out of here walking straight!"
"This does not really work on me, you know that right?" he asked, pointing at the bottle.
"I know, you can always pretend just to make me feel like a winner?" you tried. He nodded with a smile.
As soon as you poured him a shot he downed it.
"Wow, easy cowboy!"
"I need to get a head start, your feeble human body wouldn't be able to keep up otherwise," he said, slightly untying his tie.
"Oh! Getting cocky, are we?"
He just shrugged and smiled his gorgeous smile. You tried to ignore the blush rushing to your cheeks but he seemed to have noticed, his eyes never leaving you.
"The- the hum... the cookies, the oven, it's quite hot in here..." you stuttered, mentally slapping yourself.
"Your turn."
After several rounds of shots, you were trying to forget about the horrible hangover in the making and focused on Castiel, who had just took the bottle and downed the rest of it easily.
"Told you. Nothing," he said, his eyes glistening more than usual.
"Ok, stand up and make a four then."
He got up and raised four fingers, confused.
"No, turn into a four!" you laughed.
"I can't turn into a four, that's absurd..."
You stood up and mustered all of your attention to show him the position without falling. He copied you and his balance was impeccable. Seeing you sigh in defeat, he started to sway slightly. You knew it was to make you feel better and childishly, it did.
With no hint of real emotion or regret, he just said "oh no! I think I got carried away, you win! I guess I uh, failed to impress you?"
"Cas, you're a heavenly creature who can teleport and heal wounds, it's fair to say I am already quite impressed by you," you laughed.
"And I am impressed by you, you're the sweetest person I know..."
You stopped laughing at his seriousness. To try and deflect the subject, you got up to take the cookies out of the oven. Their sweet aroma filling the air.
"Wow Cas, I think that's the alcohol speaking..." you joked.
"I'd say that's the alcohol helping..."
No amount of alcohol could ever make you feel that warm. His words took you aback and your head was spinning. You had nothing to lose so you went for it.
"You know what would impress me right now?" you asked, getting closer to him, "if you kissed me..."
He smiled and bent down slightly, his nose touching yours, his right hand sliding up your back, to your neck...
"Hell yeah! I smell cooki- Wow!" Dean yelled down the corridor before coming to a stop at the kitchen's entrance. He looked at the both of you in shock.
The three of you not looking anyone in the eyes, not moving either, hoping that maybe the stillness would miraculously dissipate the awkwardness.
"Right uh... as, uh, as you were!" Dean finally said, walking backwards slowly. You heard his quickening footsteps down the hall and laughed, making Cas laugh along with you.
