Work Text:
“Evening,” Luke greets when he walks into the apartment. What he oddly finds is his two best friends, Calum and Ashton, sitting at the kitchen counter while their other friend Michael is pacing back and forth in the living room. Calum and Ashton are watching him as he moves.
“Hey,” Calum replies, still not looking away from Michael.
“What did I miss?” Luke asks, walking over to the two sitting at the counter.
“Michael got himself into a bit of a pickle,” Calum says, and he finally looks away from Michael to look at Luke. “He’s been pacing like that for about an hour now.”
“No one has tried to stop him?” Luke asks, frowning.
“We’ve tried ,” Ashton finally speaks up, also looking at Luke. “It’s like we’re not even here, Luke.”
“He’s going to end up burning a hole in the carpet if he keeps it up like this,” Calum grumbles.
Luke rolls his eyes, and he makes his way into the living room. He sighs as he watches Michael. “Mike,” he says, but to his surprise, Michael still doesn’t stop pacing. “Michael.” He huffs, annoyed that Michael still is ignoring him, even though Luke knows Michael knows that he’s here. Luke grumbles, before walking over to Michael, he grabs a hold of him by the arms when Michael towards him.
“Hey,” Michael finally says, and he looks up to glare at whoever stopped him.
“Don’t hey me, Clifford. You know I hate being ignored,” Luke says, pouting like a child.
“Oh, hey Luke. When did you get back?” Michael asks, his eyes lighting up.
Luke huffs out a laugh, finding this entire situation ridiculous. “Were you really that focused on pacing that you didn’t hear me talking to Calum and Ashton? Or me calling your names multiple times? Honestly, Mike. I thought I was going to have to pull out the full name.”
“Ew. You know how much I hate being called by my full name,” Michael grumbles.
“So, talk to me. What’s gotten you this worked up?” Luke asks, crossing his arms against his chest.
Michael lets out a sigh. “My work is having a Christmas party this year,” he finally says.
“Okay? That doesn’t sound so bad?” Luke replies, tilting his head with curiosity.
“Oh, that’s not even the best part of this situation,” Calum speaks up, earning a giggle from Ashton.
Michael looks over at Calum and glares at him. “Shut up, you asshole. I wouldn’t be in this mess if you or Ashton would help me in the first place,” he says with annoyance.
“We’re married, Michael. You can’t blame us,” Ashton argues. “Neither of us are comfortable with it.”
“With what ?” Luke asks, letting out a frustrated sigh. “Can someone please tell me what’s going on?”
“Michael needs a date for his Christmas party, and he thought one of us would say yes even though we’re already married. We love you Mike, but we don’t love you that much,” Ashton says.
“Which is rude . The problem is that I don’t know anyone else,” Michael whines, and he looks over at Luke. “A plus one is required tot his stupid Christmas party, and I have to go. I can’t get out of it.”
“You didn’t think to ask me?” Luke asks, frowning.
“I thought you were dating that one dude?” Michael asks. “That one you met on Grindr?”
“We called it quits a few weeks ago. He was a nice guy and all, but it just wasn’t working out,” Luke says.
“Oh damn, I’m sorry Luke,” Michael says sincerely.
“Oh, so you have a problem not asking Luke because he was dating someone but you don't have a problem asking your two friends are married and in a committed relationship?” Calum asks with annoyance.
Michael huffs, and looks over at Calum. “His relationship was newer. I wasn’t going to risk messing that up for him, however I thought my so-called friends would help me out for one night and-”
“Guys!” Luke shouts, and lets out a laugh. He rolls his eyes as he watches Michael and Calum glare at each other, and then he reaches over and snaps his fingers in front of Michael’s face a few times, earning his attention. “Well, I’m single now, aren’t I? And you don’t have to worry about messing up my relationship. I’ll be able to help you out, Mikey.”
Michael blinks as he looks at Luke. “Really?” He asks, surprised.
Luke nods. “Yeah, you’re my best friend Mikey, and I’d like to think you’d do the same for me if I were in your position,” he smiles when Michael nods his head instantly. “Exactly. We’ve got each other’s backs.”
“You don’t have any other Christmas Eve plans?”
Luke shakes his head. “My parents are going on a winter vacation this year so they’ll be gone, and my brother’s are spending time with their partners. We’re getting together for new year’s.”
“Why are they going on a winter vacation?” Michael questions, raising his eyebrows.
“They said they’re sick of spending Christmases in Australia and want to experience a winter Christmas,” Luke explains, shrugging his shoulders. “I can’t blame them. Australia's weather is absolutely miserable in the winter. So, I’m stuck home with no Christmas plans. Is that when the party is? Christmas Eve?
Michael nods. “Like I said before, it’s a party for the whole company. We’re required to go with a plus one, which don’t even ask me why. I guess the higher ups want to get to know they’re employees.”
Luke hums, and nods. “It makes sense. I’ll be able to go. Any requirements for how to dress?”
Michael shakes his head. “It’s not a fancy party so no requirements. A lot of people will be wearing horrible ugly Christmas sweaters and no I’m not wearing a matching one with you,” he says.
Luke pouts. “You can’t even match ugly Christmas sweaters with me?”
“He’s right. Luke’s going through all this trouble to help you be your fake boyfriend?” Ashton adds.
Michael looks over at Ashton and glares at him. “You’re dead to me Irwin,” he hisses, before looking back at Luke and almost melts when he sees the famous puppy dog eyes on his face. “Dammit.”
Luke whoops in victory, throwing his arm up. “We’ll talk more about this later, Mike. I’ve now got some Amazon shopping to do,” he says, and turns to rush to his bedroom.
Michael lets out a sigh as he falls down on the couch with a plop.
“Why do you still look miserable, Mike? Luke agreed to be your fake boyfriend to your Christmas party,” Calum says, jumping up from the stool he was sitting on, and making his way over to Michael.
Michael looks over at Calum. “I didn’t want to ask Luke. Why do you think I came to you two first?”
“Why didn’t you wanna ask Luke?” Ashton asks, also walking over to Michael, standing beside Calum.
Michael sighs, and pushes himself up. “I thought it was obvious, but I guess not. I’m in love with Luke, kind of have been ever since we met,” he says. “Now he’s gonna pretend to be my boyfriend and it’s gonna be really fucking hard to pretend to be in love with him when I really am in love with him.”
“You really have gotten yourself in a pickle, huh?”
Ashton whacks Calum on the arm, earning a glare from his husband. Ashton sighs, and sits beside Michael on the couch. “You’re thinking too negatively, Mike. Maybe this will be a good thing. You’re taking Luke as your fake boyfriend to a Christmas party. Luke’s now single. Maybe you’ll end up under the mistletoe or something and a Christmas miracle will happen,” he says.
“And you’re being way too optimistic,” Michael retorts. “There’s no way Luke will like me back.”
Calum chuckles. “You should have more confidence in yourself, Mike. You’re a great catch,” he says.
“Please. We’ve been best friends since we were little kids. You of all people should know that I have terrible self-confidence issues,” Michael grumbles. “This is going to end in a disaster. Maybe I should-”
“No,” Ashton warns, stopping Michael before he can get up from the couch. “You are not going to go in there and break Luke’s heart. He’s already so excited about the bloody matching sweaters.”
“Fuck. He’s going to make me wear a terribly ugly Christmas sweater,” Michael whines.
Calum laughs. “Really Mike? You’re saying that like that’s the worst part of this entire situation,”
Michael scowls, before standing up. “You people are no help whatsoever,”
“What? Come on, we’re plenty of help! Mike!” Calum shouts, and laughs as Michael walks away.
Michael can’t stop thinking about the Christmas party, because he’s taking Luke as his plus one, and Michael has no idea how anybody’s going to believe that Luke is actually his boyfriend, but Luke is excited and Michael is not going to ruin Christmas for Luke because he’s nervous and worried.
It’s a week before the Christmas party when Luke asks about the party again.
“So,” Luke says, walking into the living room, where Michael is watching a random Christmas movie. Luke walks over to Michael and sits on the couch beside him. “Michael-” Luke snaps his fingers in front of Michael’s face, earning his attention. “We should talk about the party.”
“What about it?” Michael asks, frowning.
Luke huffs. “You want people to believe that we’re dating, right?”
“I mean, yeah…”
“Right. So, we should make up a story of how we got together, and discuss boundaries,” Luke says.
“Boundaries?” Michael asks, frowning as he stares at Luke. “What for?”
Luke huffs. “Because, if we want people to believe us… we have to act like a couple. Like, holding hands and kissing and stuff, you know? I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable around me,” he says.
Michael scoffs. “I’d never feel uncomfortable around you, Luke,”
“Michael,” Luke whines. “I’m being serious. I want to know what you’re comfortable with.”
“I’m comfortable with anything, Luke. You know I’m not one to hold back in a relationship,” Michael says. “Kissing is fine. Holding hands is fine. I’m a clingy bastard. You know this.”
Luke lets out a sigh. “You are a clingy bastard,” he mumbles. “Okay, fine. But we still need a story.”
Michael blinks. “I mean, we met through Cal and Ash? That’s the real story,”
Luke huffs. “But that’s boring . We could make up anything and you wanna go with that?”
Michael huffs out a laugh. “I thought we were trying to make my co-workers believe us, Luke?”
“ Fine . We’ll go with your boring story,” Luke grumbles.
Michael laughs. “Okay. Do you have anything better then?”
“I- I don’t know. I’d like to imagine you saved me from a guy who was an asshole and we fell in love,” Luke says. “Something more romantic. I imagine you would fight a guy because they were a douche.”
“Well, I certainly wouldn’t stand back and let a guy harass you, Luke,” Michael grumbles. “Especially you. You’re a sunshine, and you don’t deserve to be harassed by a douchy asshole.”
Luke grins. “See? You’re already doing great, being a protective boyfriend and all.”
“I know how to be a good boyfriend, Luke. Besides, even if we weren’t dating at all, I’d protect you. I’d do the same with Cal and Ash too,” Michael says. “I’m not letting any of my friends get harassed.”
“Whoever your future boyfriend is, they’re lucky to have you,” Luke says.
It could be you , Michael can’t help but think, but he’s too scared to ask Luke out on a real date.
Christmas Eve sneaks up on Michael faster than he’d like it to. He’s nervous about the Christmas party, but Luke keeps talking about how excited he is and it melts Michael’s heart.
Luke’s not the only one who keeps talking about the Christmas party.
“See you tonight, Mike,”
Michael looks over and sees one of his co-workers, Crystal. “Yeah, see you tonight,”
“You bringing a plus one?” Crystal asks, looking up at him.
“I mean, we kind of have to, don’t we? I thought it was a requirement?” Michael asks.
“What? It wasn’t a requirement. Who told you that?” Crystal asks, raising her eyebrows.
Michael frowns. “But, Brad said-”
“Brad’s full of shit. We all know that. You should have double checked with Marie,” Crystal says.
Michael groans, because great. He’s forcing Luke to come to this stupid Christmas party for nothing, forcing him to be his fake boyfriend. Michael feels terrible. “That’s just great,”
“Well, are you bringing a plus one then?” Crystal asks.
Michael hesitates, before nodding. “I’m bringing a plus one. My boyfriend,” he lies quickly.
“You have a boyfriend?” Crystal asks, perking up. “You never mentioned you were dating someone!”
Michael can’t help but blush. “It’s- It’s kind of new. We’re taking things slow,” he says. “Please don’t embarrass me tonight, Crystal. It’s my first time bringing him to something like this, and I want him to have a good time. It’s what he deserves after all. I’m forcing him to come to this thing.”
Crystal laughs. “Someone’s definitely going to embarrass you, especially if you’re bringing a boyfriend. Honestly, Mike. I can’t remember the last time you dated anyone,”
“It’s… been a while,” Michael admits. He looks down when his phone dings, and can’t help but smile when he sees that it’s a text from Luke. The Christmas sweaters have arrived right on time, and Luke’s excited about wearing matching sweaters with him. “I gotta go. See you tonight.”
Michael gets home, and immediately gets a Christmas sweater shoved in his face.
“Luke, this is horrendous,” Michael complains when he looks at the sweater.
“Excuse me. They’re fucking cute,” Luke argues, glaring at Michael. “Look at this. It’s got a penguin on it!” He pulls on his sweater that he’s already put on.
“Why does mine have llamas on it? This doesn’t even make sense,” Michael continues.
“It doesn’t have to make sense. It’s Christmas. Now shut up, and go put on your sweater,” Luke demands, shoving Michael towards the bathroom. Luke walks back to the living room, where Calum and Ashton are cuddled up on the couch. Elf is playing on the TV.
“I can’t believe you’re forcing Michael to wear an ugly Christmas sweater. He’s going to hate that thing,” Calum says, tearing his eyes away from the TV to look at Luke.
Luke huffs. “Well, we’re going to a Christmas party. We need to be festive,” he says.
“I want a picture of the two of you together. You’re both going to look ridiculous,” Ashton adds.
Luke pouts. “Stop being mean. We’re going to look cute,”
“I look fucking ridiculous,”
Ashton pulls out his phone as soon as he hears Michael’s voice, and turns to look at Michael, laughing as soon as he sees Michael in the ugly Christmas sweater. He takes a picture of Michael. “Brilliant!”
“Ashton,” Michael growls, glaring at him. “Quit it.”
“No can do,” Ashton says. “Luke, go stand next to Michael so I can get a picture of the two of you.”
“You can be really annoying sometimes,” Luke says, but he walks over to Michael nonetheless, and throws his arm around Michael’s neck, grinning as he looks at Ashton’s phone.
“Smile Mikey,” Ashton says, laughing when Michael continues to scowl at him.
“Send that to me please,” Luke says, and he lets go of Michael. Luke turns to look at Michael, and smiles. “You don’t look ridiculous. You look cute. Llamas suit you.”
“Why fucking llamas?” Michael complains. “Why do you get cute penguins?”
“Because I love penguins,” Luke retorts in the cutest voice Michael’s ever heard.
Michael rolls his eyes. “We have to get going. The weather is supposed to get bad tonight.”
“Come on. I’ll drive,” Luke says, grabbing Michael’s hand and tugging on it so he can lead the way.
“And you don’t even have to drive. What a lovely boyfriend you have there,” Ashton says playfully.
Michael glares as he walks past Ashton and Calum on the couch. “You’re dead to me,”
The last thing Michael hears before leaving with Luke is the sound of Ashton cackling.
The road isn’t too bad on the way to Michael’s work building. Luke’s a pretty decent driver, unlike his other two friends. It’s absolutely freezing by the time they get out of the car though.
“Fuck, it’s cold,” Luke complains as he gets out of the car. He hurries over to Michael.
“That’s winter for ya,” Michael chuckles softly, but he reaches over and grabs Luke’s hand to help with body warmth. Luke doesn’t complain or ask about it. It’s almost like it’s natural. “Come on, then. Let’s get inside. I bet Crystal and Sierra are already inside.”
“Crystal is your co-worker? You’ve mentioned her before,” Luke says as he follows Michael.
“Yeah, she’s in my department. Sierra is her girlfriend,” Michael explains as they walk inside. They go up a floor where the party is being held. There’s a greeter at the door.
“Michael, pleased you could come,”
“Hey Mary. Well, I mean… it’s not like I could miss it,” Michael says.
“And you have a guest. Name?”
“This is Luke. Uh, Luke Hemmings. He’s my date. Boyfriend,” Michael says awkwardly. Luke can’t help but giggle, which makes Michael blush. “Stop it.” Michael nudges Luke.
“You stop being so awkward,” Luke whispers in Michael’s ear.
“Alright, you're marked down. Enjoy the party,” the woman, Mary, says.
Michael gives her a kind smile before leading the way inside. “I can’t help it, okay Luke? I’m an incredibly awkward person. We know this, and you shouldn’t be surprised,” he whispers.
“I know Mike,” Luke sighs softly. He looks around the room, smiling at all the Christmas decorations. “Wow. This place is epic. I wish our apartment looked like this for Christmas.”
“You are not decorating the apartment like this,” Michael warns. “We’ve got a tree. Isn’t that enough?”
“No,” Luke whines, tugging at Michael’s hand. “You’re just a Grinch!”
“Are we talking about Michael?” Luke looks over as two women walk over towards them. “Because, Michael certainly fits that description.”
“Crystal,” Michael warns. “Quit making me look bad in front of my date.”
“Oh! You’re Crystal. Michael has mentioned you a few times before,” Luke says, and lets go of Michael’s hand so he can reach over and shake Crystal’s hand. “I’m Luke. Michael’s boyfriend.”
“Nice to meet you. This is my girlfriend, Sierra. We never knew Michael had a boyfriend,” Crystal says.
“It’s new,” Michael spits out quickly. “I told you it was new the other week.”
“That’s fair. How did you two meet?” Crystal asks curiously.
“Mutual friends,” Luke replies.
“You remember Cal and Ash?” Michael asks, and Crystal nods. “Yeah, we met through them. We hit it off with each other immediately and it went through there. We’ve been taking things slow, right Luke?”
Luke nods, and looks up at Michael with love in his eyes that makes Michael’s heart melt, and Michael desperately wishes the love was real.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Luke. I absolutely love your sweater, by the way, and I can’t believe you got Michael to wear one too. He’s such a Grinch. He’s the only one who hasn’t decorated his office for Christmas!” Crystal exclaims, throwing her arms up.
“Yeah, I know!” Luke exclaims as well, shaking his head in disbelief. “Michael won’t let me put any Christmas decorations up in the apartment. He thinks they’re all tacky and extra.”
“We have a bloody tree,” Michael hisses, and crosses his arms against his chest, glaring at Luke.
“It’s not enough!” Luke whines.
Sierra giggles as she watches the two bicker. “This is so domestic. You two are so cute,”
“We should go on a double date sometime! How fun would that be?” Crystal suggests.
Michael’s eyes widen, because he didn’t even think about having to date Luke outside of the Christmas party. He thought it was a one night kind of thing. Luke’s not gonna wanna pretend to date him forever. He loves dating. He’s gonna wanna find a partner eventually.
“I don’t-”
“That would be awesome,” Luke says, nodding with excitement.
Crystal and Sierra stay and chat for a bit before Sierra starts complaining about being thirsty, and Crystal takes her to get something from the food table.
“Luke,” Michael hisses once they’re alone. “What were you thinking?”
“What?” Luke asks, frowning as he looks at Michael.
“Why would you agree to a double date?” Michael asks.
“What’s so wrong about a double date?” Luke asks, blinking.
“But we aren’t… fuck, Luke. We aren’t actually dating. I thought this was a one time thing,” Michael says.
“Look, if you really don’t want to do it, I’m sure the girls will understand. We can make up some shitty excuse or something. It doesn’t matter to me. I was just trying to be nice. Now, where’s the bathroom?”
“Luke-”
“Bathroom, Michael? Please?” Luke asks, which makes Michael wince, because Luke rarely calls him Michael. It’s usually either Mike or Mikey. That’s how Michael prefers it to be.
Luke eventually leaves to use the bathroom, leaving Michael to feel guilty. He didn’t mean to upset Luke, but he has to be realistic about this. This is a one time thing between him and Luke, even if Michael wants it to last forever. This is exactly why he didn’t want Luke to be his fake date.
Michael walks over to the food table, snatching one of the Christmas cookies.
“Hey Mike,”
Michael looks over and sees Adam, one of his co-workers. “Hey Adam,”
“Why do you look so down? You’re at a Christmas party for crying out loud,” Adam says cheerfully.
“Come on, Adam. We all know how much I hate Christmas,” Michael grumbles with annoyance, before chomping on the cookie. “I’m only here because I have to be here.”
“That’s not exactly the spirit of Christmas, now is it?”
Michael huffs. “Did you not just listen to a word I said?”
“Anyways. I heard you brought a date?” Adam asks, and looks around. “Where is he?”
“He’s in the bathroom,” Michael tells him. “You and Luke would get along swimmingly. He’s annoying about Christmas too.” He walks over and grabs a cup, pouring himself some punch.
“Maybe you should be a little more grateful. Honestly. I don’t know how any man puts up with you with that kind of attitude,”
Michael whips around to shout at him, but Adam is already walking away.
“Mike, is everything okay?”
Michael looks over and sees Luke walking over to him. He scoffs, and turns back to his drink. “Fine. Everything’s perfectly fucking fine,” he mumbles.
“Look, I’m sorry about earlier. It was stupid to get upset. Obviously this is a one time thing. I guess I just got excited about meeting some of your co-workers that you talk about so much,” Luke continues, before sighing. He walks up to Michael, grabbing a hold of his arm. “I don’t want to cause an argument. Can we just… can we please just enjoy the party?”
Michael bites his lip, and he looks over at Luke. “I’m sorry too. You didn’t even have to come to this, and you did. I- I should be more grateful. I really appreciate you doing this, Luke,” he whispers.
Luke reaches over and kisses Michael on the cheek. “You’re forgiven. I still love you,” he says.
Michael truly doesn’t deserve a friend like Luke.
By the end of the night, Michael is exhausted. He’s talked to so many people, danced with Luke, but ultimately, he’s had a good time. He thinks without Luke, he would have been miserable at this party.
“We should get going soon,” Michael whispers in Luke’s ear. “I don’t wanna be on the road late.”
“Hey, you’re not the one driving home,” Luke whispers back.
“I can drive if you’d like me to,” Michael retorts.
“You can’t leave without kissing your boyfriend,” Crystal speaks up.
Michael blinks, and looks over at Crystal. “What are you talking about, Crys?”
“Look up,”
Michael does look up, and he groans eternally when he sees that he and Luke are standing directly under a mistletoe, and when the hell did that thing even get there? They’d gone all night without having to actually kiss each other. But, rules are rules, unfortunately. Everybody knows that you have to kiss the other person when you’re under the mistletoe.
Michael looks over at Luke, who’s cheeks are now bright pink. “Luke?”
Luke looks up at Michael. “Do you-?”
“I mean, you know the rules…” Michael whispers.
Sierra giggles as she watches the two, and then she grabs Crystal’s hand. “Come on, babe. Let’s leave these two lovebirds to themselves,” she says, before pulling her girlfriend away.
Luke takes a deep breath once the girls are gone. He reaches up to gently cup Michael’s cheeks with one of his hands. “We don’t have to do this,” he whispers.
“Luke, I-” Michael begins. Just tell him the truth, Michael. “Luke-”
“It’s okay-”
“It’s not okay,” Michael whimpers. “Luke, I’m in love with you. I’ve been in love with you since we met.”
“What?” Luke asks, pulling his hand away from Michael. “Michael-”
Michael quickly shakes his head. “I’ve been too scared to say anything about my feelings, because I care too much about our friendship. I thought my feelings were obvious. I guess not, because not even Calum or Ashton knew how I was feeling about you. Then I thought we had to bring a date to this stupid party but it turns out I was misinformed and you didn’t even really have to come but-”
“Michael-”
“But you came anyway even though you didn’t have to come because you’re a good friend. You’re such a good friend and that’s all you’ll ever be, and I-” Michael gasps when Luke’s lips are suddenly on his, and Michael finds himself melting into the kiss, because he’s been waiting years for this moment.
The moment ends too quickly when Luke pulls away from the kiss.
“If you would let me talk, you’d know that I feel the same way about you,” Luke whispers.
“Luke-”
“I’m not just saying that either, and it’s not out of pity or anything stupid like that. I fucking love you, Michael Clifford. You’re my best fucking friend, but I want to be your damn boyfriend,” Luke says, gripping onto Michael’s shirt. “So, will you do the honors of officially being my boyfriend?”
Michael lets out a wet laugh. “Ashton was fucking right. A Christmas miracle did happen, as cheesy as that sounds, and yes. I’ll be your damn boyfriend,” he says, before kissing Luke once more passionately.
“Best Christmas ever,” Luke whispers against Michael’s lips.
“As much as I’d love to kiss you forever, we really should get going. I heard Betty say ten minutes ago that the roads were starting to look bad,” Michael whispers.
“Shit,” Luke pulls away from Michael, and nods. “Okay. Let’s go.”
“Yeah,” Michael says. He grabs Luke’s hand, and leads the way towards the exit door.
Michael will have to apologize to Crystal for leaving without saying goodbye after Christmas break, and he’ll definitely have to talk to her about that double date.
It takes Luke and Michael an hour to get home thanks to the roads being covered in snow. Luke’s a careful driver, and he was taking his sweet time driving in the snow. But Michael wasn’t complaining.
“Oh, look. The lovebirds are back!” Calum shouts from the living room.
“We could have been a murderer, Cal,” Luke says as he walks into the apartment, shrugging his coat off.
“Yeah, but you weren’t,” Cal replies. “How was the party?”
Luke glances over at Michael and grins, and they walk into the living room holding hands. “It was great,”
“I learned that Luke can’t dance for shit,” Michael says.
“What? You were the one stepping on my toes the whole night!” Luke exclaims.
Calum raises his eyebrows at the two. “You two actually danced? With each other?"
“Yeah, it was a terrible mistake. But, we also kissed under the mistletoe. That was nice,” Luke says.
“We’re boyfriends now. Where’s Ash? I can’t wait to hear him say I told you so,” Michael says.
“I told you so,”
Michael looks over and sees Ashton walking into the living room. He rolls his eyes when he sees Ashton with a smirk on his face. “Yeah, yeah. Whatever. If you’ll excuse us, I’d like to go cuddle with my boyfriend because it’s fucking freezing outside and my hands are cold,”
“Don’t worry Mikey, I’ll warm you up-”
Ashton groans as Michael and Luke disappear. “They’re going to be so gross, aren’t they?”
“Babe, we were the exact same way when we first started dating. We’re still like that,” Calum says.
Ashton smiles and walks over to the couch. He bends down and kisses Calum sweetly. “Yeah we are, because we’re fucking cute as hell.”
“Yeah, but Michael and Luke are also cute as hell. We have some competition,” Calum says.
