Summary
Dirt kicks up into a whirlwind as legs powerful enough to dig into the ground slide off into a leap, a solid thump cushioning a figure’s fall. In the same breath, a booming pop echoed into the vast night desert, the burning smell of gunpowder smoking into the air. Absconding, the assailant whimpers at a distance. The constant ringing makes it hard to focus on where they went, sighing in defeat as their target climbs back to their feet. They look to the spot ground where they had leapt away from, a steaming-hot bullet nestled just a few feet away.
Smacking his lips, the figure picks up his prospector’s hat that had fallen off of the top of their head.
“Bitch never misses…” Heavy dissatisfaction in his voice weighed his breath bitterly as he whispered.
