Work Text:
Horatio and Archie were sitting at the table provided in their inn room, getting tipsy on cheap beer.
“It’s quite a miracle that we managed to get leave today,” Archie remarked. “Although drinking in a dingy little inn room isn’t everyone’s idea of the perfect Christmas, at least it’s warm and isn’t too damp.”
“Yes, I’m pleased Captain Pellew allowed us the time off. It’ll be nice to sleep in a proper bed for once.”
“A toast,” Archie declared, raising his tankard, “to a Christmas spent in the lap of luxury.”
Horatio half-smiled, and tapped his own cup against Archie’s.
