Summary:

Mary and Sybil were tucked behind a pair of trees, a snowball in each hand.

Notes:

Inspired by the prompt “snowball fight”. 🤍❄️

Set in winter 1909, because I never get tired of pre-canon Crawley sisters 😭💖

Work Text:

Mary and Sybil were tucked behind a pair of trees, a snowball in each hand.

They could hear Edith and Patrick’s footsteps drawing nearer.

“We aren’t playing hide-and-seek, you know!” Edith called, annoyed.

Sybil stifled a giggle, and Mary raised her eyebrows and put a finger to her lips.

When their sister and cousin were nearly between the trees, they leapt out and threw their snowballs.

Edith immediately retaliated, throwing her own snowball at Mary.

Patrick’s gallantry made him hesitate, long enough for Sybil to hastily form another snowball to hit him with.

He threw his at her after that.
