“Mummy?” George called, running up to Mary.
“Yes, darling?” she replied, crouching down to meet him at eye level.
“Can I hang this on the tree?”
He held out an ornament to show her – a little red bauble.
“Of course you can,” Mary smiled. “Where would you like it?”
George considered for a moment, then pointed as high as his little arm could reach.
“Up there.”
“Well, I’m not sure we can get it quite that high,” she laughed, scooping up her son and lifting him to reach the taller branches, “but I can help you put it up here.”
