Cold.
Cold, so fucking cold, is all Astrid can think- and she doesn’t know if it will end.
She sinks so far down she can’t even see the surface. And she doesn’t know how long it takes, but- but after a while, once her eyes have closed, she’s pulled out of the water, her body soaked and dripping, and after a long, fuzzy moment, Hiccup’s face appears in front of her. “What… what t-took you so long?”
He wraps his arms around her, and he’s so warm! So, so warm, and she lets herself fall again.
“Hey, Hiccup- I think she’s waking up,” a voice murmurs, and Astrid turns her head, moaning. “Mmngh.”
“Hey,” Hiccup whispers, stroking her hair. “Hey, Astrid. You okay?”
Astrid swipes lazily at his hand, and he pulls it away. “Sorry.”
She immediately falls back asleep.
