Work Text:

When Carlos and TK became fiancé's, neither of them thought they'd be getting married 11 months after TK had had his bout with hypothermia. But here TK was, in their wedding venue at the Reyes ranch, about to walk down the aisle.

TK had forgone his dad's offer of walking him down the aisle, opting instead, to be escorted by his mother-in-law, to have that motherly feeling with him. As if on cue, Andrea poked her head into the room TK was in.

"Are you ready Mijo?"

"Yeah, as ready as I'll ever be," TK replied as he linked his arm through Andrea's and they moved out of the room.

When TK and Andrea appeared at the end of the aisle, and TK's eyes landed on Carlos, he couldn't contain the bright smile that came across his face. Carlos was wearing a white button down shirt, an all black suit, a periwinkle tie, a black cowboy hat, and a pair of cowboy boots. Contrasting that, TK was dressed in a white button down shirt, a periwinkle suit, a black tie, and black dress shoes, as well as a yamaka hat, as was Jewish tradition.

Standing to the left of Carlos was his best man, Paul, and standing to the right of where TK was going to stand, was his best woman, Nancy. Standing in the middle of where Carlos and TK would be standing, was Judd, who was officiating the wedding.

As Andrea and TK began moving down the aisle, TK saw Carlos swipe at a single tear that had escaped from his eye.

After Andrea had escorted TK to his spot to the right of Judd, Andrea made her way over to her chair to watch her son get married.

"Everyone in attendance," Judd said, "We are gathered here today to witness TK Strand and Carlos Reyes become husbands. Would you guys like to say your vows?"

Nodding, TK turned to face Carlos, "Carlos Reyes, the moment I lay my eyes on you at the Honky Tonk, I was interested in you. I was a little stupid at first, and didn't realize it until I was being processed by you at the police station. I came to Austin with a world full of grey, but you have turned my world to colour again, and I'm not going to run again. You're mine, forever and always."

"Tyler Kennedy Strand, I was intrigued by you at the Honky Tonk after that rescue in the rain, and although you have tested my limits, by bringing Lou into our home for a brief time, I have always and will always love you."

As the applause died down from hearing their vows, the guests' attention turned back to Judd.

"Do you TK Strand, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to live together in matrimony, to love him, comfort him, honour and keep him, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?"

"I do," TK said, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"I do," Carlos said, his eyes also brimming with tears.

TK Strand and Carlos Reyes have chosen rings to exchange with each other as a symbol of their unending love. As you place this ring on Carlos' finger, please repeat after me. With this ring, I thee wed and pledge you my love now and forever.

"With this ring, I thee wed and pledge you my love now and forever," TK said, gently taking Carlos' hand and sliding the ring on.

Carlos, as you place this ring on TK’s finger, please repeat after me. With this ring, I thee wed and pledge you my love now and forever.

"With this ring, I thee wed and pledge you my love now and forever," Carlos said as he slid the ring on to TK's finger, a tear falling from his face as he spoke.

By the authority vested in me by the State of Texas, I now pronounce you husband and husband! You may kiss each other!"

Wasting no time, TK pulled Carlos in for a kiss, deepening it and smiling into it as Carlos wrapped both of his arms around TK.

Following the wedding ceremony, the new husbands, along with their guests, moved to the big white tent set up in the backyard of the ranch, where the reception was being held.

Walking into the tent, TK and Carlos' breath was stolen away as they saw all the decorations they had picked out for the first time all together. There were paper snowflakes hanging from the tent ceiling, glistening with sparkles that Charlie Ryder and the Vega twins had decorated, each table for the dinner was decorated with white and iris coloured flowers and light blue tablecloths, and for humour, there was a replica of last year's "snowmageddon," as Nancy liked to call it, set up in a corner for people to take photos at.

Dinner was four courses, salad and latkes, tamales, red snapper, and for dessert, a decadent lemon blueberry cake with vanilla buttercream.

Shortly after, it was time to dance, and as everyone moved over to the plank of wood set up as the dance floor, Carlos felt a hand tap his shoulder.

"Want to dance?"

Reminiscent of their night at the Honky Tonk way back when, Carlos' only reply was "yeah," as he followed his husband on to the dance floor.
