Work Text:
When he got to his room, the first thing Thomas did was flop down on his old bed with a sigh.
He lay there for a few moments, basking in its familiarity. Although he used to complain frequently of how uncomfortable it was, and those complaints were not exactly unjustified, after the trenches, it felt like lying on a cloud.
But still, he couldn’t stay here all day. The convalescing officers would be arriving soon, and there was work to be done.
He shrugged off his coat, and hung it neatly in his wardobe before making his way back downstairs.
