Green's Musical Misadventure

Summary:

Green is silly goofy and thinks that the Color Gang will be jealous or something if he becomes successful, and hides his musical talent. Silliness ensues.

Notes:

This fic is based on a headcanon that I wanted to expand upon. I didn't want to make someone else write a fanfiction based on a silly little headcanon, so I did it myself. It's also my first fic I've ever written, so it's not going to be very good (Constructive criticism is welcome, I want to improve!). Updates are whenever I have the time and motivation to make a new chapter. Thanks for reading!

Chapter 1: The Upload

Chapter Text

Green was, to oversimplify it, worried. He had started making remixes to video game music 2 months ago, and got small success. With a few dozen subscribers on YouTube, 3 weeks ago he had decided to make his very first original song, which he finished 2 days ago. The last 2 days he had spent polishing the audio, triple checking that it sounded fine, crying in a corner from stress, making sure there were no audio glitches, and getting a basic audio visualizer that most small-time YouTube musicians used for the video itself. They wondered if they should just scrap it. After all, what if everyone hated it and it ruined his potential career? He was questioning it for the millionth time, and yet… if he never released it, he may never find success. What if this would be their big break? What if this kick-started his career instead of ruining it? He had to try. So, he uploaded it. Immediately, his resolve shattered. He rushed to cancel the upload, but it was already done thanks to Yellow's genius at tech making his computer extremely powerful. He sat there for almost 15 minutes, staring at the screen. When he finally came back to his senses, he bolted to his bed and stayed there until he fell asleep.

It had been over a week since Green uploaded the song. He hadn't checked on it or even opened YouTube in that time, out of fear that his suspicions would be correct. However, today he had received a message from Chosen (the only person who knew about it) to “Get off of your ass and look.”. So Green went over to his computer, shaking from fear. As he powered it on and typed in the password to his account, the only thought running through his mind was that everyone must hate it. Surely they had to? It was impossible that Chosen was telling the truth, right? Green opened the browser, and went to YouTube. Still shaking, he opened the studio tab. He froze. “It… it has THAT MANY VIEWS?” he whispered. After a few moments, he started to cry as relief washed over him. It had so many views, likes, and comments, and his subscriber count was in the hundreds now! They liked it! Now all he had to do was tell the others and… wait. What if the others got jealous? Or worse, felt worthless because they weren't successful too? He couldn't tell them. But then what could he do? He decided he would have to keep it secret.
