"Steve! Stop it! Please!" Eddie's cries carried across the parking lot.
Steve could taste the thick copper blood in his mouth, not unfamiliar with its taste or texture. His head smacked to the side, smashing into the asphalt as another sickening blow was delivered and another wave of nausea, excruciating pain and fury ran through him. At least they were targeting him now, and not Eddie.
He was happy with that.
