Work Text:
It was a cold, snowy December afternoon at my house. I was making some hot chocolate in the kitchen as my girlfriend Jacky lamented about being snowed in.
-“What the fuck, dude! I wanted to go build a snowman!”- she yelled while thrashing around on the couch in the living room, bored and annoyed.
-“Well,”- I sighed, pouring the warm brown drink into two mugs, -“There are other things we could do until the weather gets better.”-
-“Such as?”-
-“Such as, say…watching a movie, for example.”-
I walked over to her, and understanding I wanted to sit too she brought herself in a sitting position as I handed her the hot chocolate. We both took a sip of it; it was every bit as hot as her temper, but after it got a bit more bearable it was like the sweetest thing ever had just poured over my tongue, much like her personality when the wall of peevishness gets knocked down.
-“So, what’s your favorite genre?”-
-“Oh, y’know, action, sci-fi, that stuff. I like explosions!”-
I gave her a pretty disappointed look as I sipped my drink. -“So…not romantic comedies, Christmas movies or something like that?”-
-“Nah. Too, ya know, childish for me.”-
She stayed silent for a couple of seconds before seemingly having an enlightenment.
-“Wait! I know what we could watch!”-
She turned on the smart TV, clicked the YouTube icon and then searched for something named “Violent Night”.
-“What? Who names a movie something like ‘Violent Night’?”-
Jacky didn’t answer; she just clicked on the icon of the movie and typed in her credit card information.
The movie apparently was about some criminals taking a rich family hostage at Christmas, and then Santa Claus comes in and kicks everyone’s ass.
The movie was okay to me, although some scenes were just too gory to watch, but for Jacky it seemed to be the most interesting thing ever.
-“You seem to be really into it, aren’t you Jacky?”- I asked during one of the numerous fighting scenes, gently caressing the sole of her foot, covered by a soft wool sock.
-“Yup, I am. And stop it, you’re tickling me!”-
-“And what are you gonna do if I don’t?”- I chuckled, this time outright tickling her rather than just caressing.
-“This!”-
Next thing I know her hands are all over my stomach, my worst spot, and I couldn’t help but laugh-screech.
After a couple seconds I decide that I had enough, and I finally get my hands off her feet.
-“Okay, okay! You win! But please stop!”-
-“Fine.”- she smiled -“Now get back here, we ain’t even halfway through the movie.”-

We both stayed silent for the rest of the movie, except for that one time I went to the bathroom.
After a while the film finally ended, the credits rolling along with the stinger with that teen guy posting about the attack on his social media account, not really shocked or anything but rather sounding like he was in search of views and followers. Taking a look at my watch I noticed it was now 19:30, so I got up to go make dinner.
-“Hey Jacky, get up, it’s dinner time. Want me to put some frozen pizza in the oven?”-
No answer.
-“Jacky?”-
Only then I noticed she was snoring, having fallen sound asleep on the couch.
-“Well,”- I whispered, -“Guess I could let you have a nap before eating…”-
Making sure not to wake her up I took her in my arms bridal-style and brought her to bed, tucking her under the warm blankets, and kissing her forehead.
-“See you when dinner’s ready, girl.”-
