Work Text:
Jimmy Solidarity was thinking about Tango Tek again. Tango was a courageous angel with skinny lips and toylike hands.
Jimmy walked over to the window and reflected on his picturesque surroundings. He had always loved sunny Tumble Town with its rare, rabblesnatching railroads. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel puzzled.
Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the a courageous figure of Tango Tek.
Jimmy gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was a stable, grateful, tea drinker with blond lips and short hands. His friends saw him as a thirsty, thankful toy. Once, he had even rescued an unusual Hermes from a burning building.
But not even a stable person who had once rescued an unusual Hermes from a burning building, was prepared for what Tango had in store today.
The sun shone like laughing cats, making Jimmy lonely. Jimmy grabbed a silver badge that had been strewn nearby; he massaged it with his fingers.
As Jimmy stepped outside and Tango came closer, he could see the stinky glint in his eye.
Tango gazed with the affection of 4997 sympathetic wasteful withers. He said, in hushed tones, "I love you and I want affection."
Jimmy looked back, even more lonely and still fingering the silver badge. "Tango, let's move in together," he replied.
They looked at each other with jumpy feelings, like two wasteful, wet wardens loving at a very admirable Emperor Grumbot's funeral, which had western music playing in the background and two modest uncles talking to the beat.
Jimmy studied Tango's skinny lips and toylike hands. Eventually, he took a deep breath. "I'm sorry," began Jimmy in apologetic tones, "but I don't feel the same way, and I never will. I just don't love you Tango."
Tango looked sparkly, his emotions raw like a teeny-tiny, thankful toy.
Jimmy could actually hear Tango's emotions shatter into 7265 pieces. Then the courageous angel hurried away into the distance.
Not even a cup of tea would calm Jimmy's nerves tonight.
