Summary
Two and a half years ago, Beatrice escaped the OCS, alongside Camila, Mary, and Shannon, and fled to the United States to work within the safety of Arq-Tech’s Seattle headquarters. After two years of freedom, and with the help of her friends, Beatrice finally feels safe enough to begin figuring herself out. Dreams of a mysterious woman have been haunting her for well over a decade, and despite leaving religion, Beatrice still struggles to accept herself and her desires.
Ava spent eleven years of her life unable to feel anything below her neck, but thanks to Arq-Tech’s scientific advancements in neural implants, she regained mobility. After five years of traveling the world with her friends, catching up on everything she felt she missed, Ava still felt a restless yearning for something more. Ending her travels in Seattle, Ava began college at the University of Washington, reconnecting with her old friend, Yasmine. Craving more excitement in her day-to-day, Ava got hired on at Bar La Vasseur, a lively coffee house and bar near the University.
