Work Text:

Allison had never killed anyone with her hands before. She had made criminals and murderers hurt and kill each other with her power. She had gotten people to kill themselves. It often had given her nightmares in the past, even if she desperately tried to rationalize it by saying that it was what needed to be done.

Because the people that she and the rest of the Umbrellas had grown up, fighting, had been bad people and would have killed them as soon as they had the chance. And those same criminals would kill other people too.

So, for Allison? She fully was sure that she was doing the right thing, when she had killed those criminals in the past.

But she had never killed anyone with her hands before.

She wasn’t sure why she had done it this time with her hands. Why she had ordered with her enhanced power, because of being exposed to the bubble around Viktor and Harlan, for Harlan to stay perfectly still, as she reached out and covered his mouth and nose with her hands and waited.

There was no particularly pleasant way to die that existed. And even if there were, Allison wasn’t killing him this way out of mercy or out of hate-just that hearing that Harlan had killed her, Viktor and the others’ mothers, which meant that he was the reason why Claire, Allison’s daughter no longer existed, erased whatever hesitation Allison had about not allowing him to be handed over to the Sparrows.

The encounter that they had with the Sparrows, all thanks to Harlan, had ended with the Sparrow Academy being destroyed and Reginald and the other Grace being inside, and being destroyed in the process.

All of the Sparrows had survived.

But they had demanded Harlan’s life as payment, for working with the Umbrellas.

Ironic, considering that Allison seriously doubted that the Sparrows had cared enough about Reginald or Grace to be upset about their deaths.

But that was the predicament that the Umbrellas were in now.

This would hurt Viktor, and she had known it, the moment she had put her hands over Harlan’s mouth and nose.

But she hadn’t done it to hurt him. She had done this for him. Viktor would be sad, would be furious. But there was a reason for what Allison had done.

It was for Viktor.

Viktor, who always had trusted so easily. Viktor, who most likely had blamed himself for what had happened to their mothers, even if it wasn’t his fault, it was the fault of a lot of people, which had led to the first apocalypse and had led to them having to travel back in time, which led to meeting Harlan in the first place. Viktor, who was soft and forgiving and selfless and so, so vulnerable.

Viktor, who Allison loved, more than any of her siblings.

Viktor, who Allison had never told this to, but would always protect.

Allison, she knew how this would be perceived. Viktor’s power being given to Harlan, had caused him to lose control and kill Allison, Viktor and the others’ mothers. Which meant that Claire no longer existed.

So, one could see this situation and believe that Allison was paying Viktor back.

Taking a child for a child.

Since, after all, hadn’t Viktor at one time, seen Harlan as his own child?

Only a few days ago, for him, in fact, even if it was several years ago.

But this wasn’t revenge. This wasn’t why Allison had killed Harlan. This wasn’t to hurt Viktor.

Hearing about the mothers was enough to convince her that she needed to get rid of loose ends, of things that could keep Viktor from getting them back in time.

But it wasn’t to hurt Viktor.

Why Allison had done it?

Well, why not? Sissy, Viktor’s former lover, was now dead. There was nothing left to cling itself to Viktor, to drag him down.

And with Harlan dead?

They could go back in time now. Could fix things. Viktor wouldn’t need to let people keep taking pieces off of him. Wouldn’t need to keep letting people take advantage of him.

Harlan? He might have been disabled, but Allison…………maybe it was just PTSD after Leonard Peabody-or Harold Jenkins, but Allison had almost shuddered, every time Harlan had ordered Viktor around, putting Viktor in danger.

Harlan had forced his powers back into Viktor, and Allison could have sworn she felt how much danger Viktor had been in. Even then, she had felt a violent need to kill Harlan, for what he was doing to Viktor.

And now? Now Harlan was dead. Allison had killed him. She would bring his body to the Sparrows. They could go back. Claire would exist. And so would Allison and Viktor.

Viktor would be hurt, would be devastated by the loss of Harlan, as he was over the loss of Sissy.

But Allison could give him comfort, even if he was angry. Viktor’s pain over the loss of his lover, Sissy and over the loss of Sissy's child, Harlan would be soothed eventually. By Allison and by Claire.

Patrick might be a problem. But all she’d have to do was use her power.

Allison might have decided at one point that her power was toxic, dangerous.

But she didn’t care anymore.

The situation had made it necessary.

She would use her abilities to force Patrick to allow her and Viktor to visit Claire.

She couldn’t use her abilities to force Patrick to give up complete custody of Claire-she did that and everyone would be suspicious and immediately try to take Claire from her. So, she had to exercise some restraint, and be content for now with just having Patrick let her and Viktor visit Claire.

Viktor didn’t have to know. Allison could rumor Patrick, without Viktor’s knowledge. And simply tell Viktor, that she had worked things out with Patrick, where Claire was concerned.

So, when Allison dragged Harlan’s dead body into the trunk of the car, closed the trunk and jumped into the front seat of the car and drove off, in the direction of where the Sparrows’ were staying, now that the Academy had been destroyed-again.

Allison knew Viktor would be alright where he was sleeping right now.

This stretch of road, so close to where the city was, had a low crime rate. Especially in this day and age. Viktor would be fine.

And Allison brought Harlan’s body as a peace offering, to the Sparrows.

She opened up the trunk and watched as all of the Sparrows grinned, seeing the man that had destroyed their home, dead in their grasp.

And from there, Allison made the preparations with them.

Then the Umbrellas arrived at the secluded park, which was the only place they could meet, since the Sparrow Academy was destroyed.

And then? Viktor had arrived.

Allison had sighed, knowing the anger and the pain she’d be faced with when Viktor came by.

Viktor demanded what happened and Allison calmly explained, staring at the fire that Sloane and Marcus started, “I killed him, Viktor. He was our ticket to go back in time and fix everything. So, I handed him over. Besides, when were you planning on telling us that he was the one that killed our mothers?”

Allison practically felt the shock from such a revelation from all four Five, Diego, Luther and Klaus.

Viktor shook his head, shocked at this.

“No,” He said, “If you wanted to blame anyone for what Harlan did, blame me.”

Allison actually almost laughed. This wasn’t about blame, well, not entirely. And Allison certainly didn’t blame Viktor.

Not her Viktor.

Allison turned her head at last, to Viktor as she said, “This isn’t about blame, Viktor. This is about what needs to be done. I need to get back and fix things. I need Claire. And I need you. You……….I won’t let anyone else put their hooks in you.”

Viktor’s eyes widened, and he realized that this was a conversation that went way back.

All the way back to Harold Jenkins, who had called himself Leonard Peabody.

Allison took a breath, and ignored how everyone else in the area, Sparrows and Umbrellas alike were watching her and Viktor as she said, “I did it for you, you know.” Allison finally picked herself up from the bench where she’d been sitting and began walking ever-closer to Viktor, “Even if you think I did this to hurt you, the only person I did this for besides Claire, was you.”

Viktor was finally broken out of his stupor, when he saw Allison moving closer to him.

Startled and a shiver going down his back, he tried to move away.

This was not going to work, as Allison was already close enough, and Allison reached out, her hands on Viktor’s hips, keeping the smaller sibling from moving away.

“Allison-“ Diego hissed, sounding worried about what he was watching-not really sure what exactly it was he was watching.

But Allison ignored him.

And she ignored the beeping noises that that cube-Christopher, was making, as the cube floated above, watching-the sounds, Allison presumed, were out of curiosity or surprise.

With a right arm around Viktor’s waist, keeping Allison’s little boy from leaving, her right hand going to cup Viktor’s chin and raising his head so that he had to look at Allison’s eyes in the firelight, Allison said, a dark laugh in her voice as she said, “Now, no one can hurt you. Not Leonard. Not Harlan. No one. You don’t need to worry about why I killed Harlan. I didn’t do it to hurt you. I did it for you, Viktor.”

Viktor was frozen there, shocked as Allison leaned forward, bent on kissing Viktor, and just when Allison’s lips were only a breath away from Viktor’s, Viktor gasped, tearing his chin from Allison’s hand, looking away from Allison, avoiding his sister’s mouth.

He tried not to shake with uncontrolled emotions, but couldn’t.

He had to focus his mind to make sure his powers didn’t get out of hand. He was using every shred of strength he had not to lose control of his powers.

Harlan’s death and Allison acting……….like this, wasn’t helping.

Viktor stared into the darkness, chest hurting.

How could Allison do this? She said that she had done it for Viktor, but to hear the things that Allison was saying now?

Viktor couldn’t handle this.

Viktor tensed, hearing Allison chuckling, her voice sounding sad when she spoke, “It’s okay. I’ll give you time.” Viktor shivered when he felt Allison’s breath at his right ear, speaking against him.

Allison whispered against Viktor, “You don’t need them anymore. I’ll be here for you.”

Allison finally released Viktor, but Viktor’s shivering didn’t stop, even as Allison stepped away from him.

Viktor’s mind was busy, so he barely registered Jayme snorting, “Shit, I knew it. They’re all pervs.”

Allison had done this for him. Had murdered for him.

And now…………now Allison was going to………Viktor tried not to think about what Allison’s words meant.

But one thing that Viktor was sure of right now. He was trapped.

He looked back to Allison, and even with the limited light, Viktor could see the look in Allison’s eyes as the predatory smile played across his sister’s lips.

Allison was not going to let Viktor go.

That was clear enough.

Allison more or less had just staked her claim. And there was nothing Viktor could do about it.

He could never use his powers against Allison.

Not again.

The last time he’d used his powers against Allison, it had given him enough nightmares to last a lifetime.

So, no, he wouldn’t do that. He had no desire to have more nightmares of cutting Allison’s throat.

Which meant that ultimately, Viktor was trapped.
