Unfortunately, it was Kyoka who answered and not the stranger.
“A gift, Princess. Your beloved,” Ochako grit her teeth at the reminder, “has sent you a dancer from the Outlands for entertainment this evening.”
Oh, that did it.
Ochako’s temper flared. She bit into the grape, feeling the messy juices wet her lips.
“Entertainment,” Ochako spat. “He sends me a whore?” She could have barked in laughter if she weren’t so insulted. Like she wanted to watch some floppy worm wiggle in the wind when she already had just about enough of that from her fiancé’s miserable performances.
“Fire dancer.”
Ochako blinked, taking a moment to register that the man had spoken— corrected her.
“Pardon?”
“I’m a fire dancer, actually, not a whore. Though, if it is your desire, then I suppose I could perform while naked, but it does pose certain…risks.”
