Work Text:
Aragorn is looking at his husband and children. He and Legolas have been married for 14 years, they eloped in their senior year in Highschool much to the displeasure of his father. They adopted their first child, Miranda, seven years ago. Four years later, they adopted David and their latest addition, Frankie, joined them four months ago.
Legolas is sitting on the floor, next to the Christmas tree. Their kids woke them up at six am to open gifts. He watches his oldest open her science kit and smiles at her enthusiasm. He can feel Aragorn watching him. He looks up and motions for him to sit down and join.
Aragorn lowers himself to the floor, and soon Frankie is climbing into his lap. He kisses the top of her head. He is glad they adopted her. She deserves a better life than she had prior. He picks up her new toy and wiggles it in front of her face. She giggles and makes grabbing motions. He hands it to her then signs Merry Christmas She signs back, I love you papa He pulls her close and hugs her.
Legolas wipes away a tear. He and Aragorn have come a long way; he just wishes Aragorn’s foster family would get over themselves. They haven’t seen them since they graduated high school. He is glad his fathers always supported them.
The kids are busy playing with their new toys, Aragorn and Legolas are sitting on the couch, drinking Eggnog. Legolas is leaning against his husband, “I love you, Estel.” Aragorn smiles and kisses the top of his head, “I love you too, Greenleaf. Merry Christmas.” Legolas hums, “Merry Christmas.”
