Work Text:

"Touya! Touya! Touya! Wake up! TOUYA!" Touya groaned as he felt one body smack against his body, followed by two more small bodies piling  on his chest, earning a loud groan from the older boy. Someone shook him roughly, prying his eyes open with little fingers. Sighing, he opened his eyes to see Shouto standing over him with a large smile on his face. The seven year old looked ecstatic, jumping up and down on the bed. Natsuo and Fuyumi were right beside him, frantically shaking him.

His first reaction was to think there was something wrong, but based on the looks on their faces, they must've been excited by something.

"What?" Touya grumbled, turning on his side,  away from his siblings, desperate for just a few more minutes of sleep. He knew it was too early to deal with the little ones, and if there was no active fire or raging father,  then he deserved a little more sleep. But his siblings didn't let him, instead grabbing his legs from under the sheets and tugging him out of the warmth of his bed.

"It's snowing!! Let's build a snowman! Come on Touya! It hasn't snowed in ages! Pleaseeeee." Natsuo begged, stealing the duvet from Touya, forcing him up to grab the blanket back so he could return to warmth. Sure, his quirk made him warm but the comfort of his blanket let him shut off his mind for just a few hours. He didn't want to let go of that at- he looked at his phone- 6 am. It was still dark outside but that didn't stop his siblings from wanting to play in the snow.

Shouto tugged at his t-shirt, raising his arms to be picked up. Touya scooped him into his arms with a sigh.. Bad idea. As soon as Shouto was eye level to him he gave Touya the biggest puppy dog eyes he could manage.  Manipulative little shit.

"Please Touya? I want to play in the snow." The seven year old fiddled with his fingers, eyes wide and pleading. God this kid had him wrapped around his little finger.  Looking at the other two hellions,  Touya questioned his life decisions before nodding.

"Fine. Go wrap up warm. We can play for a little while."

It had started out as building snowmen. Touya and Natsuo vs Fuyumi and Shouto. Touya and Natsuo's snowman was almost five feet tall, a giant wreath of green leaves and ice flowers,-   courtesy of Natsuo- on its head, and a scarf around its neck. The sticks they found on the ground and the stones as its eyes and mouth gave it a warm and welcoming feature, with its arms wide open for a hug. Fuyumi and Shouto's snowman was upside down in mid cartwheel, sticks sticking out the top as legs and fluffy socks attached. It had gloves on its hands and a wide smile. All were proud of their work, but the final verdict on who won would be up to their mother- when she woke up. At a sensible time, unlike some little shits. Touya was more than ready to head back inside, when Natsuo chucked a large snowball meant for Fuyumi, but it never met its target- hitting Touya smack dab in the middle of the face. Natsuo’s giggles went  silent, an unsaid 'oh shit' hanging in the air. Natsuo raised his arms in defense, but a snowball twice as big as the one he threw  came barreling towards his face at full speed, exploding on his skin. Natsuo's yelp was drowned in snow, followed by laughter from everyone else.

From the ground, Natsuo grabbed a handful of snow, blindly chucking it  and hitting the three still standing-  their shrill shrieks joining the snow in the air. . Shouto managed to sneak up behind Touya, jumping up to dump his snow down his brother's shirt, before sprinting to hide behind Fuyumi before Touya could catch him. Fuyumi was no help however, running as soon as Touya stumbled towards them, snatching up a giggling Shouto and chucking him into a bank of soft snow.

It was a free for all, no one safe as snow was thrown  all over the place, random handfuls  of snow exploding mid air before they could meet their target. Fuyumi was able to nail Natsuo in the back of the head when he had ducked behind a bank of snow to hide.  Shouto was immediately blamed, and was awarded with  a snowball in the chest. Touya, defending his brother's honor, ran and jumped over the snow bank, dropping an armful of snow onto his sister, who let out  a yelp in surprise.

Running from the scene, Fuyumi grabbed the end of his jacket, pulling him backwards to let Shouto pelt him with snowballs.

"Sho! You traitor!" Touya screamed through mouthfuls of snow as Natsuo joined the attack, Fuyumi pinning the oldest Todoroki down in the snow. Touya yelled about their betrayal, struggling at first but giving up when Natsuo came over and dropped a giant snowball on his head, subduing the fourteen year old in his place. "Traitors. All of you."

The other three giggled, running back inside as soon as Touya started to get up, following them into the kitchen, reaching Shouto first and picking him up, throwing him over his shoulder where the boy pounded his fists on his back, although it didn’t hurt through layers and layers of clothing.

They skidded to a halt in the kitchen when they saw their mother standing in the middle of the kitchen, an unimpressed look on her face. They fell silent, Touya putting down Shouto next to Fuyumi and holding Natsuo's hand. All of their shoulders dropped when their mother smiled, turning to hand them mugs of hot chocolate, cream and marshmallows on top.

"Don't complain when you get a cold. Drink up and go warm yourselves. Breakfast will be ready  in half an hour or so." All four smiled, taking their drinks into the living room where they curled up by the fire.

Sometimes, waking up at six in the morning was an okay thing to do- especially if it ended in a cold, lazy afternoon.
