Summary
“Dance with me,” Hiccup blurts out before he can stop himself, surprising them both.
Jack pauses clearly stunned by Hiccup’s less than eloquent offer but he doesn’t reject him so Hiccup hopes that means he’ll say yes. Swallowing thickly Hiccup very shyly offers out his hand to Jack, sure that his smile has gone crooked again and he’s definitely blushing. But Jack just stares at him and well it’s a little unsettling but Hiccup tries again though he can feel his courage already waning.
“Sorry I meant would you like to dance,” Hiccup corrected nervously, “w-with me? To this song?” Oh Gods he’s so bad at this.
Jack smiles fighting back a chuckle, he really loves how awkward Hiccup is. Taking his hand Jack steps close enough into his space that there’s hardly more than a few inches between them and whispers, “I’d love to.”

Hiccup's friends drag him practically kicking and screaming to a Christmas Dance put on by the LGBTQ+ Pride Committee of Burgess in the hopes of bringing him out of his shell--and hopefully getting laid. There he meets Jack who steals his breath away and shows him that dances can be fun ;)
