   Summary

   Something in the depths of hell was stirring, it was not quite Awake, but it was getting closer. It woke up every few centuries, and would look for the righteous man, if the thing had ever managed to find the righteous man it would have killed him, but it never did, and so after a few weeks it would fall back asleep.
   It wasn’t set to wake during the apocalypse, so the angels didn’t bother with it, but, well, we all know how the apocalypse went.
   And so a few years later after the apocalypse was stopped, the thing began to wake up.
   Castiel sensed it quickly enough, horror lighting his mind and grace as he realized that he wasn’t strong enough to hide Dean from its gaze.
   And so after a quick explanation Team Free Will started warding the bunker even more, hoping desperately that it would be enough.
   But Castiel knew, deep inside of himself, that it would not be.
