"Let’s have fun?" With a twinkle in his eye the boy enthusiastically not asked, but affirmed. The girl would have liked to resist, but she knew that she would have ruined this fairy-tale atmosphere of joy for Jake. She nodded lightly, and they raced down the road, past other dark mansions where life was nominal. There were only two people living now. And only the hot night, and the screaming music from the mansion was evidence of them.
