Summary
After her best friend moved away, Alessa Johnson was ready to declare that the Summer was going to be boring. That is until she gets some new neighbors. They seem alright enough. If you count the group of teens never leaving the house until after dark, almost everyone of the group being stand off-ish, and the chilling sense of foreboding danger Alessa gets when she is around any of them, as being alright. There is also the strange interest that the lead guy, one Jerry Dandrige, seems to have in Alessa. Jerry Dandrige believes that women - human women in particular - are easily lead to the slaughter and easy to manipulate. They are easy targets and easy to prey upon. Actually, all humans are easy prey. Point in fact his current nest of newborns. (Charley is still a pain in his rear end, but at least now he is controllable.) Unfortunately, for him...Alessa Johnson is not your average girl next door. She has this uncanny ability and interest in proving people wrong. And getting under their skin.
