She has a broken heart and no one to make it better.
She’d been treading through life, watching blank faces walk by on bland streets with blurry noises in the background. Sure, every once in a while, she’d recognize a song, or a person, or maybe a store. She might smile at a dog or frown at a siren, but it was always fleeting. It was always gone by the time she was home, to make new scars to cover with the same sleeves she had long grown used to wearing.
For her, life had simply lost its meaning. she was just going through the motions. But then, as she sat in the back of her chemistry class, barely hearing what the teacher was saying, he walked in and sat beside her.
