Eriboea led Hermes to the big jar containing Ares and went on her merry way. After all, in the case that the Alodai saw and got angry, she didn't want to become collateral damage.
Hermes lifted the lid off of the jar and had to hold back a laugh upon seeing the state that the other god was in. Something about the big, mighty god of war being reduced to a whimpering pile of meat and bones in a jar was insanely funny to him, but he shoved that down and remained focused on the task at hand.
"Hermes?" Ares whimpered out, voice weak from over a year of disuse. Hermes sighed.
"Yeah, it's me" he confirmed. "I'm supposed to save you or whatever"
"I'm... Free?"
"That's the idea" Hermes replied with a nod as he reached into the jar and gently got ahold of Ares. "Come on, big guy"
After a bit of struggle, he got the war god out of the jar and slowly carried him away, back to Olympus.
"Thank you" Ares muttered out during this trip, catching the messenger god extremely off guard because Ares didn't thank people.
"Yeah" Hermes replied awkwardly. "No problem, man"
