Summary:

Graduation is finally rolling around and since it's their last night at UA Denki decides to throw a major party between all of the classes at the 3-A dorm and in true Plus Ultra! fashion, pretty much everyone invited shows up to celebrate

Ochako manages to slip away to join Mina and the rest of the Bakusquad (minus Bakugo) to hang out, however during the night Ochako accidentally manages to eat some of the pot brownies that Denki and Sero had left out unlabeled and quickly greens out.

Good thing Hitoshi notices and helps her out.

Work Text:

It’s the last night for the third-year students at UA, and they’re determined to make sure it’s a night to remember. Their last round of exams was officially over and starting tomorrow the third-year students would all be packing up their stuff to move out of the dorms and back home. But for now, they still enjoyed the liberty of the dorms.

Naturally, they decided to host a huge party in the 3-A dorms.

Of course, this party wasn’t just 3-A, but also 3-B through 3-K. ALL the third-years were invited. Could their dorms hold that many people? Probably not. But Denki and Sero had advertised hard for this night and most of the classes had actually shown up. Many of the students were either crammed into the rooms on the first floor or standing outside. A few other groups migrated to the upper floors to hang out where it was quieter and less busy.

And that is precisely where a few of the 3-A students found themselves.

In Sero’s room, there was a decent group consisting of Sero, Kaminari, Jirou, and Hitoshi. They all sat around passing around a bong and chatted, able to hear the beating music, even from several floors below.

Kaminari was just taking a hit when loud knocking came at the door, causing the blonde to choke and start coughing. Jirou laughed, pounding on his back as Hitoshi stood up to check who was at the door.

“If it’s Bakugo we are not opening the door, bro. He’s gonna fucking berate us for getting high and totally kill our buzz. Or Kirishima! He’ll definitely tell on us,” Sero called out as he took the bong back from Kaminari.  But it was neither of those people.

Instead, as Hitoshi opened the door, he found Mina standing outside. As he opened the door further, he was also greeted with the sight of Uraraka which caused him to hesitate.

“Is she cool?” Hitoshi asked suspiciously as he eyed Uraraka, unwilling to allow the girls in unless Mina could vouch for her.

“Ugh, yes. Ochako is chill. She’s not going to tattle on you guys for getting high,” Mina groaned. She placed her hands on her hips and tilted her head off to the side, obviously annoyed. “Now come on, let us in. We’re dying to get away from that crowd downstairs.” And so Hitoshi stood back and opened the door, allowing the two girls into the room. “Whose idea was it to invite everybody anyway? Our dorm is hardly big enough to have even half of the people that showed up in it.”

“To be fair, I totally thought the other classes would be too stuck up to come,” Kaminari piped in.

“Of course you would think that. That’s why you leave the party planning to someone smarter. Like me,” Mina retorted. But it was obvious by her tone that she didn’t really mean it seriously and Kaminari laughed, feigning as if his feelings were truly hurt.

“Ouch, smarter? You only placed two spots above me in our class ranking.”

“Just wait until Aizawa finally puts in our final exam grades. Then we’ll see how much higher I am than you.”

“Obviously not high enough,” Kaminari laughed as he nodded his head towards the bong. “Wanna take a hit?”

“Duh, that’s why I came up here,” Mina responded before she was sitting down next to Sero to take a hit from his bong. Hitoshi’s eyes travelled to where Uraraka was still nervously waiting by the door. She was obviously uncomfortable and Shinso spoke to her softly.

“Mina dragged you along, huh?” he asked.

“Huh?” Uraraka responded before she seemed to process what he asked. “Oh. Yeah, kinda. She said ‘Chako, I really wanna see you let loose tonight!’ and I guess that’s why I’m here.” She paused for a moment before continuing. “Well she also told me I should get laid tonight but I really don’t see that in my cards for tonight.” She laughed it off before she stepped further into the room and took a seat next to Mina.

Hitoshi made sure the door was locked and joined the circle once more, sitting between Uraraka and Jirou. He could already feel his high wearing off, and so he motioned for the bong to come back around to him and took another hit. He could feel Uraraka’s eyes on him and he turned to look at her as he exhaled.

“You wanna try?” He asked.

“Oh, um, I’m not really sure. I haven’t really ever, well, y’know.” She flushed and Mina rolled her eyes.

“It’s alright Ochako no one is gonna judge ya. But yeah, she hasn’t tried and I don’t think taking a hit of Sero’s shit is gonna make her feel good. It’s pretty strong, especially for someone who has never had any before.” And the conversation was left at that.

The night kept going on while the group chatted. At one point Uraraka got up to snoop through the snacks they had laid out and she sat back down a few moments later with a bowl full of chips and a soda in hand. Then about half an hour later Mina got a message on her phone and she checked it before swiftly getting up.

“Well you guys I’ve got a booty call,” Mina declared as she made her way towards the door.

“Is it really a booty call if you and Kirishima have been dating for the past two years?” Uraraka questioned. This made Hitoshi snort, and Uraraka looked over at him, smiling with pride before she looked back towards her friend.

“He texted. He wants my booty. Sounds like a booty call to me,” Mina teased. “And you guys better take care of my girl or else I’ll leave some of my acid in your body wash,” she threatened. And then just like that she left.

About another 30 minutes went by before Uraraka stood up, swaying on her feet. “I don’t feel too great guys so I’m gonna go up to my room. Thank you for letting me hang out.” Uraraka smiled at the small group before she stepped outside and Hitoshi frowned. She hadn’t been drinking at all, had she?

X-X-X

Ochako felt awful. Her world was practically spinning and her head hurt. Like there was a weighted blanket covering her entire brain. As she left the room to start stumbling towards the elevators she knew she was going to be lucky if she could even make it back to her room.

As she finally reached the elevators, she slumped against the wall and sighed, closing her eyes to breathe before she discovered that closing her eyes made it much worse. It felt like her body was floating or spinning or something when she closed her eyes. Like how she felt when she floated herself back in her first year at UA. So she kept her eyes open, trying desperately to focus as she reached out to press the button to go downstairs. Downstairs and then up. Then to her room.

She tried her best to remain focused. The elevator dinged and she slipped inside, pressing the number of her floor. It was a moment before she realized her mistake as the elevator brought her up to the fourth floor. But once the doors opened and she noticed that this wasn’t her floor, she groaned internally.

“No, that’s wrong,” she muttered aloud. She let out a soft groan and pressed the button for the first floor and waited patiently as the doors closed and brought her down once more. It was now that she noticed just how badly it felt to be going down in an elevator. Her stomach flipped and she felt like she was going to be sick. The elevator dinged again and opened but Ochako, unfortunately, wasn’t on the first floor yet. Instead, the doors opened to the sight of Shinso. He looked shocked to see her before he quickly shook his head to step inside. “Oh hey, Shinso,” Ochako hummed as she admired him walking in. He was so tall and he reached over to press the button for the doors to close. Ochako wasn’t sure it sped things up at all.

“Did you eat anything in the room?” Shinso asked.

“What?”

“Did you eat anything while we were hanging out in Denki’s room,” he asked again. But it sounded much more like a demand and Ochako frowned.

“No,” she stated back firmly. Before she thought about it and laughed, wondering why she said no when she knew she did. “Yes, I did. I mean I had the chips and ate one of the brownies while I was getting my snack. Why?” Ochako gasped for a moment and leaned towards Shinso, whispering in the elevator. “Did I eat something bad?”

“Something like that,” Shinso groaned. “You’re probably insanely high right now. I thought you were when I saw the way you stumbled towards the door because you weren’t drinking, right?”

“No, I wasn’t drinking anything,” Ochako agreed.

The doors dinged once more and opened, this time, to the first floor. No longer separated on a different floor or on the elevator, the music became alarmingly loud. Ochako groaned and brought up her hands to her ears, squinting her eyes shut until the whole world spun and she had to open them again. “I hate it,” she declared.

Shinso chuckled and reached out to support Ochako as the pair started moving forward. His arm against her felt so nice. So strong. Ochako wondered briefly why she never talked to Shinso much. And as she looked towards his face she was awestruck. He had such handsome features and Ochako giggled at the thought, causing Shinso to meet her gaze.

“C’mon. I don’t know how much you ate but things probably aren’t going to be fun in another half hour.”

Ochako did as asked, letting Shinso guide her through the common room to the other side of the elevator so they could go up on the girls' side to the safety of her own room. She continued to cover her ears the entire way over and up until the elevator door finally opened on her floor.

“What room are you in?”

“That one,” Ochako declared as she pointed at one of the doors. She started to rummage in her pockets for a key before remembering that she hadn’t even locked her door to begin with. She laughed, laughing at herself for looking when she knew the door was unlocked. Shinso didn’t even react.

He helped her into her room and then he was leading her to the bed. He was gentle, supporting Ochako while she sat down into her bed and oh my goodness her bed was so soft it was insane! She reached down, running her hands back and forth across her sheets and gasped, staring up at Shinso.

“My sheets are so soft!” she declared. Shinso gave her a relaxed grin before leaning down to grab her legs and pivot her into her sheets. As soon as Ochako laid back, it was like everything changed. Oh wow . She was really fucking stoned.

The ceiling above her was practically swirling and her mind felt even heavier than before. And oh her bed also felt so comfy. Shinso waved his hand over her face and she rolled her head over to look at him.

“What’s up?” she asked.

“I really don’t want to leave you like this so I’m gonna get some shit and be back later, okay?” Ochako nodded along. Yeah, that would be alright. A grin split across her face as she pictured herself cuddling with Shinso. That would also be so nice.

“Okay come back fast,” she replied. Shinso couldn’t help but laugh a bit.

“Just stay out of trouble until I’m back.” He stood up and Ochako watched as he finally left her room.

X-X-X-X-X

Hitoshi was going to murder Denki and Sero the next time he saw them. As soon as he stepped foot outside of Ochako’s room he was sending a text to both of them.

Hitoshi: I know you guys probably think it’s fine right now but Uraraka ate some of your brownies. I don’t know how much and she probably doesn’t either right now. You guys better be prepared to apologize to her in the morning because she’s definitely going to green out tonight.

He hit send but as he was finally stepping into the elevator he decided to add on to his original message.

Hitoshi: And next time you make edibles label them. Or at least hide them. We don’t need the wrong person accidentally eating them. You’re lucky it was Uraraka.

Okay, now he was good. With that squared away, even though they most likely wouldn’t check their texts until the morning, Hitoshi was on his way to his room to grab some supplies. It’s been ages since he’s greened out, but he still remembers just how awful it can be.

He doesn’t say anything as he passes through the common room again and towards the other elevator and, thankfully, no one bothers him either. He can’t help but feel anxious knowing that with every passing moment Uraraka was probably getting worse.

On his floor he practically sprints to his room, stepping inside and grabbing his schoolbag which he promptly dumps out on his floor. Whatever, he can pick it up later. Not like it matters with them graduating anyway.

With an empty bag he starts loading up snacks and water bottles. Another moment passes and Shinso decides to grab the weighted blanket on his bed as well. It might help any paranoia she has. Or at least he hopes.

And then, once more, he makes the trip back down the elevator, through the common room, and back up to Uraraka’s floor. It’s quiet up here and he approaches her door as quickly as he can without breaking into a jog.

He couldn’t have possibly been gone for more than 15 minutes and yet, when he opens the door, he’s startled to find that Uraraka had most definitely thrown up on herself. Her eyes are so spaced out and red and he feels bad for her.

“Hey, Uraraka. I’m back,” Hitoshi calls softly as he approaches. He leaves his bag on the floor next to the bed before sitting on it next to Uraraka. She’s sniffling and her face looks red.

“I threw up,” she croaks.

“I know. It’s alright, it can happen when you green out. We should get you cleaned up, though.” Hitoshi whispers. He leans over her, smoothing back her bangs while she pouts up at him. “How much can you move?”

“Not much,” Uraraka admits.

Not a problem. He’d just have to pull her up and help her. No biggie. He reaches down, wrapping an arm under hers and hoists her up as gently as he possibly can. She makes small groans of protest but otherwise she manages alright. Hitoshi helps her swing her legs over the side of the bed before he supports her so she can stand up.

“Alright we’re gonna walk to the bathroom. I’ll go at your pace and support you.” Uraraka barely managed to take a step before she was already complaining.

“This is really hard,” she whined. She took one more slow step before pouting up at Hitoshi. He looked down at her, suddenly feeling like his heart was caught in his throat. Sure, she looked a little more than disheveled and yes, there was a bit of vomit still caught in the corner of her lips. But for that fleeting moment, the way she looks at him? It makes him irrationally nervous.

Hitoshi clears his throat, glancing away. "Yeah it's gonna be really hard. Those little shits like stuff that gives you a body high."

"Body high?" Uraraka mumbles as Hitoshi tries his best to lead her to the bathroom.

"Yeah, it makes your body feel heavy. Like you're really relaxed."

"Oh," Uraraka replies. She giggles, before speaking up again. "I feel like that." Hitoshi can't help but laugh at that. She's really out of it. Tonight is going to be a blur for her in the morning. "Closing my eyes feels weird."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know, like I get really dizzy and I feel like the world is spinning." Uraraka closes them, groaning uneasily. "Yeah, that's what it feels like."

"Then keep them open. We're gonna get you into a bath so you won't feel as bad."

“Okay,” Uraraka agrees. Hitoshi guides her over to sit on the lid of the toilet, turning so he can start drawing a bath. It’s now that he realizes he’s probably going to have to help her clean up, as awkward as that will be. But sure. No worries. He’s just doing a solid for a friend and there’s absolutely nothing about her being a woman that makes him nervous about this. Not at all.

Once he’s determined the water is warm enough, he plugs the drain and lets it fill. Hitoshi turns back towards Uraraka, who is slumped on the toilet, looking half-alive. His eyes glance towards her shower supplies seeing what she had available. All things considered, Uraraka only really seemed to keep the essentials. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

“Do uh, you have anything else for your bath?” Hitoshi asks.

“Hmm? Oh, yeah I think there’s some bubble bath stuff under the sink,” Uraraka replies slowly. Hitoshi walks over to her sink, opening the cabinet door and peeking inside. He’s grateful the bottle is sitting right there so he doesn’t have to look for it. He grabs it and reads the back of the bottle to find out how much he needs to use.

He pours the suggested amount into the filling tub and watches as it bubbles up under the hot stream of water. Content, he turns back towards Uraraka to get her undressed. He reaches out for a moment before thinking better of it.

“Hey, do you want me to help you get undressed?”

“Please,” Uraraka spoke up. “I can’t even move my arms right now.” Hitoshi swallowed past the lump in his throat at the thought. Was it too late to get Mina in here instead? His trembling fingers reached out, gripping the hem of her shirt before he slowly lifted it up and over her head. He dropped the garment on the floor and decided he would leave her in her bra until he absolutely had to take it off.

“I’m gonna tug on your pants to get them off so try not to fall off the toilet, alright?” Uraraka nodded a bit to let him know she understood before Hitoshi started working on her pants. They were difficult and Hitoshi had to carefully tug them down until he could grip them and tug them off. He did his best to remain respectful, even though he couldn’t help but smirk at her pink undies with a little bow on the front. They definitely matched her.

A few tugs and Uraraka’s pants quickly followed her shirt on the floor. Now she was just left in her underwear. Hitoshi was glad Uraraka was stoned out of her mind. Maybe she wouldn’t be able to remember just how flushed his face was right now.

When he turns back to the tub, he’s happy to see it's done filling. He shuts off the water before he reaches out a hand to help Uraraka stand up and maneuver towards the warm bubble bath.

“I feel like I’m going to be sick again,” Uraraka groans.

“You’ll feel better once you’re in the bath. Just a little longer. I’m gonna help you out of your underwear, alright?”

“Yeah, that’s fine.” Hitoshi releases an apprehensive breath before he’s hooking his fingers into the hem of Uraraka’s panties. He slowly pulls them down her thighs, crouching so he can guide them down to the floor and get her feet through the holes. He avoids the elephant in the room, averting his gaze as he stands up.

“Here, be careful,” Hitoshi watches her wobble as she steps towards the bath before he sighs, hooking an arm under her knees before he’s lifting her and gently placing her down into the water. Her bra was now wet, but that was okay.

“Thank you Shinso. I don’t know what I’d do if you weren’t here.”

“Don’t mention it.” Hitoshi finally reaches down to unclasp her bra, pulling it off of her and out of the water before tossing it on top of her other vomit-stained clothing. He was grateful that the bubbles hid her body so he could relax.

He leans over, grabbing a rag from the side of the tub, and dips it into the soapy water before he grips Uraraka’s chin and wipes her face clean. Uraraka’s eyes flutter shut and she hums her approval.

“This really is nice,” she sighs. “I already feel much better.”

“I’m glad,” Hitoshi mumbles as he moves on to her shoulders. “Do you think you can wash the rest of your body while I wash your hair?” She nods once more, opening her eyes and grabbing the rag from him. Now that she’s in the hot bath she seems a lot more relaxed and focused. He’s thankful that the two idiots responsible for the current situation at least prefer a mind high over a body one or else he was sure Uraraka would be dealing with a nasty bout of paralysis.

“You know,” Hitoshi starts, “this sort of thing happens a lot. Greening out, that is.” He leans over to grab Uraraka’s shampoo and conditioner bottle, clicking the caps open before he’s squeezing a dollop of her strawberry-scented shampoo into his palm. He reaches out, spreading it over her hair before he cups some water in his hands and wets it. He starts scrubbing, Uraraka’s movements halting while she leans into his touch. “In fact, the first time I got high I overdid it. Thought I was being cool. I was just like you.”

“How so?” Uraraka mumbles pleasantly.

“Well, I didn’t wanna seem inexperienced so I took a giant hit from the bong with some of my old classmates. Back when I was still in general studies. It was like tonight. Well, kinda.” Hitoshi laughs a little, remembering the memory fondly regardless of how horrible the night had turned out. “Some of my buddies wanted to celebrate the end of the term since I was transferring to the hero course.”

“So where’s the part where you took the ‘giant hit’ then?” Uraraka laughs.

“I’m getting there,” Hitoshi playfully scolds. He cups more water in his hands, pouring it over her head to rinse out the shampoo before he grabs the bottle of conditioner. “A bunch of them were passing around a bong and they offered it to me. Asked if I had ever smoked before. I lied and said I did. Figured it was whatever and tried to match the hits that they had taken.”

“And?”

And I ended up so fucking high. I went back to my room and laid down. Put on some stupid youtube video and figured whatever. It’d be over in an hour or so.” Hitoshi finishes slathering the ends of her hair with the conditioner and sets down the bottle down and keeps talking so it can soak in. “It wasn’t. I ended up pretty much being paralyzed. Figured I’d sleep it off but as soon as I shut my eyes I got the spins and threw up. Ended up passing out covered in my own puke once I finally started to come down.”

“Gross!” Uraraka complained, sticking out her tongue. Hitoshi laughs, Uraraka also giggling from his story.

“They still call me the ‘One Hit Wonder’ for that night.”

“Maybe I’ll have to start calling you that too.” Uraraka teases.

“Just do me a favor and don’t let Denki or Sero hear you calling me that. They’d never let me hear the end of it.”

“That sounds like a deal, mister One Hit Wonder,” Uraraka giggles. Hitoshi decides that enough time has passed and so he rinses Uraraka’s hair out once more, doing his best to get all of the conditioner out.

“I think we’re all done. Where can I get some pajamas for you?” Hitoshi stands, stretching after sitting hunched over for so long and waits for Uraraka to tell him what to grab. She sits thoughtfully before responding, giving him specific instructions about where to find her pajama set and Hitoshi exits to look for it.

It doesn’t take long. Uraraka’s instructions were spot-on and he returns to the bathroom moments later with the shirt and bottoms in his arms. Uraraka had managed to get herself out of the bath and wrapped in a towel, leaning against the wall for support.

“Thanks, Shinso. Just leave them on the sink I’ll be out in a sec.”

“You sure?”

“Yeah, I’ll be alright. If not, then I guess you’ll hear me if I fall,” she jokes. Hitoshi makes sure to give her a serious look, letting her know he doesn’t appreciate her joke.

“Just call for me if you need help.” Hitoshi exits once more, shutting the door behind him, and takes a seat on the edge of Uraraka’s bed while he waits for her to change. It takes a while, and he can hear her clumsy movements the entire time. She comes out minutes later, sighing heavily as she stumbles towards the bed. Hitoshi stands once more to help guide her so she can lay down. As soon as she hits her sheets she gets comfy, crawling under and laying up on her pillow. As soon as she settles in and relaxes she lets out a long, low sigh.

“Gosh I can kinda see why you guys do this kind of stuff. I don’t think I’ve ever been so relaxed before. This is the comfiest this bed has ever felt.” Hitoshi snorts at that last bit before sitting down on the edge of the bed with her.

“I promise it’s a lot better when you mean to get high and have an appropriate dose.”

“I’m sure. Although I can’t say that this is something I’d want to continue doing in the future. At least for now.”

“I can respect that.” Hitoshi shrugged, unbothered. However, now that Uraraka had been showered and felt a little bit better, although she surely hadn’t peaked just yet, Hitoshi supposed his job was done and he could return to the group. Then he could really give Sero and Denki a lashing. “Well, I packed up some snacks. Wasn’t sure what you liked but just grabbed some stuff I like eating when I’m high. Plus some water.”

“Oh thanks. Those look yummy.” She was already reaching for one of the bags of chips Hitoshi had laid out while he got up, preparing to leave. However, as soon as he did Uraraka was speaking up. “Are you leaving?”

“Well, yeah. I don’t think you really need me anymore. But you have my number if you do.”

“Stay?” Uraraka looked up at him, pouting and giving him the biggest puppy dog eyes he had ever seen. He flushed, clearing his throat and looking away.

“I’m not sure-”

“Please?”

Hitoshi was sure Iida would somehow magically find out by the morning and scold them about the rules, but what harm could it do? After all, maybe she’d need more help.

“Yeah, fine, okay. I’ll stay. Just until you start sobering up, alright?”

“Deal,” Uraraka agreed. She beamed up at him, scooting over and patting the bed next to her so Hitoshi could lay down with her. He did as she wanted, laying down above the sheets and watched as Uraraka pulled her laptop up from the side of the bed. She turned it on, turning it onto Netflix, and scrolled for a bit until she found a show. “This one alright?”

Hitoshi looked. It looked like some romance show of sorts. Not exactly his tastes but he didn’t mind.

“Go ahead,” he replied. Uraraka clicked play and laid her laptop down on her stomach, angling it so Hitoshi could also watch it.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t that bad. After an episode Uraraka was completely out of it, humming to herself and watching the screen with glazed eyes. At one point she had groaned uncomfortably, reaching out for Hitoshi’s hand. He did his best not to react as she squeezed his hand, grounding herself.

Slowly over the course of the next episode she had inched closer and closer. Holding his hand eventually ended up with her laying her head on his shoulder and the laptop repositioned to sit in Hitoshi’s lap. He definitely didn’t mind this at all.

“Would you like to maybe try to hang out once we both find an agency to work at?” Uraraka spoke up softly. Hitoshi glanced over, his eyes finding hers. He smiled softly, heart pounding.

“Yeah, I’d like that.”

“Cool. Me too.”

They settled back into silence, still staring at each other for a moment before Uraraka smiled shyly and looked back towards the laptop. It wasn’t much longer before Hitoshi could feel himself start to doze off.

Before he knew it he was asleep. But not without feeling the soft press of Uraraka’s lips against his cheek before he did.
